Create your own fashion statement on your eyes with the Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palettes (Edgitorial & Frivoluxe): Review, Swatches & Makeup Looks

Bold is the new black. Ditch the boring, flat beiges and browns. Stand out and make a fashion statement with a daring eye look, using the completely new Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palettes.

Eyeshadows have always been my thing – I love to make the craziest of colours work for me. The possibilities are endless! With the new generation of eyeshadow palettes, you can express yourself with dimensional neutrals, brilliant pops of colour with four fashion finishes. “With any way you style your eyes, you’re sure to make your marc (mark)”.

The eye-conic multi-finish eyeshadow palettes are designed with inspiration from fashion, hence the four finishes – buttery matte velvet, shimmering satin, sparkling silk and metallic lamé (a type of fabric woven or knit with thin ribbons of metallic fibre).

There are altogether 6 outstanding palettes with each featuring a curated explosion of provocative shades and textures. They are formulated with an ultra-luxe, super-plush new eyeshadow formulation, which in my opinion, are much better than its previous range. You can literally dress your lids in those velvety-rich pigments that last all day! It’s totally going to be a fashion runway right on your peepers!

The 6 palettes are:

  • Provocouture – a mix of rich taupes, browns and a provocative-couture fuchsia
  • Glambition – a mix of peach and glamorous dark browns
  • Frivoluxe – a mix of pale pinks, luxe greys and a frivolous bright purple
  • Scandalust – a mix of scandalous neutrals with a pop of lusty magenta
  • Edgitorial – a mix of edgy neutrals with a pop of editorial-worth metallic gold
  • Smartorial – a mix of champagne and earthy tones with a sartorial royal blue

Just look at those names! I love how they combined two words to form each of the palettes’ names. It’s super fun, edgy and really, just bold. I have with me 2 out of the 6 palettes – Frivoluxe and Edgitorial.

They generally swatch super well (yes, even the mattes are pigmented and buttery smooth!!) and can be blended on the skin pretty easily even though they are highly pigmented. As much as I love all 6 palettes, they aren’t the most friendly to work with, given the choice of shades in each palette are quite bold and daring. It’s definitely not for the beginners, with the exception of Glambition.

Swatches of Edgitorial

My favourites are Smartorial, Frivoluxe and Edgitorial. I really cannot just single out that ONE palette to be my favourite because they contain such a diverse range of shades for me to be able to pick just one! As I only have got Frivoluxe and Edgitorial with me, I’ve done a frivolous and luxe eye makeup look with Frivoluxe and an edgy, editorial one with Edgitorial, complete with step-by-step picture tutorials.

Even though the palettes might seem pretty hard to work with given the bright pops of colours, I find that I can still make it wearable for a day-to-day corporate look.

Enough said, let’s have the pictures do the talking!
