Goodbye September, here comes a new month again! As always, at the end of every month, I love to summarise my beauty favourites for the month because it allows me to share the products that I have been loving for the entire month (well, almost).
Well, for me, September has been experimenting with lots of new products again, due to a swap box I did and many other purchases as well. Basically, I have been loving face finishing products and a variety of colours for different looks. I am also using a little cute red ethnic-looking bowl as a decoration to this spread.
Let’s hop right into my picks for September!
“Lisa, if I’ve learned anything, it’s that life is just one crushing defeat after another until you just wish Flanders was dead.” – The Simpsons.
Honestly, I have never watched nor read anything from The Simpsons series, but I thought this packaging from MAC is really adorable, hence I had to lay my hands on them! 😀 Heard that the collection was selling out fast at all MAC stores in Singapore so I was really happy to be able to purchase these from the US web itself, all thanks to my dear IG friend Sylvia (@syloft
)! Without further ado, let’s look into the items I got!
Just look at the lovely packaging! The palette actually feels heavy, and I mistook it for being metal! Also, I like that the design is printed on, not like a cheap sticker, such quality! I think this may be one of the few collections that I do keep the packaging boxes intact too! 😀
Aloha! It’s finally my recess week so it’s a week of relaxing for me, I initially thought. However, good news came my way and I got shortlisted for the Unilever Future Leaders’ League 2014, my second year participating in this case challenge. I hope that I am able to clinch the champs because this year, the champion team is heading to London in March 2015 for the global finals! I absolutely can’t wait! 🙂
In the mean time, here are 2 iPhone casings that the team from Glow.inthedark_casings
) sent over to me, just in time when I needed a change of my iPhone cover because it has lots and lots of scratches already. Hehe just look at the Eiffel Tower designs! Aren’t they pretty? I have always loved the Eiffel Tower and all-things-Paris when I was a little girl so these just made my day!
It’s time for a review on the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner (why can’t it be spelt the right way – freshener =.=) after using it twice a day, every day for about 2 weeks or so. I usually test the product out for about 2 weeks (for skincare) before deciding if it works on my skin.
The Wonder Pore Freshner is labelled as an “Ultra Pore Solution, 10-in-1” that boasts of a plethora of skincare benefits:
Removes leftover makeup – CHECKED!
Lightly acidifies skin to optimal pH 5.5 level
Controls sebum – CHECKED!
Minimises pores – SOMEWHAT CHECKED!
Treats uneven skintone
Maintains skin elasticity
Smoothens skin textire
Get rids of impurities and dead skin cells – CHECKED!
Refreshes and cool the skin – SOMEWHAT CHECKED!
Basically, comparing to the previous formulation, the Wonder Pore Freshner 7-in-1
(see my short comment on it from my old makeup routine), this formula provides more skincare benefits and in my opinion worked a lot better for my skin. Here are the 2 products I received from Etude House Singapore.
Half the month of September have passed already and oh gosh I have to say that my school work is piling like crazy! I really can’t wait for recess week for a well-deserved break. Juggling between school work and working part-time as a beauty stylist isn’t the best because I totally feel the fatigue kicking in already!
Thank goodness for a lovely surprise box from Bellabox that came my way to lighten my mood and take away a little bit of the fatigue! Cheers to beauty surprises! 🙂
This September, Bellabox is going vogue. The theme of this blue beauty box is Urban Vibes – expect up and coming brands as well as products that will help your skin curb the horrors of the monsoon season! There is also a GORGEOUS product in there which is MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE in the box (see it already? *winks*)!
A Bellabox mess from my unravel of the blue box! There are just too many things that I don’t know where to start from!
