What comes to mind when you think about a place serving american cuisine? Burgers, ribs and fried chicken are the common answers right? hmmm…. well not quite! You will be pleasantly surprised.
Located on the 1st level of 111 Sommerset, Seasons Bistro is located at a easy to access place. This 3-months old set up offers a cosy ambience in a spacious dinning environment. As the name suggest, Seasons Bistro offers different menus with different seasons. They are currently serving their ‘summer’ menu.
Food was served shortly after i have made my choices on the menu. We will be having 2 starters. The first being seared yellow tail tuna served on a big taco. A thick and generous piece of tuna with a thick cream sauce was surprising tasty. Fresh shallots used added an interesting taste to the dish.
Next, was a salad before we moved on to our main course. This is the grilled portobello salad with wine vinegrade. The sour after taste sort of refreshes the palatte.
We started our main course with buttermilk fried chicken. The chicken was tender and juicy. What surprises me was the tomato dip for the chicken. The ketchup has a flavourful passion fruit and mango taste to it. We were then informed that all the sauce and dips are made from scratch by the chef in the kitchen.
Up next is the surf and turf dish. The seafood and meat is stewed together with fried rice.
We had 3 desserts to complete our meal. The first was a typical carrot cake. This is my favourite! There is a generous serving of pecan and walnut in the cake and the amount of cinnammon used was just right.
They have mojito tart….
And our last was the strawberry shortcake…. the specials for that night. Strawberries used were all soaked in wine to give the taste a “punch”. All pastries are made in-house, something i like cos at least you know they are not being mass-produced.
A group pic with Michelle and Laura before we end the night.
The dining experience at Seasons Bistro was such a pleasant one. The menu offers a good variety and they even have vegetarian options from starters to the mains. The american cuisine offered has so much more variety, the seasonally-changing menus draw inspiration from a myriad of cuisines in the America, which is a good change from the usual burgers and ribs. Resturants offers all-day dining. I will definitely come back again.
