Makeup of the Day: Green on Asian Eyes

Today’s makeup of the day is how to wear green on Asian eyes, and also a review on shu uemura’s pressed eyeshadows. Pardon for the recent rave on shu because I have received quite a lot of palettes (some obsolete, some catalogue products) during the recent office move! (Thank youuuuuuu shu!) 😀
Let’s get into the makeup look without further ado! Presenting the pressed eyeshadows from L-R:
P520 light green – pearlescent pale green
ME580 – satin forest green
ME471 – satin olive taupe
ME996 – metallic brown-toned deep grey
(Note: white case is no longer available, only black case is retailing)

shu uemura: Tint in Gelato Lip & Cheek Tint Review and Swatches

A review up as promised! This is something different from my usual reviews, because I am currently interning in the brand now. It’s going to my honest opinion about the product, as well as lip swatches I did as part of a digital launch project for the brand.
Being a makeup lover, it’s always fun and exciting when makeup brands come up with colourful launches, especially in the eyes and lips categories for me as I really adore eyeshadows, drawing pencils and lip products! This summer, shu uemura (in small letters, pronounced as shoo-oo-eh-moo-ra) came up with a lip and cheek tint, called Tint in Gelato, just in time to hop onto the bandwagon of where the beauty market is going.

The Tint in Gelato (TIG) comes in a velvety soft semi-matte texture and there are 12 delicious shades as follows:

(Note that in Singapore, shades are by code numbers only)

Revival of her-dreamcatcher X #OOTD

Hello lovelies (if there is anyone still here to read my abandoned blog)!

It has really been long since I could write reviews of the piling makeup in my storage area, especially when workload’s been increasing. I miss photographing the pretty (and endless) makeup yet at the same time, whenever I have free time, I’d spend time hanging out with my darling love ones instead or resting. Feels good to be writing again, expressing my thoughts in this humble diary of mine, storing snippets of my life for me to look back upon, and of course, to also share beauty tips and tricks/reviews to those who are into makeup like me! Promise the next review will be up soon!

The reason why I had been so inactive for months was because of the great opportunities in the internship I am having now. I had the chance to plan for a PR event on my own which invited famous local bloggers, media and the trade people behind the renowned shopping malls you see on the streets of Orchard road. Even though I had no prior experience in planning for such an event (does Hall Dinner and Dance count?) that involves influential people, I was excited and felt accomplished to have made the event a success with the help of my friendly shu team! 🙂 Without the support of my bosses, I wouldn’t have been able to execute it fully, so thank you shu team!

2 more months to end my internship and I can’t wait to take a break from the hectic work lifestyle. It’s definitely an industry that I want to continue working in (not just because of all the freebies :P) because of my passion for all-things-beauty, however, I feel that it’s almost impossible to strike a work-life balance judging from how hard my colleagues are working. Oh well, gotta go back to school for another semester before I decide on my career path..

Anyway, here’s an #ootd (outfit of the day) to end this post, enjoy!

Decked in my magenta midi skirt and holographic shoes from I looooooove the midi skirt for its thick material and $25 is really worth it for the quality! However, if you are interested in the shoes, I suggest you think twice because I wouldn’t pay $39 for a pair of shoes that I predict wouldn’t last for 2-3 months if I were to wear it all day long. Nevertheless, I still love this outfit 🙂
Here’s a close up!

Urban Decay: Naked 3 Palette Review and Swatches

Hello my beauty lovelies! It has been almost 6 months since I’ve updated this blog of mine! Sorry for the lack of updates. Since my internship in L’Oreal Singapore, I haven’t had enough time to rest, let alone blog! Finally found time to write in this space so today I am going to review my newest addition to my Urban Decay family *drumrolls* – the highly raved Naked 3 Palette! Thanks to my lovely dear for getting it for me for Valentine’s Day!

Without further ado, here goes! Mega loooooove for the rose gold packaging cause I absolutely adore rose gold! Such a romantic colour (: As with Naked 2, Naked 3 comes in a sturdy metal tin which closes with a “click” (totally adore the packaging). The only thing that I don’t really fancy would be the crinkly texture on the tin which I don’t understand why.

Urban Decay: Dangerous Palette Review & Swatches

The long awaited last review on the Urban Decay Fun, Feminine and Dangerous Palettes for their 2012 Holiday collection! It’s kind of a complete one year lag on reviewing these babies but nevertheless I’m still going to complete the collection of reviews today.
Today’s review is about the Dangerous Palette, increasingly becoming my all-time favourite eyeshadow palette when I feel like doing dark smokey looks. The palette comes in a black patent material casing with a sword in the middle (dangerous indeed). I ‘ve always found it fascinating that the Fun, Feminine and Dangerous palettes double up as a mini wallet/clutch (except that you can’t really place your phones or bank cards inside due to the magnetic strip inside) when you remove the palette inside. This is how the palette looks like:

All palettes come with a mini lip junkie and there is a mini mirror on one side as well. The palette itself can be taken out for the casing to be used as a wallet/clutch. A little disappointment from this palette I got was that when I opened it, I realised that there was a little defect for Mushroom – the name printed on it was faded. I guess I’m probably the only unlucky one out of 10000 palettes they produce to get the little misprint, but oh well, the palette is still really pretty with the smokey, rosey? background.

When opened, there are 6 eyeshadows in there and a travel-sized lip junkie. What I really love about this palette is the deep green shade Loaded and the taupish grey Mushroom which allows you to do really dark smokey eye looks.

Each eyeshadow is 0.03 oz (compared to an Urban Decay full-sized shadow at 0.05 oz) while the mini lip junkie is 0.11 oz (compared to the full-sized Lip Junkie at 0.34 oz).

Here are the colours:
Gravity – Purple with silver and pink fine micro-glitters
Loaded – Deep blackened forest green
Evidence – Deep bright metallic navy blue
Deeper – Metallic brown
Mushroom – Satin silvery taupe
Ace – Metallic grey

Wallflower (Feminine Palette) / Midnight Cowboy (Fun Palette) / Naked (Dangerous Palette)

And the lip junkie Naked is just a nudish pink gloss colour that just blends in to my lip colour, kind of like a my-lips-but-better (MLBB) shade. The only thing I do like about the formula is that it leaves a minty cooling sensation when applied, keeping me refreshed.

The Dangerous Palette can be purchased at all Sephora SG stores and it retails for S$62 or alternatively, you can get it at Urban Decay’s website here. Bear in mind that Urban Decay does not directly ship to Singapore.

Here’s a look using entirely the Dangerous Palette and the corresponding OOTD:

Main Lid Colour: Mushroom
Outer V: Deeper
Lower Lid Colour: Ace and Loaded

Hope you’ve enjoyed the review and let me know in the comments section what do you think of the Dangerous Palette! The Feminine Palette review can be found here and the Fun Palette here.

Create yourself and be gorgeous, girls! ♡
