(BEAUTY SERVICE REVIEW) Misty Eyebrow Embroidery at Allure Beauty Salon

I’m really very happy with my eyebrow embroidery, finally!

I did several eyebrow embroidery throughout the years and the one with Allure Beauty was my fourth one. (I went to the outlet at City Square Mall). The ones that I had previously were not too bad, but the pigments just could not stay on for long. I’m blaming this on the nature of my skin. 🤣

Allure Beauty’s Signature Misty Eyebrow Embroidery is their latest eye brow embroidery technique developed for one whose ideal is to have natural looking brows, yet giving off a well drawn brows effect. This certainly attracts me a lot and the thought of saving my time from drawing my brows make me feel excited.

Misty Eyebrow Embroidery will give a soft, natural-looking brows with dual layers of embroidery. This new technique ensures that the eye brows embroidery lasts longer and looks more natural. The gradient effect is achieved by first embroidering the base layer to cover the bare skin to prep for better colour penetration of the second layer of embroidery. Brow strokes will appear more fine and natural just like your own brow hairs.

In case you didn’t know, the key feature that makes a face prominent is not the nose, eyes or mouth but our eye brows! A good set of brows frame our face lovelily and enhanced the other features on your face. Without eyebrows, we look unkemptly bad, restless and lack of confidence. Try shaving off your eyebrows and you will get what I mean. 😉

My brows are always unequal looking because my one eye is larger than the other. Hence having the right brow shape can actually reduced this flaw of me visually. I wasn’t blessed with the skill to draw my brows skillfully so Misty Eyebrow Embroidery seemed to be a good solution to it.

Allure Beauty is well known for their expertise in brows embroidery. Finding a salon with brow experts who listen & care are important and they fulfilled my requirements. Moreover, they are reasonably priced for the standards they gave. Anyway, you should not be choosing a salon based on their prices because a bad brow embroidery will cost you more than anything else. 😭

After completing my basic questionnaire (health and areas of concern), the brow artist applied a good layer of numbing cream onto my brows for 30 mins. After which, she cleaned them and examined my face to design the brows that are looking the best on me. Coming to an agreement and satisfied with the drawings, she took me into a comfortable room where I laid and get the Misty Brow Embroidery started.

Based on the color of my hair and skin tone, she selected a suitable pigment for my brow embroidery. Brand new micro blade and good pigments are used so that the completed brows will not turned reddish or greenish overtime.

Each of the strand of brow hair drawn is painstakingly beautiful, unique and surreal; looking so alike to the real brows. Take a closer look and you will see the direction of the drawn brow matching to the growth of the real brow, excellent art work! Allure Beauty is so dedicated and sincere in their service by making sure that they have got me the right shape and thickness for my brows at all angles and different lightings. The whole process took around 1 1/2 hours but fret not, because Allure Beauty is very comfortable to be at with its warm ambiance and amenities.

For the next 7 days, I’m advised to keep my brows dry and refraining them from water especially during bathing and washing of face. Knowing that the aftercare for brow embroidery is important, the founder of Allure Beauty Ms. Angela Tnee gave specifications on what are her requirements and hence the special formulated antiseptic cream is created. This can purchased from the salon to ensure better healing without infection or inflammation and better color retention. I will be going back to Allure Beauty in a month’s time to touch up and fine tune the brows to its finalized stage; Misty Brow Embroidery should last up to a year or two.

Misty Eyebrow Embroidery gave me a soft, natural-looking brows with dual layers of embroidery. There is no downtime and I’m ready to flaunt a new me with natural looking, well defined brows that look just like my own but only better!

(PRODUCT SHARING) Furikake from Yamasu Japan at Metro IPPIN Section

Furikake (振り掛け / ふりかけ) is like a magic because it makes food that you sprinkled on so tasty.

The Japanese love their rice topped with something simple but flavorful such as raw egg, umeboshi, natto, furikake, & etc. For me, I love furikake the most because it is very tasty, convenient and beautiful aesthetically.

There are 3 types of furikake from Yamasu imported by IPPIN available in their shops. I have tried them and I love them all!

First up is the Plum Flake Furikake ($9). This has got amazing plum flavor, just like having umeboshi. Difference is, this has added white sesame seeds, mackerel and bonito flakes, a very appetizing and uplifting seasoning and goes really well with rice. 😋

Next up, the Sesame Flake Furikake ($9). Sesame lovers must get this because it has a good mixture of black & white sesame seeds that tasted extra fragrant with the kelp powder in it. I love to sprinkle this on my chee cheong fun (steamed rice rolls) to give extra crunch and tastiness.

My favorite of all is their Dried Baby Sardines Flake Furikake ($9). This tasted so good and can be used on rice, porridge, meat, fish, salad or anything you fancy. You can even mix this in your mayonnaise for dipping to fried food! The lovely aroma from the sardines and umaminess from other fishes (mackerels & bonito) make this furikake very appetizing and healthy. The beautiful colors make my dishes very pretty too!

Get these Yamasu Furikake at IPPIN and make your own magic. 💫 They can be found at Metro Paragon (lvl 2) & Metro Centrepoint (lvl 4) IPPIN section along with many others food selections from Japan.

(PRODUCT SHARING) ANTE Suika Hime Watermelon Soda at Metro IPPIN Section

On a hot sweaty day or cool breezy night, Ante Watermelon Soda is perfect and lit!

This watermelon soda ($7) comes in a cute glass bottle with a sweet smelling watermelon scent once you opened the cap! It is also beautiful like diamond in the sky with those sparkling watermelon fibers.

The watermelons used are harvested from Kanazawa Dune, near to the Sea of Japan. The sand dunes are very cold in the morning, hot in the daytime and cool at night. The temperature differences of the sand dunes and the pure groundwater pumped from deep underground increase the sweetness of these Kanazawa watermelon.

This watermelon soda is also added with seawater salt from Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which is rare and very tasty.

A slightly sweet and refreshing cider that gives you a taste of salt while quenching your thirst! Drink it chilled or with ice for the best satisfaction. Get this Watermelon Soda at Metro Paragon (lvl 2) & Metro Centrepoint (lvl 4) IPPIN section along with many others food selections from Japan.

(PRODUCT SHARING) Marumo The One Japan Tea from Shizuoka at Metro IPPIN Section

One of the thing I’ve learnt from the Japanese and trying to follow diligently is to adopt a tea drinking habit.

Knowing that the teas are full of antioxidants and could keep our cells energized and healthy, I tell myself must drink it regularly!

Marumo The One Japan Tea from Shizuoka has many varieties. Shizuoka accounts for almost half of Japan’s overall tea production, and this prefecture has premium tea plantations because of its water quality and climate for production. In addition, Shizuoka’s tea can comes in a number of varieties, giving them very significant versatility.

IPPIN has imported not 1 but 8 varieties from Marumo and they are ranged differently by how the tea leaves are harvested, processed and serving suggestion.

The varieties include:

• Sencha (common green tea)
• Genmaicha (roasted rice + Sencha)
• Houjicha (toasted green tea)
• Umegashima (exclusive green tea coming from a tea garden instead of mountain)
• Fukamushicha (similar to Sencha but steamed for longer period)
• Gyokuro (highest class of green tea among all because of special treatment before harvesting)
• Boucha (made from stems of green tea plant)
• Konacha (powder that comes from production of Sencha)

Pick something that you fancy and start your tea drinking habit now. You can find these teas (ranging from $8 to $66) at Metro’s Paragon (level 2) & Metro Centrepoint (level 4) IPPIN section along with many others food selections from Japan.

A multipurpose cooker is an essential for a functional kitchen in modern homes

I really like this MIDEA MMR5025 RICE COOKER from Midea. It looks pretty sleek, compact and is as multifunctional as a bulky pressure cooker which I fancied previously, costing 3 times more than this!

Look at multiple preset menu. I’m hungry! Hahaha. This comes with smart 24 hours preset timer too. Imagine waking up to hot yummy porridge or coming home to warm fluffy rice where we just prepare everything in the pot and let the cooker do the magic, I like it. The cooker has soft touch control with LED display, very user friendly.

Check out this thick 2.5mm multiple layers pot (8 layers) that retains heat effectively. It has a nonstick surface because of Teflon Non-stick Layer while The Oxidation Resistant Layer, Honeycomb Shaped Layer, Alloy Oxide Layer and Thread Heat Conduction Layer ensure food is being cooked evenly at a faster speed. The dedicated design of the pot also matches the concave heating element of the cooker seamlessly.

Now, the bonus part, MIDEA MMR5025 RICE COOKER comes with a stainless steel steam tray that could endure high level of heat 🤩🤩🤩. This means you can use this cooker as a steamer or steaming delicious side dishes such as vegetable, meats or even frozen products while cooking the rice, literally a one pot sumptuous meal without any hassle.

While the cooker looks into dedication for every part such as a detachable coverplate and steam vent cap where you can clean all residue after cooking, expect nothing but an easy to understand using experience. Simple accessories such as a measuring cup, rice scoop, soup ladle and power cord in additional to the metal steaming tray with the cooker. The user guide is well illustrated with clear instructions too. 👍🏻

Guess what I’m making today? Not cooking rice, porridge or soup. Not steaming frozen siew mai or lotus paste buns too. I will be making my own yoghurt with Midea cooker’s Yogurt Making Function!

The plan is really simple. Press ‘Cook Menu’ till you selected ‘Yogurt’ as an option, put in your ingredients and give a period of 8 hours patience. Viola! A healthy low sugar home made yogurt is formed!

A 1L of cow’s milk can yields 100ml of yogurt but I’m using oats milk instead which is suitable for lactose intolerant people. The 2-in-1 coffee powder I’ve added prior to fermentation is optional and you can experiment with cocoa powder, fruits purée or anything you fancy too! The flavors should be added after the yogurt is formed but I’m experimenting for this recipe and it turned out well for me.

Homemade yogurt is full of gut friendy bacteria and should be eaten on regular basis. You can add any toppings you like and I like chia seeds and cocoa nibs in particularly. Drizzle some honey too if you like it sweet but I will usually skip it because of trying to reduce my sugar intake whenever I could.

I read somewhere that mood is made in the gut as there is a constant bi-directional communication between the brain and GI tract. The healthier your GI tract or gut health is, the happier you are. No harm believing and eat the right yogurt since sugary store bought ones are not exactly healthy anyway.

You can find MIDEA MMR5025 RICE COOKER (1.8L) with recommended selling price at around SGD$130, available in major electrical stores and Qoo10 platform.

Topp Care Hair Solutions gives good Customized Hair Treatment and Services

Topp Care Hair Solutions – the US Trichology Institute Certified Specialist is now conveniently located in Simei Eastpoint Mall.

I have been worried about the condition of my hair and scalp and came across Topp Care and decided to give it a try. Being an awardee for Best Customer Service 2018 by SHESA (Singapore Heartland Enterprise Star Award), Topp Care pampered me with their professionalism and hospitality. The ambiance and interior of this new outlet at Simei Eastpoint Shopping Mall is spacious and modern, an upgrade from its previous outlet in the neighborhood of Tampines.

Topp Care uses natural Western Botanical Ingredients to solve hair problems such as hair loss, oily/dry scalp, grey hair, etc and are certified by the US Trichology Institute as well as a Member of the British Herbal Medicine Association.

When I arrived, Helen warmly ushered me into a room where I completed a questionnaire on my hair conditions before shelooked through them.

Subsequently, a Hair & Scalp Analysis was performed that uses a scanner lens magnifying up to 200 times. This helps to analyze my scalp condition and provides a good visual proof of the improved scalp condition after treatments are administered.

Depending on the conditions of your hair and scalp, the consultant will advise you on the suitable treatment(s) for a customized experience. I was surprised after finding out my scalp condition. I was diagnosed having oily scalp with pore blockages and if this is not treated properly, it will lead to hair thinning and eventually, hair lost.

Helen recommended me the Detoxdren Treatment which will help to regulate the amount of sebum of my scalp while removing blockages and residues surrounding the hair pores.

A revitalizing Hair Bath with botanical shampoo and conditioner are applied along with therapeutic massage. This process helps the scalp to restore its sebum balance while keeping it refresh and stress-free. I have never felt so relaxed in a long time.

The final step of the procedure ended with an InfraRed Therapy which said to increase the absorption rate of active ingredients, reducing of scalp inflammations while increasing the blood flow.

Conclusion: I can feel that my scalp got cleaner and fresher with my hair feeling lighter and bouncier because it is not weighed down due to oiliness which I had previously. To maintain the effectiveness or improve the condition, regular treatment is definitely encouraged and one should start to take care of their scalp and hair health as early as 15 years old.

For people who have greying and thinning hair, I recommend you to try their Signature Absolutte Masque Hair Treatment. It is formulated to counteract age-related hair changes while reversing the symptoms of grey hair and providing essential nutrients for hair loss prevention. This treatment also cleanses the scalp and follicles from impurities to prevent scalp from premature aging while restoring the moisture in them.

Topp Care’s Signature Absolutte Masque Hair Treatment is suitable for people of young and old. The result is naturally thicker and darker hair that one will look and feel good with.

Daily care to the hair is almost as important as visiting Topp Care for treatments. I get to try their Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo and Repair Conditioner for improving of my hair health.

Topp Care Hair Fall Rescue Shampoo cleanses & nourishes scalp that is suitable for people with very fine hair and/or people with hair loss problem. It provides vitality for continuous hair growth as it is packed with rich source of vitamins and anti-oxidants.

This shampoo contains Mandarin Orange Extract, a natural astringent to condition the scalp and combat hair loss and also powerful hair strengthening ingredient Horse Tail Extract. My hair felt reborn with more sheen and volume after a few uses.

Topp Care Repair Conditioner is great for people like me; with dry and damaged hair, especially ones with dry and porous hair that is exposed to intense chemicals frequently. The hair becomes softer and shinier as the conditioner contains valuable ingredients such as peach extract and natural silk protein.

Their range of products are sold in the outlet and can also be purchased at Redmart.

Topp Care is offering an exclusive promotion with its Signature Hair Loss Treatment @ $39 nett with free Hair & Scalp Analysis and Hair Care Kit! (U.P. $229). Create new memories with ARBORA’s majestic sceneries overseeing Mount Faber Park, Harbourfront & Sentosa Island 🌴

———————————————-                ABOUT THE DESIGN

Staying true to its garden dining concept, Arbora’s interior decor is designed to allow the natural surroundings to take centre stage. By the koi pond, a 13 by 3-metre lush foliage feature wall provides a visual anchor to the restaurant that doubles as a gram-able photo backdrop.

Some of Chef Kenny’s highly recommended dishes

Mushroom lovers will certainty relish this dish which features four varieties sautéed to perfection fungi: porcini, black, button and portobello.

The meat is marinated for at least eight hours with port wine to yield a sweet flavour, then braised with red and port wine before serving.

Instead of mint jelly, Chef Kenny uses prune juice mixed with bell pepper and lemon to create a special sauce for the lamb chops. Black prunes are soaked overnight in red wine and flattened with a spoon for chunky finish. Sweet, sour and fruity, the sauce enhances the intense flavor of this Australia sourced lamb.

A fan of duck meat, pan-searing is Chef Kenny’s favourite style as it gives a savoury and robust flavor to the meat, which balanced nicely with the cream sauce.

This stew is a simmering pot of seafood cooked in tomato and shell fish stock. Chef Kenny adds baby abalones, which had been slow cooked for a more tender bite, while the mussels are sourced from Australia and is one of the best in the world.

———————————————            ABOUT THE DRINKS

Arbora offers a variety of refreshing drinks that will surely spoil the guests with choices. From fresh-pressed juices, craft beers to botanical-inspired cocktails, Arbora is an ideal place to hang out for the health-conscious, as well as craft beer lovers and cocktail connoisseurs.
