Queen’s Garden Restaurant at Changi Village Modern European Food Review
If you are looking for a perfect place to chill out or have high tea, lunch/dinner with fine European food and awesome beautiful relaxing environment. You have to visit Queen’s Garden Restaurant. They invited me there for a weekend lunch with my girl friends and I am so pleased they did or I would not have discovered such a amazing place to hang out. I posted some of the photos of the place on Facebook and the comments I got was asking if I the photos were out from a magazine. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Queen’s Garden is located at 33 Hendon Rd, Changi Village in a Lobby of Raintr33 Hotel which look so cool that it reminds me of Raffles Hotel the British colonel style building.
They serve western style dishes with an elegant touch of fusion flavours, every plate is pleasantly and wonderfully created. Their garden is just so beautiful and I love it so much. You can choose to dine inside or outside the restaurant both as nice. During the night, you can even listen to live band music while you dine or have some alcohol. I like the fact that this place is not overly crowded and that it is away from the city.
We had our starter and main course outside the garden area and moved inside the restaurant for dessert. We stayed for more than 3 hours just enjoying the food and the company. Not forgetting plus going around taking very nice photos of the place. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Now let’s talk about food!!!
They have a great selection of teas, coffee and drinks. Their weekend brunch menu also very enticing. When I saw their menu, I actually find that the prices are actually very reasonable for a place like that which I would consider very much towards the fine dinning category.
Can’t wait to show you the FOOD!!! Even typing the blog right now made me so hungry just recalling the yummy food that I had the other day. Yummmmm 🙂
We took a long time to choose what to eat because so many of the items on the menu are calling out to me. Haha!!
But the good thing about going to eat with girls is that we can all share our food. Heheeheee.
For Starter, we had the Truffle Fries and French Onion Soup. As soon as they put the food on the table, we are able to smell the truffle salt and oil. Truffle oil taste is also very strong with the fries.
The French Onion Soup has cheese gruyere and white parsisette which is like a pastry type bread wrapped in the cheese. The soup is slightly sweet and not very salty with aromatic small of onion with flakes of onions in the soup.
Crabmeat Linguine with Aglio Olio. It is not too oily with a generous serving of crabmeat and pasta. The little hint of chili and the savoury flavour of the crabmeat made the pasta tasty. The pasta’s texture is very bouncy and not too dry with pine nutty flavour.
Another dish Seafood Risotto is also one of their signature dish. It seems wetter than most risotto that I have tried. At first I thought it looked a bit like porridge but the interesting texture tasted light at first and it gets sweeter and sweeter the more I ate. The sweetness of the Hokkaido scallop and the tiger prawns infused with truffle oil and parmesan cheese combination compliments each other.
Another Signature dish we ordered is the Marinated Chilean Seabass which consist of the white cod fillet, herb potato, fine beans and cherry tomatoes. Cod is cooked just right which made it so juicy. Most fish I tasted are actually salty but this cod is very sweet and the cod tasted well together with the mango orange puree.
Just look at the Angus Ribeye steak photo above, my saliva is falling out from my mouth… Other than the Cod, the steak is another of my favourite dish that I tried that day. To be honest, it been a long while since I tasted good steak. This is definitely a must try when you go to Queen’s.
The beef is a stockyard grain-fed 200 days. The meat is so tender and the fats just melts in my mouth. The sauces they have are so delicious too. They served me both the Red Wine reduction and the mushroom truffle cream sauce. 2 of us preferred the red wine sauce and 2 of us preferred the mushroom truffle cream sauce. Both is as good, just have to be an individual preference thing I guess.
Now we moved on to the Desserts!
We had Green tea-nie which is White chocolate chip green tea brownie paired with vanilla ice cream
Lava Cake – Home made dark chocolate lava cake paired with vanilla ice cream
Apple Crumble – Freshly baked Granny smith apples, warm toasty homemade crumble paired with vanilla ice cream and almond flakes
Creme Brûlée – Classic vanilla bean cognac creme brûlée topped with seasonal berries
