Attended a Botox and filler session Demo at Prive Clinic last wed. It was a interesting session as there was a ‘live’ demo done on fellow resident blogger, Wendy Ashley. I have always been curious about botox and fillers. I have heard a lot of superficial information about them but have never seen how the procedure is being carried out. Dr Soh will be carrying out a procedures on Wendy, botox on her jawline, fillers on her nose and eyebags.

After Wendy’s demo, Dr Soh asked for another volunteer for botox. As I have always been game for any non-invasive procedures, I volunteered myself willingly.

This is my first time meeting Dr Soh in person. In the past, i was only able to leave questions for Dr Soh on the MFP forum. It was great meeting her in person. She was so nice and warm. She stayed to answer our long list of questions even after the event. It was a very ‘fruitful’ evening for us as Dr Soh was very truthful, frank and professional with her recommendations. At least we now know our options if we would like to enhance certain areas of our body or our features.
According to Dr Soh, Botox will achieve best effect in 2 week. I will have to go back for follow-up in a fortnight’s time. I have taken pictures of my jaw in the last few days, will share more pics in 2 weeks’ time.

With the HDB rules making changes for pets, lets hope we will find more pet-friendly places soon. Its really a big step forward. Who knows…. maybe someday i will able to bring my baby to shopping malls. LOL..
“Michiko Suzuki”, a name that was so new to me until i met her in an recent interview when she was in Singapore to promote her collection at Parco Next Next.
The brief information that I had was that she has been a designer, working under the great master, Yohji Yamamoto, for 8 years to design “Y’s red label”. Prior to the interview, I have not seen her collection, nor have i heard of her name. I ought to be ashamed for someone who likes Japanese fashion so much.
My first impression when i met her…. she came across as someone very gentle and quiet. Was pleasantly surprised that the 2 racks of her collection at the store, proved to be louder than her personality. I fell in love with her collection instantly.
I went back to Parco the following date to check out her collection as there was a fashion show, featuring her Spring/Summer 2012 collection that was available for pre-order as well. Tried on a few pieces of her work and in the end, picked up a top and a dress for the coming collection. She helped me with the outfits and even offered to ”customize” the dress to a color that i like. She won my heart from that moment on.
I eventually understood why i like her designs… they are strong but yet feminine. She has an eye on details and draps. I did a little search on her work some time after i got home. I was very very impressed with her past and present collection.
her spring summer 2012 collection… the use of basic black and white for most of her collection was quite a daring move for a start from the usually colorful spring/summer. Her collection of musculine and feminine combination was enhanced by her cuts of her suits and pants. For those who prefers things that are very feminine, the use of laces and chiffon are the pieces to look out for.
Anime Fest 2011 was held at Suntec City from 11-13 nov 2011. Even though i am not an anime fan, i have to admit i really enjoy attending the annual anime festival. This was my second time attending the AFA. i felt that it was really interesting to see anime fans and supporters coming together to share their passion and collections. It was also a good chance to see all the cosplayers getting together to dress in their favourite characters or persona.

Enjoyed myself despite the crowd present at the Fair. Simply impossible to shop or buy anything at all. It took me almost 3 hours to finish visiting all the booths. But the layout and assortment of exhibitors and products were really interesting for me. I will be back next year. Hopefully, will get a chance to interview the overseas cosplay celebrity..
The interview with makiyo is out ! It was the 1-1 interview i had done with her when she was in spore to promote the skincare brand for Sophie Monk.
A known celebrity , one whom i have only seen on TV was just a few feet away from me as i waited patiently for her to complete her interview session with one of the Japanese magazines. It all seemed so unbelievable.

My first impression? she looked like a doll…. pretty, good skin and great body. She smiled and answered all her questions patiently. However, she was not so comfortable when she was being interviewed in english.

Then it was my turn… my heart was beating so fast! This was the first time i interviewed a celebrity. Frankly, i wasnt sure what to do. There were butterflies in my tummy when she sat down next to me. Up close, she was even prettier. I blurted out some greetings in japanese and she replied. I told her i was really nervous and to my surprise, she gave me a pat on my shoulder and told me to relax. I felt better after that, as i could sense that she was pretty at ease with herself.

I told her that the interview will be done in japanese and mandarin so i can be more ‘connected’ with her. She agreed readily. From that moment onwards, everything proceeded smoothly.

The interview went well. I was surprised that she was so casual, relaxed and it felt that I was just talking to a long lost friend. We completely lost track of time as i was only given 15 mins for the session.
Makiyo was different from her TV persona…. the projection of a party goer, a sex bomb, someone not easy to get close too. All those images disappeared. What i saw was a person… warm personality, easy going. She enjoyed food especially Singaporean food like our Hainanese chicken rice. I gave her my contact and told her that i will bring her to good, authentic ones when she next visit. She asked her manager to hand me a name card and told me to contact her when i next visit Taipei. Frankly, I was a bit shocked. Have not expected anything as i thought she was just being polite to the media. She even gave me an autographed copy of her new album with my name. I was really touched.
Just as she was getting up to prepare for her next interview, she suddenly turned and commented that i looked like a native Japanese. Also, I reminded her of someone familiar, that she will email to me if she recalls.

Full name : Kawashima Makiyo
DOB: 12 jun 1984
Ethnicity : Japanese and Taiwanese
Born in Japan, moved to taiwan at 10yrs old. Broke into the entertainment scene at 16 with an appearance in a handphone commercial and subsequently released her 1st chinese album named “Makiyo”.
Took a break from singing in 2004, Makiyo continued her career in the Taiwan entertainment industry thru appearance in drama series, variety shows, publishing photo books and even hosting programmes. She has recently made a comeback into music industry, with her new album “Girls Power”.
Makiyo has established a niche for herself as a beauty and fashion guru with her frequent appearance in TV programs to talk about such topics. She has been a favourite amongst various fashion labels and beauty brands.
