Had so much fun at SportsSG SEA Games 2015 Carnival
I brought my mum and my son Jack to the 28th SEA Games Carnival over the weekend and was amazed that the entire place boasts a variety of sports and games for family and children.
WATCH a 60 second video of the must go family carnival event of the YEAR!!
The SEA Games Carnival is free and it will be held at the SportsHub (outside Kallang Stadium) from 10am to 9pm from 31 May till Jun 16 when the SEA Games ends.
You don’t have to worry about the heat as most of the activities are held under shelter. It is still pretty hot, so do bring lots of water for you and your children.
Map Guide of the whole carnival overview.
The above is the ZORB BOWLING game. Your children will go inside an air bubble bowling ball, making them the human bowling ball when they roll and spin their way by running and rolling in the bubble to a strike while keeping in lane. It looks so funny seeing 2 children at a time falling over and rolling inside the bubble ball. Hahaha!!
Below is the HOCKEY GOLF where you are supposed to putt the ball into the hole with a hockey stick instead of a golf stick. This is a pretty interesting game not just for kids but adults too.
Other than many games there were quite a few stores selling SEA games tee shirts and souvenirs too.
There is lots of organised activities for the kids to interact with each other. Here is a photo of the exercise dance they made everyone do together. There is also magic shows, face painting, folding balloons and all the things that could make your children very happy. Jack was so happy and I was happy to see him smile so much all day. *Can you spot Jack somewhere dancing along in the crowd?* 🙂
Jack was just going mad running and dancing around.
POOL SOCCER is a game that combines pool and soccer. I think you know what I mean by looking at the photo above. So just kick the football in the pool table holes.
MEGA BOXING below. The gigantic boxing gloves they will give you is so super huge. I just couldn’t stop laughing seeing the kids trying to hit each other. Don’t worry, it’s impossible to get hurt with this type of boxing.
Here is me with the cute lion mascot taking a photo together.
Free Milo to quench your thirst.
How about some LASER TAG and NINEBOT RACE? These are the sort of things that will get my husband so excited. It’s a pity that my hubby couldn’t join us as he is overseas working but sending him these pictures of Jack having fun and videos made him smile too.
Walk-On-Water – You have to make it to the other side by defying the law of physics and try to stay afloat and in balance.
Scale you way up this air-filled ROCKY MOUNTAIN and have the world beneath your feet.
FLYING DUNK – Try this Bungy and aim for the net while in the air. Shoot the ball into the 5 meter basketball hoop and score and score as many points as possible within the time limit.
BALL HUNTING CASTLE – I think Jack is hunting at the wrong place. The balls are not on the board, it’s in the castle below 🙂 🙂 🙂 whahaha. Jack is too young to be allowed in for this though. Most of the games stations are for children 3 years and above.
Brought Jack to an indoor playground with the colourful balls previously and he absolutely went mental. Not sure what’s with kids and colourful plastic balls. The carnival just makes me feel like becoming a kid again.
NILA CASTLE – There are small slides for the smaller kids. This is a obstacles filled castle where your kids can bounce and slide through various challenges to find the hidden Nila which is the stamps you can collect from each game station. Collect 5 and you can redeem a SEA games souvenir to bring home with you!
GIANT SLIDE – 10 metres tall giant slide. It looks really really really awesome. Even I was tempted to try, but I didn’t want to look ridiculous being the only adult on the slide. Hahahaa! *control myself* I think if Jack is a bit older, he will surely go crazy if he sees this slide since slides are always his favourite part of the playground.
BOUNCING CASTLE – This one looks less dangerous for my 17 months old. Jack can just enjoy other older children bouncing and jumping around him since he didn’t know how to jump yet.
All the crews and helpers are so friendly and careful, looking after the children at each of the different game stations.
If you are still not tired after all the crazy activities, do go for the 80 meter dash!!!
Other than the games stations, if you and your kids are exhausted with the soooo many activities and games, then you can sit down to rest while having a painting or drawing class as well. The whole carnival is so well planned out and thought through.
I am truly impressed with the scale and effort of those who put this awesome event together.
Other than all these activities stations, are also the roving acts, lights and laser shows and song performances on stage too.
I think our Singapore government is awesome and I absolutely enjoyed myself with my son today at the carnival.
If you are a parent and is reading this article, you MUST bring your kids there. Totally recommended!!!
Opening hours are from 10am to 9pm from 31 May till Jun 16 when the 28th SEA Games ends.
