You Will Never Regret Going to a Chiropractor
My mum suffered from back pain since she gave birth to me, seeing her suffering and complaining about her back pain is a constant reminder that I have to take good care of my spine.
My right hip is tilted which resulted in a pull of ligament and muscles on my right leg when I walk for long hours previously. It got worse and worse until I even have problems climbing the stairs. Even my grandmother walked faster than me at that time. That problem was what that got me started out making me learn more about chiropractic. At first like many of you probably, I was also skeptical about visiting a chiropractor and wondering if it could really help.
With that problem, I also tend to stand with the weight more towards my left leg. My left leg is also longer than my right leg but thanks to chiropractic adjustment, I was so amazed that the right leg seems to ‘grow’ and it was balanced after one adjustment. The pain in my leg also started to go away after a few months of regular visits.
Our spinal column, made up of 24 independent vertebrae which allows your body to move, twist, and bend through every motion of your busy day. It also encases and helps protect the delicate nerve tissue that carries every communication between your brain and body. This is why having a healthy spine that is free of misalignments contribute to a healthy and active lifestyle.
But the thing is, these misalignments often go unnoticed while causing major miscommunication between your brain and body as nerves are being pressed on.
When the nervous system isn’t functioning properly, it will eventually lead to symptoms such as shoulder or elbow pain or stiff neck or back pain…etc. These symptoms are your body’s only way of letting you know something is wrong. Unfortunately, by the time pain and symptoms appear the problem may have been present for months, even years. The great news is that you can help prevent these types of symptoms with routine chiropractic care.
Although I do not have any pain or problems with my spine right now, I like getting my spine aligned and pressure in between the joints released every other month as a health routine.
I go to ChiroKare Spine and Nerve Clinic which is located at Tanglin Shopping Centre.
Don’t worry I didn’t break the law.
These are not my criminal photos. These are photos taken at ChiroKare Spine and Nerve Clinic for them to evaluate my posture. Although I think it would be funny if I had carried a card with some criminal number on it. Haha! 🙂
Let me explains how it works.
Your posture is in fact very important because it balances out the weight of your body if your posture is good. But bad posture puts bad pressure on the joints and it is also a way of telling that things might not be the way it should be. If you don’t fix that posture, aches and pains will find you overtime.
By comparing the top model skeleton and bottom photo of me. Lines are drawn to see if the focal points are aligned. Looks like my posture is pretty good. Just the neck is a little off and pushing forward a bit(you can see the line missing the X). That probably explains why my neck and shoulders feels so stiffed all the time. *Enlightenment* 🙂
I like what they did at ChiroKare Spine and Nerve Clinic to evaluate my posture. I have been to a couple of Chiropractic clinics before and this is the first time I did this evaluation.
I think I am quite lucky to not have any back pain too throughout my pregnancy unlike many of my friends. I strongly believe it was because of my visits to the chiropractic before, during and after the pregnancy which spared me from any backache.
Dr Kim Nguyen was very patient to discuss my past issues and explain to me the problems that I had. He told me the reason that my neck felt very stiff was because the cervical which shown as 1C to 7C suppose to be slightly curved for normal people but mine has loss the normal curves. This is not major serious at this point since it is at Phase one. But of course other than routine chiropractic adjustments, I also need to do some neck exercises everyday on my part to correct it.
Below photos of the poster on the wall made it easy for me to understand what was happening to my neck.
Some of you might be afraid of worried when you hear cracking or popping sounds during your adjustment. But not to worry…. it is totally normal. Nothing serious or damaging.
Adjustment (or manipulation) of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released.
I actually like hearing the cracking sound when Doctor is doing the adjustments. Haha! Feels so shiok especially for the neck as it reliefs the stress and stiffness right away.
My first session and adjustments took about 1 hour that day. I am quite surprised as this is considered a lot longer to the previous clinics that I have been to. I was informed that the subsequent visits would take lesser time than that though because there is no need for evaluation again.
Overall, I was very comfortable the whole time at ChiroKare Spine and Nerve Clinic. The staffs and doctor are all very friendly and nice. Most importantly, I saw smiles from their clients coming in and out of the clinic. With all these testimonials on the board, I am pretty sure they are customer service oriented and a place with high customer satisfactions.
