Steamboat with Steamboat King!

It was my dad’s birthday last week and we had steamboat in the comfort of our own home. So glad Steamboat King could accommodate to my large family requests. Living in a large family of 10 adults and 4 kids, steamboat at home would mean requiring to purchase a bulk of ingredients from the supermarkets and often, one shopping cart or shopping trip is insufficient.

Steamboat King is honestly the best and only choice I would go for if I am craving for home steamboat again as they offer up to 31% discount! I ordered the Steamboat King Bundle D (for 8 to 10 pax) and it was only $150, even cheaper than going to the supermarket or eating outside. It is almost impossible these days to eat outside with only $150 for 8 to 10 pax. Enjoy wholesale prices when you purchase from them. Steamboat King specialize on delivery so you will find higher quality ingredients at cheaper prices!

For only $15 per pax, my family got to enjoy the following for FREE! You certainly can’t find this type of price and quality elsewhere.

  27. FREE Goma shoyu sauce (60ml x 3)

Supermarkets keep their produce for a long, long time but Steamboat King receive ingredients in small batches every 2nd day so everything is ensured delicious and fresh! Besides, you get to savor their delicious broths, chilis & sauces you can’t make at home. This will be one of the main reasons you keep going back to them. Not only that, they also gave a FREE one-pax hot pot when you purchase the bundle.

Plus, they offer 100% guarantee replacement. In the event you received hotpot ingredients that are not fresh from them, Steamboat King replace it for FREE! I tried their Goma Shoyu, Homemade Sambal and Thai Chili and they provide FREE signature sauce set with every order too! I like that I can avoid long queues at restaurants and have the same or even better steamboat experience in the comfort of my home without having to wash up.

Enjoy free delivery when you spend above $100. Steamboat riders deliver to you anywhere in Singapore within an hour.

Thank you Steamboat King for the generosity! You can purchase the bundles or choose to go ala carte at their website. Here’s their Instagram and Facebook pages.

Seafood feast with 8 Crabs Seafood Restaurant

Phase 2 has just started and I am so excited about it! Can’t wait to head out and dine. During the entire circuit breaker, I have been having takeaways and the food rarely tastes as good as the restaurant itself. So when I came across 8 Crabs and its good reviews, I was in disbelief. However as it sounded so good, I decided to try it out to see for myself!

8 Crabs Seafood Restaurant offers Crab and Seafood Delivery and are the only company in Singapore using grade AAA premium Sri Lankan sourced wild crabs. This means that their crabs are meatier, tastier, bigger, and less watery. To ensure freshness, these crabs are caught, flown, prepared and delivered to you within 12 hours.

Using $120, I managed to get a scrumptious crab feast for my family. I order their Award-Winning Salted Egg Crab in Extra Large (about 1 kg) at $88 and ordered another Curry Fish Head cooked in nyonya style. This is great for 4-5 pax.

The crabs are indeed fresher and meatier. I love how meaty and fresh the crab flesh is. My family love the Curry Fish Head sauce as well. Also, they gave a large packet of deep-fried tofu skin to go along with the curry fish head. A pity I forgot to buy mantou otherwise we could enjoy with the salted egg sauce. I am looking forward to trying out their Black Pepper and Chill Crab which are also Award-Winning.

Why choose 8 Crabs? Besides the food, I like their policy as well. They offer a full refund via store credits for all late deliveries and deliver within 1 hour earliest.

With Father’s Day approaching, why not order a crab feast for your dad too? I am sure that would not only excite your father but the whole family too! To order, visit here.

When was the last time you guys went to Malacca? For me, that was about 4-5 years ago? That was a long time but anyway things have now changed and it looks so much more developed! It has turned from a family vacation favourite to a youths’ hot spot. Thanks to BD Limousine Travel, I went on a 2D1N trip to Malacca just this week! A perfect start to the week I would say. Thankful for Yixin and the whole BD Limousine Travel group for the wonderful short trip.

So, unlike the usual travel packages around where you have to take the overcrowded and uncomfortable coach to the customs and lug all your bags while queueing at the immensely long queue over at customs, would you fancy getting picked up right at your door step and skip the whole queuing up at customs? I sure do and I know many people who would rather opt for this too!

I got picked up right at my door step by the PR person, tour guide and driver. We reached and crossed over to Malaysia in less than 1 hour?  We had a stopover lunch in JB since we were early. Tried the very famous Taman Pelangi beehoon and dishes. The beehoon was so tasty! The coconut water was fabulous! The meal was overall very appetising. It was the best meal of the trip.

We reached Malacca about in 2-3 hours time and immediately checked in to our hotel. The hotel we were staying for this trip was Hatten Hotel. Hatten Hotel is a new 4 star Luxury Hotel in Melaka City Centre. BD Limousine Travel also do tie ups with Estadia hotel. We almost couldn’t bear to leave the room because it was so luxurious. And for shoppers, you would be happy to know H&M, Jurlique and Braun Buffel (Tim Hoe Wan is also in construction) is within the Hotel itself!

The hotel amenities were wonderful. They had a bar, infinity swimming pool, a spa, hair salon and gym.

After resting for a bit, we met up with the rest to head to Pantai Klebang – the place ideal for taking worthy ootd shots! Yixin and I were overwhelmed with the desert-liked venue that had dunes and a beautiful view. This could be the perfect place for wedding shots. We saw a wedding photo shoot about to take place when we were there.

After exploring a bit and taking fun shots, we went back to the hotel restaurant, Chatterz for Steamboat dinner! Even though nearby our hotel, there were tons of famous food places, we decided to settle with Steamboat for the night because it’s such a rare occasion and so much more fun! Indeed, we had so much fun eating steamboat. The food was fresh and so much variety! You get to choose from an endless selection of sauces, meats, noodles, vegetables, desserts and cooked food. This was by far the most impressive variety I have seen of a Steamboat Buffet. At only RM$50, you can try it when you do not want to head out of the hotel.

After dinner, though we were exhausted we decided to try the very infamous trishaw rides. What’s so special about Malacca trishaw rides is that the trishaw drivers spend a lot of effort in decorating their trishaws into very cute rides. Some like to decorate with Hello Kitty, or Mickey Mouse and even Super Man! Yixin and I chose the Hello Kitty one. At RM$25, its something interesting you can try when you are there. Available in the morning too, I would advise morning rides so you can take better pictures.

Even though some of the places we went this time were touristy spots, BD Limousine do bring you to interesting unique spots that not many people know about. Apparently, there is this very cute home stay that looks like the famous Melbourne Blue Boat House. They could bring you if you are interested!

After we went back at night, Yixin and I got rather hungry and the very nice BD Limousine Group actually went to get us some KFC! So very nice of them.

The next morning, it was extremely difficult to get up. I was sinking too deep into the bed. Eventually, I managed to wake up for the buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast at Chatterz was good! I love the breakfast as it had eggs and dessert stations. The variety was extensive.

Right after breakfast, it was drizzling but we still went over to Jonker street for sightseeing. Thankful we had a rather pro photographer around to help us take pictures! He’s our driver cum photographer too!

After lunch, we went to do more sightseeing. We first went to the floating mosque. It was the MOST BEAUTIFUL mosque I have ever seen before. It reminds me of BALI’s resorts’ and hotels’ wedding chapels to be honest. For females, it is a must to wear the shawls and tudongs given by them to enter. Yixin and I was not very keen hence the tour guide and driver went on our behalf instead. HAHA and they ended up using our camera to take artsy pictures of themselves instead. It was hilarious. Never before have I travelled with such a fun group! Traveling with them is so fun and lighthearted.

We even went to Upside Down house after that. Look at all the fun pictures we took! This resembles Trick Eye Museum.

After all the fun, we went to  eat the famous chicken rice balls. I did remember being a fan of chicken rice balls when I was younger but somehow the balls were a tad too salty for my liking this time. Yixin however loved them! The entire meal was rather expensive though at RM$70+.

We then went to shop around Dataran Pahlawan. The shopping mall was huge and is ONLY  8 minutes walk away from our hotel.

After that, we went to view the Harbour City (Hatten Hotel’s upcoming theme park/hotel project) showroom flat and it finally came to saying goodbye. The driver brought us back to Singapore and we alighted right at our doorstep. This was indeed a memorable trip. I will definitely visit Malacca again and this time I am going to get BD LIMOUSINE TRAVEL as my travel group.

Currently, they are having extensive promotions. Do check out their fab giveaway happening on their Facebook now! They might also be opening up wedding photography slots soon so if you are interested, you might want to check with them.

REVIEW – Svenson Treatment Solutions

Hello again!

Attended the Svenson Hair Enrichment Workshop a few weeks ago and was really pleased to know more about how to tackle hair and scalp problems. Thank you for sharing such insightful information with me, Svenson! There was a complimentary hair scalp analysis and also a 5 course meal c/o Monochrome Bistro for us bloggers. The fish and tiramisu were my favourites! Too bad I didn’t managed to take a photo of the tiramisu.

SVENSON is a leading brand of solutions for hair and scalp problems using the most advanced technologies. With over 40 years of trichological expertise and knowledge, Svenson offers scientific diagnosis and customized and effective solutions to almost all hair problems.

Operating a global network of hair centers today, there are 54 branches across Asia region, including China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, and of course, Singapore.

Today, they are proud to present its three best-selling hair care treatments: Folligro, Micro-Transdermal Therapy (MTT) and PLGA Total Solution.

The latest treatment to be introduced, Folligro, delivers a potent mix of vital oxygen and rich nutrients deep into the roots and stimulates greater cell regeneration and collagen production for significant results.

Making use of Radio Frequency (RF) to promote regeneration of tissues and hair growth, the energy is fractionally delivered in micron spots into the dermal layers of the skin via 22 uniquely-designed gold conductive pins.

The Folligro treatment takes about 45 minutes and is pain-free. The scalp is first cleansed and hair is blown dry. An Amino Peptide Solution is then applied directly on one section of the scalp, followed by immediate application of RF energy over the same section. This is repeated in sections all over the crown area before a scalp massage is performed to end the treatment.

Using a handheld micro-needle roller device with a wheel attached to the handle, the Micro- Transdermal Therapy (MTT) treatment works by triggering the production of human growth factor.

Outfitted with a total of 540 micro-needles, each of varying lengths from 0.2mm to 2.0mm, the device is rolled over the skin, causing the needles to press against the scalp tissue, resulting in minor surface wounds. The body must then work to produce new skin in the area of the wound and releases the human growth hormone, collagen and other chemicals to assist with this process.

In addition, the treatment also creates a new transcellular route (microchannel) for the delivery of small doses of active ingredients of different medications, such as the Svenson MPC Solution, to enter deeper tissues.

This efficacious solution contains vitamins, amino acids, co-enzymes, minerals, hyaluronic acid, gluthathione and copper tripeptides that stimulate the growth of epitelial cells of hair bulb, inhibits catagen phase and stimulates anagen phase (new growth).

This treatment is effective for common male and female baldness problems, such as male front- parietal alopecia, diffused hair loss and post-pregnancy alopecia.

Svenson’s PLGA Total Solution is a breakthrough Do-It-Yourself home treatment that combines remarkable properties of the rare Loquat leaf and nanotechnology to produce noticeably thicker, fuller looking hair for those suffering from thinning hair.

The key active compound extracted from the Loquat leaf is Corosolic acid, traditionally used as a herbal medicine. This herbal extract encourages better blood circulation and manages testosterone level, often the primary cause of hair loss.

To be applied daily after hair wash using a light head massage method on problem areas, clients can expect to see a gradual increase in fine, thin and thick hair growth at alopecia neurotic areas from the convenient PLGA Total Solution home treatment, from as early as two months after starting. A typical complete treatment process will take six months of consistent application.

After the presentation of the products, we were introduced to the 5-step massage directed by the therapist which we all tried on ourselves at the same time. Having previously taken a short course under Kimage training school, I have learnt to do head massages but this was pretty different. I will definitely use this instead because it requires lesser strength and seems effective.

1504-9408-MBF v3 1504-9408-MBF v3

  • Shampoo daily, or twice daily, using the appropriate shampoo for your hair and scalp type
  • When applying styling products, avoid getting them on the scalp
  • When blow-drying, avoid direct strong heat and keep the blow-dryer moving
  • Brush or comb hair gently especially when wet
  • Practice daily scalp massage − recommended to use Svenson’s NEW 5-Step Head Massage (as detailed below)

  • Significantly more hair falls during combing, brushing and shampooing
  • Scalp feels sensitive; inflammation (redness), prone to getting itchy, oily and scaly
  • Frontal hairline starts to recede with more small “baby” hair appearing
  • Overall hair becoming more limp and lacks body or volume
  • Hair texture becomes finer and hair growth appears slower

Each of us were kindly given some sample products to bring home. I started using the products the very next day and to my delight, the volumizing shampoo was too good to be true. I have to say it restored my crowning glory! More on the shampoo will be shared later in the post.

DSC05950 DSC05952 DSC05953 DSC05954DSC05961

The treatment was to be applied before shampooing and I quite like that the treatment soften my scalp and hair. I could feel it was easier to detangle my hair afterwards. I like that the treatment was not harsh and did not cause any burning sensation at all. Usually I am quite afraid of treatment solutions due to the harsh ingredients included. However, for this range, I quite like it!

When I first applied this product on to my hair I was shocked at how cleanse my scalp was! I love the minty cooling feel after shampooing my hair with this. Felt instantly refreshed afterwards. I also felt my hair was more volumized overall and not as flat as it was usually even after a whole day of activities. I checked with my hairstylist when I went back to cut my hair and she complimented that my hair was softer and less oilier as before which is a good thing!

DSC05957 DSC05958 DSC05960 DSC05970 DSC05972

The reviews of this product is incredible. Given only a 10 day sample, I was able to tell that I faced lesser hair drop during this period. There was lesser hair clogged in the sink after a shower. If you are interested to find out more about this product, you could read up on the properties and benefits above. I personally found this product to be quite precious since it had a lifespan of only 10 days! I had to make sure I finished within 10 days.

I hope this post helped you in discovering more about Svenson and its latest technology. Thank you for reading and stay tune for more beauty reviews xx

REVIEW – MooJaa Mookata

Hello again!

The weather has been rather insane these days! Some days are so unbearably hot and some days are just so cold! Take today for instance, it has been raining all day that its so cold! If only I can have some Mookata right now!

Anyway, this reminds me! Just the other day I was invited to go down to MooJaa Mookata’s new opening and it was such a great experience. I love MooJaa Mookata’s concept! It is so damn cool that the hot pot is tucked away below the table so that the smoke would not hit you directly. I also like that they have a wide array of sauces for you to choose from (self service). This reminds me of Hai Di Lao and I simply love this concept!

The whole place was kept very clean and the staff was very friendly too! I don’t really like to drink Thai Iced Tea on a whole because I always find it too sweet but the Thai Iced Tea here was not that sweet which is a plus point! They have ala carte and also set meals available. We had the Set Moo recommended for two and it was so filling even though it looks like not much in the beginning! The set comprises of scallops and also prawns at a very reasonable price.

The meat was also very tender and well marinated. I love the chicken so so much!

The Set Moo (recommended for 2) we had was so filling and only costs $45! What a steal really!

Thank you MooJaa Mookata for hosting me and my friend and congratulations again! If you live around the area or just looking for a good place for mookata, do drop by! You will not be disappointed.

Food Review – Knuckles + Hatter Street

Hello lovely people and welcome back to my space.

Been out running errands today and hardly had time to rest but nevertheless, today is a fulfilling day!

Today’s post will be a review on two cool new hangouts. I am digging the atmosphere on this street off Kovan.

#Throwback to yesterday. Basically, we did not intended to go into Knuckles. Before yesterday, I had no idea Knuckles even existed. If not for their truffle fries we would never have went in. As we were already quite full from dinner, we only ordered truffle fries.

Situated at a prime location next to the ever crowded Hatter Street and Nakhon Kitchen, there is a huge following here as well. If you don’t already know, Knuckle is owned by the very same owners of Nakhon. One success after another…when can that day be mine already. HAHA.

It is a newly established restaurant serving very reasonably priced German and Western cuisine. They offer pork knuckles at only $8! Even the truffle fries (tastes EXACTLY like skinny pizza’s truffle fries which is absolutely relish!) cost only $6! The best part is there is no GST or service tax.
The music here is fantastic and I love the funky tables and chairs here. They look like huge ass crates. The only thing here I don’t really fancy is, payment has to be done at the counter and not at the table. But other than that, it’s cool.

So basically, I found that Kovan is becoming quite hip with three popular cafes and restaurants all on the same street. And because I had always wanted to try Hatter Street, I went after dinner today.
We had the waffle with ice cream and oreo cookie brownie. Both desserts were so good. Not to exaggerate, but I think they may have the best waffle ever. It was crisp, light and was accompanied with tangy caramel sauce which boyfriend commented that it tasted like durian.

With that, thats the end of this post. Thank you for reading guys!

Food Review – Dinner at Grub

Happy Sunday folks!

Ran some errands today and visited my friend’s place at Tanglin. OOTD shots were taken at the park just outside her apartment.

Outfit of the Day (OOTD) details

For dinner, we went to Grub located at Bishan Park. It was crazily packed even at 8pm! There were 7 in waiting with us. Starving, we wanted to go somewhere else instead but decided upon that there were no where any better nearby. While waiting, we went to shift our car and parked at somewhere nearer Grub. We only found out there was a designated parking space near Grub after we reached the place. The better parking is located just next to Bishan Golf Range where I used to have my golf lessons at.

Boy, are we glad we stayed! The food was relatively good. The truffled eggs cocotte was incredible and priced at $7, I thought it was value for money. We liked how the eggs had a slight truffle taste to it and wasn’t too strong. The toasts were lightly baked and had a slight rosemary herb taste to it which boyfriend loved. This was the highlight of the meal.

Boyfriend had the steak + fries as main course, while I had the Sakura Ebi pasta. The ribeye steak was nicely done and tender. The Sakura Ebi pasta was a tad salty and left me feeling quite sick after awhile. Boyfriend loved it though.

For dessert, we ordered the churros as we have heard raves about it. Boyfriend loved the churros but I thought there was nothing special. We both however found the chocolate and vanilla sauces to be quite diluted and not as thick as how the sauces should actually be.

With that, this is all. Thank you for reading guys! Have a lovely Sunday you all.

Food Review – Baguette, Medz and Ku De Ta

Happy Wednesday guys!

This is a throwback to last Saturday’s activities. It was a typical long day for me, I had to meet 3 different group of friends.

Met my Le Mini Gang clique for brunch at CMPB, Demsey. As this was our usual hang out place, I did not take any photos haha.

Took some photos along the way while waiting for my second group of friend for dinner and dessert.

Outfit of the Day (OOTD) details

Earrings: Bangkok

We had a horrible experience at Medz. The grilled chicken my friend had was uncooked and all red inside. We asked for a change and the management agreed to change to another dish however the wait was too long. Along the way, the servers also accidentally delivered the wrong dishes to us a couple of times, which was rather annoying.

After dinner, we went for dessert at Paris Baguette. We ordered a couple of sweets for sharing. We had mini croissants, twisted chocolate french pastries, egg tart, and pudding.

After dessert, we split and I went to attend a girlfriend’s party at Ku De Ta.

Thank you for reading, guys! Till the next update.

Food Review – Imperial Treasure Steamboat Restaurant

Welcome back to my space. Celebrated my dearest girlfriend’s birthday today in advance at our favourite restaurant, Imperial Treasure Steamboat.

Compared to Hai Di Lao, I definitely prefer Imperial Treasure for its quality and the amazing taste of the soup base even though the service is not as great as Hai Di Lao’s. At Hai Di Lao, there is a wide variety of self served sauces for you to mix as and how you like it to be. At Imperial Treasure, they will provide a large tray filled with a variety of sauces where you can either request for their specialty sauce or you can do it yourself. If you request for their specialty sauce, they will do it on the spot for you.

For the soup, our favourite and the extremely popular one is the wine chicken base. We got both that and Mala for dinner tonight.

The wine chicken for the soup base

A few dishes we ordered,

Chinese baby spinach

Fish skin

Prawn noodle

Pork and Beef slices

Frog legs, I felt damn cruel having this. The frog legs were just sliced so they were still pumping.

After dinner, I surprised my girlfriend with a cake.

Thank you for reading guys! Please remember to make a reservation beforehand. This place is super popular and reservation is a must even during weekdays.
