Mothers Day Menu at Aone Claypot House
Last Sunday I had a blasted Mothers Day Set Menu at Aone Claypot House. I was very happy to be invited to try out their food and blog about their Mothers Day Promotion Set Meal. You might already heard of or already eaten at Aone Claypot House before because they have one of the best porridge in Singapore. Their award winning Traditional Claypot Scallop porridge is a must try.
I noticed that A-ONE Claypot House have a wide selection of food. I like the fact that this restaurant emphasis healthy cooking with less oil and not use preservatives.
I had the Mother’s Day Set Menu for 6 pax. They also have set menu for 4 pax, 8 pax and 10 pax that is reasonability priced below as stated.
In the photo above from left to right is my aunt, my mummy in black dress, my son Jack, my hubby and his sister who is happened to be visiting Singapore to celebrate Mother’s Day with us last Sunday. We went to the branch at Causeway Point.
Below a ‘wefie’ of me and mum and Jack. Family is the most important thing to me. Not money, status, fame, career or anything else that can every takes it’s place. Sometimes people get so engrossed in chasing money, status and fame that they work so much or want to have some much money for themselves that they forget to spend quality time or give back to their love ones. Especially, in Singapore it is so easy to get caught up in the rat race.
After becoming a mother myself, I realised that the love of a mother is unconditional and I am so thankful to have my mum even though I do not have a father figure since a young age. Though sometimes me and my aunt might not see eye to eye(got generation gap 🙂 ) and yes usually mum nags a lot (hope in the future I don’t nag my son too much), I love my mum to bits and Mothers’ Day is a great opportunity for me to make her feel extra special after all that she has done for the family.
Call me traditional or what not, I believe that being filial is one of the most important trade if one wants to be respected by those around them.
First thing I want to highlight is that the Fruit Tea that they serve at Aone Claypot is amazing. Everyone cannot stop drinking it and I had to keep asking the waitress to top it up. So if you are going to Aone Claypot, don’t order coke, sprite and all the common soft drinks. GET THE FRUIT TEA shown above. Confirm you will like it.
First dish that came up was Crab Meat and Fish Maw Shark Fin Soup. It was such a big generous serving.
Deep Fried Sea Bass is crispy but not too fried. So it was crispy on the outside as you bite into it and soft on the inside.
Rock Sugar Honey Pork was gone on the table in no time. For me, this dish sweetness of the meat is just right. Actually, I felt that most of the dishes I tried have very fresh ingredients. The cook do not put too much salt or sugar and flavourings which I really like as I can enjoy the natural flavour of the food.
Spinach with Mushroom and Sea Cucumber. One of my mum’s favourite dish as she told me that sea cucumber contains a lot of collagen and is great for beauty.
Prawns in Creamy Salted Egg Sauce is my hubby’s favourite. Seems weird ang moh like the taste of the salted egg right? The pastry around the prawns just taste heavenly.
Scallop Fried with Lotus Root and Asparagus
Longevity Noodle with Sesame Oil Chicken. The noodle’s texture is smooth in the mouth. The noodles they used are rounded and more to the chewy side. I don’t like noodles that are too soft and mushy.
Last on the list is the Red Dates and Longan Dessert. Very refreshing and again not too sweet.
Considered the sumptuous set meal offered, $238 works out only to be about $40 per person which is not expensive at all.
Do call them for booking if you are interested in the Mother’s Day Menu. This set meal are old available at Causeway Point, Sports Hub, Tampines, Seletar Mall and Nex Shopping Centre Branch. Telephone: 9125 9611.
