Oh hi hi! I think because of my work, I have turned lazy and rarely dress up or even tidy up. However recently, I finally got moving and visited my favourite hair salon – Chez Vous hair.
I went to them for HELP this time because my hair was in desperate need of treatment and a new cut & color and that’s where they introduced me their new services for Asian women!
Being Singapore’s most innovative hair salon, Chez Vous teams up with professional hair brand Goldwell to create three unique new services to help Asian women achieve their ultimate dream tresses! The three groundbreaking services, #GlassHair, #RightColourMatters and #FakeAsh was created so that Asian women can finally achieve their dream, Instagram-worthy hair and discover the hair colour that truly suits their unique skin tone, facial features and shape.
Basically Asian women have three main issues when it comes to hair, allow me to diagnose the issues one by one.
- The Problem: Choosing a hair colour is not easy for Asians. Most online beauty guides and techniques are not applicable as they focus on Caucasians and Hispanics and end up confusing or even misleading Asian women into selecting hair colours based on trends, instead of what enhances their look best.
The Solution: #RightColourMatters Diagnosis. A simple yet accurate methodology created to determine the right hair colour for each and every Asian woman — it assesses how our skin and facial imperfections alter with different hair undertones and recommends corrective hair colours that will best complement our features.
- The Problem: S.E. Asia’s sweltering heat and humid climate causes our hair to be unruly, unmanageable and frizzy.
The Solution: #GlassHair. Inspired by the famous Korean trend of achieving flawless and smooth “glass skin”, a programme (inclusive of a treatment and Goldwell Kerasilk premium homecare) was developed to achieve the same effect for your hair. The result: hair with long-lasting, heat-activated glass-like smoothness.
- The Problem: Ashy and dusty hair is trending among Asian women in 2018. But with more than two rounds of pre-lightening required to achieve these shades, they are not confident of achieving the look without severely damaging their hair.
The Solution: #FakeAsh Colour Service. A brand new approach to hair colouring, #FakeAsh uses just one session of pre-lightening and combines two to three “easily achievable” hair colours to create an optical illusion of Instagram-worthy ash tones. This service is designed with Asians’ natural hair in mind.
I tried out the #RightColourMatters Diagnosis and here are my thoughts about it. Honestly I have always admired fair girls who can pull off black hair and never knew why I couldn’t! I also realised I couldn’t pull off certain colours too (besides black). For people who like trying colours (I have tried purple, blue, pink, green, grey, ash, blonde etc. just to name a few), you might notice some colours look better on you and some don’t. Someone with an equally fair skin tone could look good with black but not me as our skin tone is still slightly different. I was given various color charts to play with and at the end of the session, I understood blue and green colours were more suitable for my skin tone. This is equally true for my choice of colours for my wardrobe. A lighter blue made my face look sharper, and more radiant as compared to a darker blue. However as I am still young, a sharper look would be more ideal but if the customer is an older lady, red which gives a more plumped up look would probably be more suitable.
Next, I tried the #GlassHair treatment. I was asked to leave it on for at least 48 hours. The end result is glossy and softer hair. It is so much so much easier to manage now. Drying time is also much shorter. As usual, a treatment isn’t complete without Goldwell Kerasilk premium homecare! The 4-step DIY home practice is 1. Shampoo 2. Condition 3. Mask 4. Control. This comes with all #GlassHair treatments.
Oh and I almost forgot. Besides all these services, we need a hair cut that complements your face shape. I mostly walk out of salons regretting my hair cut but this time, I loved it! Victor is really talented I must say! He gave me shorter hair as requested but when I wanted to go shorter he kindly advised me not to because any shorter would curl at the ends and I would have trouble with styling it! He also taught me that layering at the ends would make my hair look frizzy hence he only layered slightly at the top to give my hair volume.
Here are the immediate results! Hubby commented he loves how classy and soft my hair is as compared to all the previous dye jobs I had! Teehee styling is also much easier because its so soft. All I need to do is blow dry and use a curling tong to curl the ends slightly. This can be done in 10 mins unlike the past when I needed at least 30 mins.
