Ultherapy Skin Firming at Halley Medical Aesthetics Singapore
One of the fears of us ladies is none other than ageing. Sadly, everyday we sag more and more each year whether we like it or not, our skin looses it’s firmness. Loose skin has been a great concern for me in my 30s. Putting on anti-aging cream and sunblock is sometimes not enough to set the clock back to a firmer skin though it might slow the ageing process.
One of the most talked about non-invasive one time treatment procedures for skin firming is and Ultherapy. As Ultherapy is of the newer skin tightening technologies, I decide to probe more into it and check it out.
What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is the first treatment that uses a medical ultrasound technology to stimulate the collagen response that is FDA approved for both tightening and lifting that is non-invasive. It works deep below the surface – without harming the outer layer of skin-for dramatic and long-lasting benefits of facial firming, skin tightening and lifting.
How does it work?
A smooth applicator placed upon your skin projects an image onto a screen to deliver low levels of focused heat at just the right depth below the skin to stimulate the body’s natural renewal of existing collagen and creation of new collagen. The image enable the doctor to see below the skin and then treat it with great precision that helps to ensure both safety and satisfying results. This achieves a highly positive effect, leaving the surface of your skin undisturbed. Therefore, you need not take time off work to recover as there is no down time.
Short video below to show you how it works.
What areas of the face that can be treated?
Ultherapy can be use to treat the whole face and even smaller, more specific areas like the forehead, temples, mid to lower face, neck, eyes area including lifting of the brow line to reduce droopiness on the eyelids, smoothing of crows’ feet, and a more open, refreshed look to the eyes in general.
Sagging skin on the cheeks can be tightened and lifted. Folds from the nose to mouth and folds from the mouth to jaw(commonly known as the laugh line), and drooping corners of the mouth or a more defined jaw line can all be improved. There will also be some improvement in skin texture and evenness of colour with the new collagen generated.
What kind of results can I expect?
The regenerative process is initiated right away so some patients may be able to see immediate lifting of the skin. However, the full effect will build gradually over the course of two to three months and some patients will see optimal results only after a few months as tired collagen is renewed and replaced with new, stronger collagen. As this collagen-building process continues, further improvements can appear up to 6 months following a single treatment.
How long does it take and is there any downtime?
Ultherapy takes around 60 minutes for the full face. You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and you can put on makeup if needed.
How long do the results last?
The result of Ultherapy is long lasting but as your skin will continue its natural aging process, you are recommended to schedule additional treatments once a year to maintain the results.
Who should consider Ultherapy treatment?
A good candidate for Ultherapy is someone with mild to moderate loose skin e.g. the jawline is starting to loosen, jowls are appearing, or the brow is beginning to droop, and the skin is generally feeling less firm. Typically, those in their thirties begin to show mild laxity.
Is Ultherapy safe?
Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy, which has been used in medical imaging and therapeutics, such as sonograms, for over 50 years, and clinical studies have confirmed the safety of this latest application. Below video shows how the microfocused ultrasound energy is delivered.
