Phew, the battle is over. I have survived the ~2 hours surgery for my left knee. I had attained a slight tear on my Anterior Cruciate Ligament, which is commonly known as ACL, as well as my meniscus on my left knee when I was in a Netball competition in my college days. So, what happens is on and off, I get my left leg bending in sometimes and then bending out again because the ligament is torn and it can no longer hold the entire knee structure in place. At first my condition improved with about 6 months of physiotherapy and I could walk, run, jump and even wear heels again.
But just one fine day, while I wearing my little red wedges (~2 inches only) that I bought from Hong Kong for about S$8 I think, the shoe strap suddenly broke and wala, I tore my ACL completely. Went to the doc’s and 2 doctors said that I have to go for surgery so I picked up my courage and went for it.
So this is a photo of me pre-surgery:
(I look like I’m in a going to bathe with the shower cap and bathrobe)
Resting for 4 days is no joke. I have been staying home, not moving around so much recently because I injured my knee again. I still can’t believe how I can sprain my knee from a strap that broke from my approximately 2-inches high wedges while walking along City Link. Oh well, the only consolation is that my 2 days of MC were well spent at home doing meaningful things like preparing for an amazing concept launch for Threadless Cove. You can check out my handmade jewelry website here.
Another exciting thing I want to talk about is the May Bellabox! I was sooooooooo excited when the doorbell rang and I see the courier man holding a coraly red parcel for me! This is my first time subscribing to the Bellabox and I must say that I am quite impressed with the quality of the box and the items inside. I was skeptical to try these beauty boxes at first but I found the contents of the May Bellabox to be quite useful for me, hence I decided to subscribe for a few more months just to see how it goes!
So, are you Ready for Cannes?
Hello again! I haven’t had the time to update and post lately due to busy schedules of having to rush to MAAD – the Market for Artists and Designers to showcase my handmade jewelry from Threadless Cove
. If you haven’t had a clue on what this is, you can check it out here
. So, as promised, here is my daily make up routine inclusive of the products I use on a daily basis.
The first step to any makeup routine is definitely to cleanse and wash your face. Over here I kind of forgot to include that but I am using the Neutrogena Deep Clean Foaming Cleanser which effectively removes all dirt and oil and I feel that it really cleanses pretty thoroughly.
So right after cleansing, the first step would be to tone. Use a cotton swab to absorb a little product so that you can clean it all over your face. Here I am using the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner Toner. Even though it claims to be 7-in-1, to me, I don’t really see much effect on pore shrinking and all the other claims. Since it is rather aa huge bottle, I decided to just finish using it and try out a new toner. Tell me if you have any recommendations for toner for oily/combination skin! (:
Holla! It’s a good Saturday, well spent with my beloved Mummy and Sis. Even though I should be studying for my final papers next Tuesday and Wednesday, I still decided to head out for a good brunch (a very late one) and I am so satisfied, ready to finish off the last lap of exams!
So Mummy, Sis and I were randomly walking around Holland Village trying to look for a good place for brunch and we incidentally discovered d’Good Cafe. Thinking that it might be promising, we decided to go ahead with this cafe and we were pleasantly surprised by the decor of the cafe!
273 Holland Avenue
Inside, there are 3 levels altogether, with indoor and outdoor seats and what I really like about this cafe is its really cute and cosy decorations! It gives me the kind of feeling that I am in an overseas cafe! So this is what the coffee bar looks like:
Today I’m going to review another of the Urban Decay Holiday 2012 Collection palettes – The Fun Palette! (Click here for the review on the Feminine Palette). As the name suggests, this palette consists of really fun and vibrant colours for all you makeup junkies to play with! This is the perfect palette if you want to add some bright colours apart from the neutrals you wear every day and I love this palette as well for the purple and blue shadows.
The palette comes in a wallet-sized packaging that comes in really handy when you want to just pop into your bag. It is clothed in a ultra shimmery turqoise patent casing with gold zippers and just like the Feminine Palette, you can detach the palette from its casing to use the casing as a mini wallet/clutch.
