Travel Log – Bali Day 4

Hello again!

So this post marks the last of my Bali trip and the next travel log will be on Jakarta!

Woke up early today and was surprised by a wild monkey. Quickly woke the rest up as I was unable to handle it. The security guards came quickly to chase away the monkey.

We head off to breakfast after changing. The buffet breakfast spread was amazing. Unlike the usual self serve spreads, this was an ala carte one. The spread available on the menu was of a good variety.

After breakfast, we explored the beach for awhile, packed our bags and got ready to checkout.

Till then Karma Kandara, I will be back!

We head off to Alila Villas Uluwatu for a quick snack before rushing to the airport for our flight back to Jakarta. This is another villa worth visiting! The hotel’s interior is truly outstanding.

As our flight was nearing, we had no time to lose and rushed to the airport straight away to catch our flight back to Jakarta.

With that, this will be the end of the post. Thank you for reading guys!

Travel Log – Bali Day 3

Welcome back to my space. I will be sharing more on my Bali trip in this post!

Woke up pretty late so we checked out and went for lunch straight. We will be checking in to another villa.

Lunch was done quickly at this very cute restaurant, Mama San Kitchen Bar and Lounge which served singaporean dishes. We were ushered to the second floor which was empty. Apologies for the bad quality of photos. Only brought a iPhone 5 with me this time.

Group photo with the awesome company

After lunch, we checked in to Karma Kandara for our last night in Bali. Upon arriving, I was amazed with the view we had, and the interior of the entire villa. I felt like I was in Santorini, Greece.

Wanting to explore more of Bali, a few of us headed to the popular Uluwatu Monkey temple. The view was gorgeous.

It was only then that I found out bananas were never a monkey’s favourite. We tried to feed them some but they were not interested in them at all.

After the temple visit, we headed back to our villa for dinner. Dinner was done at this little hut by the Karma Kandara beach. It was truly romantic. The food was excellent as well.

We quickly head back to our villa after for more drinks and games. A pity I had skin allergy and was in a really bad state hence I did not participate in the games much and went to bed early.

Thank you for reading Part 3!

Travel Log – Bali Day 2

Happy Thursday people!

Are you all excited for TGIF tomorrow?

Anyway not missing the main point, here’s

Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up to such sight every morning? How I wish!

This is our Villa for the first and second night in Bali. Our personal Villa was a second storey one and had a private swimming pool, a mini kitchen and two living rooms. The bathrooms were very spacious but not very private. There was an even larger public swimming pool right outside our personal Villa.

Breakfast was heavenly, though the array was rather small, the food was good and had my favourites.
I had scrambled eggs and strawberry pancakes as my mains, chilled fruits with organic granola as the sides.

After breakfast, we changed to casual attire for rafting later.
Manage to take a quick selfie before leaving the villa!

We took up the rafting package with Bali Adventure tour. Still awaiting pics from my friend for now, there’s no pics yet!

The rafting journey was rather exhilarating and of course tiring! This was a whole new experience for me haha, we even did something totally stupid which I can’t share! With the package we took, we were entitled to a complimentary buffet lunch as well.

As we were too tired, we went back to nap before heading off for dinner and party. Dinner was done at Metis. The place so beautiful and grand. As we did not make any reservation, we were ushered off to the lounge for some pre-drinks first. Pictures below credited to Metis.

And not to much surprise, the food was great and absolutely delish! As we were all too hungry, not many photos were taken of the food. I did manage to take pictures of my own set though.

Main course of my night, Trio of Fish.

Though food and drinks were wonderful here, please do exercise caution when ordering drinks! We particularly hated the soursop cocktail which tasted horrid similar to the taste of detergent.

After dinner, we headed to Motel Mexicola for more drinks. Motel Mexicola is probably one of the cutest bars I have ever been to. The drinks were good and reasonably priced!

As the night was still young, it was not possible to simply stop and head back to our villa hence we went for another round of party elsewhere which I have forgotten the name. This is all for our 2nd day in Bali! Part 1 can be viewed here. Part 3 will be coming up soon! Thank you for reading guys!

Travel Log – Bali Day 1

Happy Wednesday lovelies!
To celebrate the start of my blog, I shall start with something interesting like my Bali trip in May 2014.
Took a morning flight to Bali and it was a short journey. It was less boring as I had company during the 2 hour flight. Michelle was not only my flight partner but also my room mate.
We took Jetstar and arrived in Bali at 1pm but only got out of immigration after about an hour or so due to the insane queue at the immigration.
When we got out, we tried to find the transport arranged for us by our lovely friends but it was quite difficult amidst the huge crowd. There was some confusion but nevertheless we managed to find our transport and followed our driver to the van that was going to be our sweet ride for the next few days.
Instead of heading back to the villa to check-in, we met up with Levi and other friends at Rock Bar to catch the sunset. It is essential to reserve a table beforehand otherwise you  might be disappointed. Rock bar is indeed worth going if you enjoy catching the sunset. Pricing wise is reasonable for Bali I would say. I wouldn’t recommend going Rock Bar after the sun sets because there’s nothing quite interesting there and it was rather dim after it got dark. Here are some of the amazing snacks we had.
After Rock Bar, we took the van to our dinner destination where we had fresh seafood along the sea. We went to Sungai Seafood restaurant but did not take much pictures because there was minimal light available for pictures. Every picture I took turned out too dark. The view at night was fantastic. We had the seafood set for 6 which consisted of crab, prawns, sotong, fish etc. We had corn on the cob as an appetiser from a cart nearby which was oh so delicious! There were varying flavours to choose from, spicy, sweet or a combination. Like any tourist, I went with the combination to get a taste of both worlds.
Even though it was so good, I did not finish it as I had to make room for the real deal. The food at Sungai was fresh and really good. The bill was not expensive too. It was about S$20 per person. One of the most satisfying seafood meals I had in Bali.
After dinner, we checked in to Blue Karma villa where we stayed for the night. We had an early rest for the night so as to prep ourselves for the next day’s activity, rafting.
More pictures on the resort will be displayed in the next post. Till then, tata!
Additional views
When in Bali, places with a view should be visited in the late afternoon to evening so as to take beautiful pictures! So glad we managed to visit Rock Bar at Ayana resort before the sun sets. The sunset is worth the hype I must say. Also, it is very important to get a reservation before going as the queue was pretty long when I arrived at 5pm. Thankfully my friends had made a reservation beforehand hence we managed to get such a good view.
In Bali, it is best to rent transport beforehand so that you can get to your destination easily. Our entire trip to Bali was a smooth one thanks to reliable transport and awesome friends. Thank you Levi and Henry for being such good hosts and taking such good care of us during the stay!
