Attended a Botox and filler session Demo at Prive Clinic last wed. It was a interesting session as there was a ‘live’ demo done on fellow resident blogger, Wendy Ashley. I have always been curious about botox and fillers. I have heard a lot of superficial information about them but have never seen how the procedure is being carried out. Dr Soh will be carrying out a procedures on Wendy, botox on her jawline, fillers on her nose and eyebags.
at the reception area of prive clinic
Dr Soh explaining the procedure
Dr Soh started with the jawline botox..
after completion of the botox, wendy will have a "gua zi" face (almond-shaped face)
other mfp members at the event
next, Dr Soh will be performing fillers for wendy's nose.
injecting along the nose and massaging in the fillers
look! can you see wendy's new nose? she has a nose bridge instantly.
the eyebag fillers was done within mins.. wendy survived the jab. she describe the pain as 'ant-bite'
After Wendy’s demo, Dr Soh asked for another volunteer for botox. As I have always been game for any non-invasive procedures, I volunteered myself willingly.
waiting for the numbing cream to kick in.. this is my first botox experience
Dr Soh explaining what she will be doing for me
i am gonna have a slimmer face after this. yeah!
here we go..
finishing up with the other side of the jaw.... cant wait to see the results
its done within 5 mins for both sides of the jaw... pain level? probably a 1!
Q&A with Dr Soh after the procedure
there was even a lucky draw for the MFP members who attended.
our fellow resident blogger Shiella was the lucky gal.
Posing for a group pic....
This is my first time meeting Dr Soh in person. In the past, i was only able to leave questions for Dr Soh on the MFP forum. It was great meeting her in person. She was so nice and warm. She stayed to answer our long list of questions even after the event. It was a very ‘fruitful’ evening for us as Dr Soh was very truthful, frank and professional with her recommendations. At least we now know our options if we would like to enhance certain areas of our body or our features.
According to Dr Soh, Botox will achieve best effect in 2 week. I will have to go back for follow-up in a fortnight’s time. I have taken pictures of my jaw in the last few days, will share more pics in 2 weeks’ time.
For friends who have not heard of Prive Clinic, Prive is a one-stop aesthetic clinic that provides non-invasive treatments and preventive health care services. Some captured moments of Mie as I was going out …..
a grouchy mie said: sigh, leaving me at home again !
Mie said : i am ignoring you
turning on her full charm one last time, mie said: mummy, do you really have to go?
Makes me feel so guilty every time i leave the house without her. Well, thats what ‘paw-power’ is all about isnt it? With the HDB rules making changes for pets, lets hope we will find more pet-friendly places soon. Its really a big step forward. Who knows…. maybe someday i will able to bring my baby to shopping malls. LOL..
“Michiko Suzuki”, a name that was so new to me until i met her in an recent interview when she was in Singapore to promote her collection at Parco Next Next.
The brief information that I had was that she has been a designer, working under the great master, Yohji Yamamoto, for 8 years to design “Y’s red label”. Prior to the interview, I have not seen her collection, nor have i heard of her name. I ought to be ashamed for someone who likes Japanese fashion so much.
My first impression when i met her…. she came across as someone very gentle and quiet. Was pleasantly surprised that the 2 racks of her collection at the store, proved to be louder than her personality. I fell in love with her collection instantly.
I went back to Parco the following date to check out her collection as there was a fashion show, featuring her Spring/Summer 2012 collection that was available for pre-order as well. Tried on a few pieces of her work and in the end, picked up a top and a dress for the coming collection. She helped me with the outfits and even offered to ”customize” the dress to a color that i like. She won my heart from that moment on.
I eventually understood why i like her designs… they are strong but yet feminine. She has an eye on details and draps. I did a little search on her work some time after i got home. I was very very impressed with her past and present collection.
her spring summer 2012 collection… the use of basic black and white for most of her collection was quite a daring move for a start from the usually colorful spring/summer. Her collection of musculine and feminine combination was enhanced by her cuts of her suits and pants. For those who prefers things that are very feminine, the use of laces and chiffon are the pieces to look out for.
Anime Fest 2011 was held at Suntec City from 11-13 nov 2011. Even though i am not an anime fan, i have to admit i really enjoy attending the annual anime festival. This was my second time attending the AFA. i felt that it was really interesting to see anime fans and supporters coming together to share their passion and collections. It was also a good chance to see all the cosplayers getting together to dress in their favourite characters or persona.
mentioned in the papers that this year there were an increase of 20k people who visited the AFA

Enjoyed myself despite the crowd present at the Fair. Simply impossible to shop or buy anything at all. It took me almost 3 hours to finish visiting all the booths. But the layout and assortment of exhibitors and products were really interesting for me. I will be back next year. Hopefully, will get a chance to interview the overseas cosplay celebrity..
The interview with makiyo is out ! It was the 1-1 interview i had done with her when she was in spore to promote the skincare brand for Sophie Monk.
A known celebrity , one whom i have only seen on TV was just a few feet away from me as i waited patiently for her to complete her interview session with one of the Japanese magazines. It all seemed so unbelievable.
makiyo with reporters from japanese magazine
My first impression? she looked like a doll…. pretty, good skin and great body. She smiled and answered all her questions patiently. However, she was not so comfortable when she was being interviewed in english.
her ready smile when facing the media
Then it was my turn… my heart was beating so fast! This was the first time i interviewed a celebrity. Frankly, i wasnt sure what to do. There were butterflies in my tummy when she sat down next to me. Up close, she was even prettier. I blurted out some greetings in japanese and she replied. I told her i was really nervous and to my surprise, she gave me a pat on my shoulder and told me to relax. I felt better after that, as i could sense that she was pretty at ease with herself.
finally... she was seated next to me
I told her that the interview will be done in japanese and mandarin so i can be more ‘connected’ with her. She agreed readily. From that moment onwards, everything proceeded smoothly.
makiyo sharing her daily 'must-do'... mask
sharing more other sophie monk's 'must-haves'
The interview went well. I was surprised that she was so casual, relaxed and it felt that I was just talking to a long lost friend. We completely lost track of time as i was only given 15 mins for the session.
Makiyo was different from her TV persona…. the projection of a party goer, a sex bomb, someone not easy to get close too. All those images disappeared. What i saw was a person… warm personality, easy going. She enjoyed food especially Singaporean food like our Hainanese chicken rice. I gave her my contact and told her that i will bring her to good, authentic ones when she next visit. She asked her manager to hand me a name card and told me to contact her when i next visit Taipei. Frankly, I was a bit shocked. Have not expected anything as i thought she was just being polite to the media. She even gave me an autographed copy of her new album with my name. I was really touched.
Just as she was getting up to prepare for her next interview, she suddenly turned and commented that i looked like a native Japanese. Also, I reminded her of someone familiar, that she will email to me if she recalls.
she autographed an album for me
happy me with the autographed album
a picture together after the interview
To makiyo… you have gotten yourself another supporter just by being yourself. No doubt the meeting was brief but i will always remember you for being so sincere and genuine. Ganbatte Ne!

The lucky winner of the Louis Vuitton bag was announced on Tueday. She is none other than our very active forum gal, Dawn.
She won the Speedy bag but because she has been our loyal forum member (even long before the Luxury Giveaway) and since her birthday is in November, MyFatPocket granted the top-up to a Louis Vuitton Monogram Empreinte Artsy Ombre!
Being a big fan of the brand, topping up more than 50% from her own pocket was like giving herself a birthday present, she said – “I love Louis Vuitton too much.”
Isn’t her new bag gorgeous?
Know what? Just like our Prada Winner, May Ying Koh, Dawn managed to “win” her favourite bag! Her new LV will be an addition to her collection.
So gals, you dun even have to ‘work hard’ to be given a bag of your dream. MFP is giving you a possibility of owning your dream bag.
The next bag is a YSL Muse Two.
The Muse was often spotted slung over the shoulder of Naomi Watts, Jennifer Lopez, Kate Moss, Jessica Alba, La Lohan and countless other celebrities.
And now, the brand designed an edgier bag called Muse Two. This new stunner has a new dimension and more sophisticated look that carries a friendlier price tag. Available in multiple sizes and made form a wide range of fabrics, each tote is colored differently.

Any November birthday Gals out there?

Have you heard of EOS ? Full brand name is called Evolution of Smooth. If you are one of those gals out there who likes organic stuff, this is for you!
My girlfriend Sharon bought me this during her last trip to Hong Kong. EOS was featured on taiwanese programme for being cheap and good as it is 95% organic, 100% natural. Paraben and petrolatum free, which is quite rare in cheap cosmetic products. It is said to be packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil. Keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.
packaging is shaped like an egg.
easy to grip sides
lip balm inside
There are 6 flavours available : summer fruits, lemon drop, strawberry sorbet, honey suckle honey dew, medicated tangerine and sweet mint. I got mine in Honey suckle honeydew. Smells really nice.
According to Taiwanese programme, the EOS lip balm is constantly sold out cos this lip balm is only retailing at US$3.29 (S$4). Product glides on easily without feeling sticky or greasy. Similar feel to Kiehl’s lip balm but at a fraction of the price.
