No matter how much sunscreen I apply, or how much care I take to stay out of the sun, those pesky freckles still invaded my cheek area. I tried many skin brightening and spots creams and while they may help a little, I never really managed to totally get rid of my freckles.
After seeing my fellow blogger Regina’s success at her pigmentation removal at The Clifford Clinic, I booked an appointment with Dr. Gerard Ee in hopes that I can get rid of those pesky pigmentations once and for all.
Consultation
During the consultation, Dr. Gerard Ee took a thorough look at my cheek areas. I was worried that those pigmentations were melasma but he told me not to worry and assured me that my freckles aren’t as serious as I thought they were.
Pico Laser for freckles removal
Dr. Gerard Ee recommended Pico Laser for pigmentation removal and I started my first session immediately after the consultation. The therapist helped me apply some numbing cream on my face to make the treatment a more comfortable one.

Can you see all the small freckles and two big ones on my left cheek?

Dr. Ee first targeted the Pico Laser on each and every one of my freckles and pigmentations. After the whole process is completed, he went on to treat my whole face with Pico Laser to rejuvenate my skin. Apparently, Pico Laser isn’t just good for pigmentation removal. It also helps to refine our pores, get rid of acne scarrings, and stimulate collagen production.

Pico Laser at The Clifford Clinic to for freckles removal
The whole treatment process was a very comfortable one and there’s absolutely no pain at all.
Post Pico Laser treatment
There were some darkened scabbing for the next one or two days on my freckles and besides that, there was no downtime at all. A dab of concealer is all you need before heading out.
Results of my freckles removal
I was super impressed by the Pico Laser that I did with Dr. Gerard Ee at The Clifford Clinic because you know what? My freckles were 80% gone after only one treatment! I was elated when the scabbing fell off two or three days later, only to discover that my spots had lightened significantly, and all the smaller ones were totally gone.

No more freckles!
I did a total of three sessions and I was declared freckles free. My skin looked a lot “cleaner” and clearer now!
Side effects of Pico Laser
Are there any side effects of Pico Laser? Yes, and I am totally in love with these side effects though!
After the Pico Laser sessions, I realised that there’s a significant change in my overall skin condition.
- I used to depend heavily on blotting papers because of the excessive sebum secretions on my skin. If I don’t blot my face every now and then, I get pimple outbreaks. After the Pico Laser treatments, my skin’s sebum secretions seem to have balanced out. I no longer have oily skin like I used to, and I don’t even use blotting papers anymore.
- My skin looked very clear and radiant all the time, even when I skipped my base makeup. And my friends would doubt the fact that I had no makeup on because of my improved skin condition. I’m not exaggerating! Lol.
- I’m not sure if it is the Pico Laser stimulating collagen production under my skin ( I’ll find out from Dr. Ee the next time I visit him!), my skin looked firmer and more youthful.
I’m not sure about you but these “side effects” are definitely a huge bonus for me. And because of all the improvement Pico Laser gave my skin, I’ll still continue to head back to The Clifford Clinic for Pico Laser treatments even though my freckles removal is completed. At this time in point, I’ve already done 5 sessions of Pico Laser treatments already!
