2017 has been a year of ups and downs for me, and I believe for many as well. Whether it be your career, relationships or individual wellbeing, I wish to tell you this – “Take things in stride”.
Taking things in your stride means to accept advances or setbacks as the normal course of events in your life, and to deal with them calmly. This is something I’ve learnt to do in 2017, in all aspects of my life.
It’s always a dilemma when it comes to the question of, “What do I wear today?” This is especially so when you’re travelling, isn’t it? I often find myself not being able to pack light because I want to bring the entire season’s fashion trend with me in my luggage so that I can have choices. The matter of fact is that you only have got 23-30kg to fly with you even after your crazy shopping so you cannot be over-packing!
My recent Seoul trip taught me never to try bringing my entire wardrobe again because ultimately, I was re-wearing some of my comfy sweater pieces over my thermal wear. I ended up with a couple of clothes unworn so, here are some tips and OOTDs (Outfit Of The Day) from my Seoul searching trip earlier this month, just to give you an idea of what to dress for the winter season. I’ll be ending the post with a Style Challenge video too!
I just came back from Seoul, Korea, recently and I’m still wishing I was back in the cold, with occasional snow while walking down the shopping streets of Garosu-gil, Hongdae and Myeongdong.
It’s 25 years into my life and it was my virgin visit to the popular travel destination, South Korea, to attend a K-Beauty conference – Made in Korea (MIK) 2017 – courtesy of MyFatPocket. It was my first time travelling with MFP’s Editor, Xinyi (@xinyicyndisoh) too. This short trip was a rather fruitful one as I got acquainted with many K-Beauty brands that are looking to expand to our tiny little red dot, ate many local dishes and bought even more makeup!
Before all the beauty reviews continue to populate Paradeoflove, I just want to pen down some of the interesting things I encountered in this metropolitan city, including beauty recommendations, food I’ve tried and some of the Instagram-worthy spots for your OOTDs in your next trip.
Summer vacation is a time when memories are made. It’s the most exhilarating season, as destinations gleam in the sunlight, inviting you to leave a footprint. It’s no doubt that the sun is great, but living in Singapore where we get the scorching sun all year round, I’m thinking twice about going on a summer holiday to be exposed to more sun and heat. I know we’re transiting into Fall now but well, the wanderlust in me is acting up, so I just wanted to share my thoughts about Summer Travels.
Honestly, I’d rather travel to cooler destinations such as Australia because this continent’s summertime is not in sync with the others. Where it’s summer mostly in the States, or the European cities, it’s usually Autumn/Winter in the months of May to August, which means cold weather! I mean, why spend a bomb to experience summer when you get it all year round?
It’s been long since I last talked about the thoughts that are going around in my head. Lately, I’ve been feeling really uninspired and disappointed with life. I haven’t been feeling so emotional since my last heartbreak but somehow, matters in the family and the unpleasant blogging/influencers (whatever you want to call it) scene have been injecting real negative thoughts into me. I mean, we’re all human; we are all entitled to feel what we want to, right?
You know, they say “Every family has its own struggles”. It’s true, no matter big or small. Going through what I am going through, I must say that it’s really, really tough having to handle so much. Well, I know God will never give us challenges that we can’t handle, but sometimes, I feel that I need a break from all this craziness. I need an undisturbed week, or even month to myself in order to recharge and face the problems again. When you keep having lemons thrown to you while you’re trying to figure things out, it can get quite tiring.
