Concealers are my best friend; I can’t live without one because I’m always in need of some coverage for my pigmentation-filled skin. All those acne scars got me super-reliant on concealers, especially high coverage ones.
Thanks to the team from Too Faced, I got to try one of the best concealers (maybe I should do a top 5 concealers post?) thus far – Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer.
This concealer is no ordinary product – as its name suggests, it’s a multi-use product that helps you to conceal, contour, highlight and retouch, at any time of the day. With 20 shades catered to the fairest to the deepest of skin tones, it’s no wonder this is perfect to contour and highlight as well.
I am a fan of the Too Faced Born This Way range, especially its foundation, but with the launch of this concealer, I find myself ditching the foundation because the formula allows me to just conceal and step out of the house! The formula is oil-free, non-comedogenic and very hydrating. It gives a nice natural finish despite having superb coverage.
Like its Born This Way counterparts, the formula of this multi-use concealer is creamy, smooth and blends easily onto the skin. What’s amazing is that it’s photo-friendly – no flashbacks that transforms you into a disco ball on photos. To show you how creamy and super-coverage the formula is, I’ve drawn a little heart shape using my favourite liquid eyeliner and concealed half of it using this concealer. As you observe, you can almost not see the black liner underneath. Isn’t that awesome?!
I enjoy using this to spot conceal and on red areas of my skin. Considering that it allows me to effectively conceal, I can even use this alone for my complexion.
Before you go wondering how thick the formula must be since it has superb concealing properties, I’m going to tell you that its consistency is light. Well, it’s not as weightless as the M.A.C. Cosmetics Studio Waterweight Concealer but it works just as well.
Like usual concealers, this baby has got a doe foot applicator but made in a diamond shape to allow application in thick lines using the flat surface, as well as thinner lines using the side and tip for precision coverage.
Despite all the praises I’ve given, the product has its shortcomings too. Unlike those in the market, the Too Faced BTW Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer is housed in a rather large glass bottle that’s almost that of liquid foundations. It’s a tad bulky so I’m not too sure if I would even bring it along for my travels.
Oh and before I end off, you can effectively contour and highlight with this sculpting concealer using shades 3 tones darker and 2-3 tones lighter respectively. There are a couple of undertones such as neutrals, warms and cool shades so there’s definitely one that suits you. My shade is Light Beige and I’m a M.A.C. NC20-25.
The Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer retails for USD29 on TooFaced.com. Launch dates and prices for Singapore will be up really soon!
Create yourself and be gorgeous! XOXO, Roanna.
