Acme Sculpture Aesthetic Clinic Part 1 – Pre Nose Surgery Rhinoplasty in Taiwan
There is one thing which I always wanted to do but hesitated for 10 years, always has been pushing the thought away to go for a nose job. 2016 is the year I finally decide to go for it! My mentally is that life is short, if you really want something why not go for it? As long as the decision is safe and it does not hurt yourself or anyone else. I am not encouraging plastic surgery though but if doing it makes you happy then I feel it is alright. Just make sure you do proper research and go for the best doctor is important.
Why Rhinoplasty?
The one thing that I most dislike about myself is my nose because it is so wide, flat and rounded at the tip. Below is a photo of me 1 year ago before I did PDO thread lift for my nose, there are already some fillers inside my nose then. I got no nasal bone at the tip of my nose(mama left out a nasal bone when she gave birth to me, *sob sob*!) so at the tip it is just really soft and rounded. 🙁 Doctors told me fillers will not be able to bring it up because my nose is too soft and even after trying PDO theadlift, it was slightly better but mostly at the upper part in between my eyes. For the nose tip, the effect wasn’t what I wanted.
Because there is no bone around that area near the tip of the nose, fillers and thread lift could not work at all on my nose. The only way to enhance it is to go for rhinoplasty nose surgery. I don’t need my nose to be super sharp with narrow tip like caucasians but I wanted a natural nose that is well balanced on my face. Of course I have my doubts and fears at first because I had not gone for any invasive procedures before and I wondered if this is a bit over to go for enhancing my looks. Besides there is always chance of failure and risks.
I have been doing a lot of research on nose surgery and consulted a lot of plastic surgeons before previously about my nose over the years and they all told me it would not be an easy job due to the structure of my nose and that I also had semi-permanent fillers inside for a long time and PDO threads in my nose which might be difficult to extract during the surgery. Reconstructing my nose sounds tough and it made me really scared because so far no doctor could give me enough confidence to believe they can help me achieve the results I wanted.
How I got to know Acme Sculpture Aesthetic Clinic?
I did a lot of research and reading online about nose surgery on other bloggers’ blog and forums, most of them did their surgery in Korea. I have lived in Korea for 18 months previously and I know quite well actually which clinics in Seoul are famous and which clinic is good for which procedures but because my nose is a more special(no nasal tip bone) and complicated case with semi-permanent fillers and threads, I wanted to be able to explain very clearly to the doctor about my nose condition and what exactly I wanted. I was worried about the language barrier if I go to Korea. I could not possibility leave something that important to a translator as it is the face we are talking about isn’t it?
I decided I should consider going to Taiwan so I ask my Taiwanese friends and Doctor Jenny Tsai from Young Shine Aesthetic Clinic which place is best for me to do my nose job at. Though them, I got to know Doctor Ching from Acme Sculpture Aesthetic Clinic. As you know that Taiwanese uses LINE, I chatted with Doctor Ching first about my concerns of my nose. He then ask me to send him photos of my nose(front, side and bottom view), he even took time to draw on the photos to show me how he could improve on my nose. He explained patiently to me step by step about how he could do it and I suddenly feel hope is not lost for my nose! Really I am very glad that they are even willing to sponsor for my procedure. But rest assured although this is a sponsored surgery I will be giving my honest review.

Most concerned issues of the surgery?
It would be post surgery bruising, swelling and recovery period would be most peoples’ main concern. Basically, the recovery and swelling of the surgery will depend on 3 factors. Other than finding a good doctor, you can start to prepare your physics a few weeks before the surgery and there are some things you could do to take good care pre and post surgery.
- Doctor’s experience and skill
- Patient’s own body condition
- Pre and post surgery care
What to prepare?
1> Drink fresh pineapple juice
Drink 3 -4 times a day (means 4 cups). Pineapple juice contains bromelain that helps the swelling to go down fast.
2> Ask for Sinecch
This medicine will help your bruise and swelling go down by half the time. Its homeopathic.
3> Manuka Honey and Royal Jelly
One teaspoon of Manuka Honey before bedtime fights all infection and promotes healing. Use for 2 weeks. I also have been taking Royal Jelly one week before, one small spatula everyday to help build up my immune system for the surgery.
4> Wet Wipes
You can’t wash your face because of the bandages and stitches after the surgery. So wet wipes can help to keep your face nice and clean before your face wash after the stitches are removed!
5> Cotton Buds and Face cotton
To clean your wound and apply medication if necessary.
6> Lip Balm
For the first day, your nose will be stuffed with cotton and you can only breathe through your mouth so lips will be extremely dry. Your nose will also be congested for a few days after the surgery so it’s nice to keep your lip moist.
7> Dry Shampoo
Just in case you might want to stay indoors and not want to wash your own hair for the first few days.
8> Scar Cream
You can start applying the scar cream after the stitches are removed at the tip of the nose and behind the ears. Kelo-Cote and Dermatix Ultra are the 2 best scar cream in the market. I am going to try out both of them 🙂
That’s all for now for the pre nose surgery! Part 2 will be up next about my consultation, Part 3 about my surgery and recovery and part 4 (3 months later) when my nose settles into the final shape and updates.

Hi Jessie,
Just wondering with your semi permanent fillers- they were hyaluronic acid based? As I too am interested to get a rhinoplasty done and I have some fillers in my nose but they are hyarulonic based ( supposed to be temporary). Also you mentioned you had PDO threadlift done and they had to take this out, I thought there were dissolvable so why would it affect the rhinoplasty? I would really appreciate your feedback on this thanks..
They did not have to take out the PDO Threads as they are dissolved already.
Hi Jessie
How did sculptra work for you? Pardon me, I don’t see much effect on you as I see in other blogger. I also heard of danger of lumps etc.
Is it wise to do it for temples and cheeks or better to opt for filler?
Hi grace, sculptra is unlike fillers the effect is not immediate as the difference to sculptra is that it will promote and create natural collagen creation on the injected area which will take 2-3 months for the collagen to be there. I prefer sculptra as I feel this is more natural for me and unlikely to get lumps at all since it is to promote own collagen growth. For fillers it is more of danger to get lumps as it is a chemical that fills the area which will gets dissolves slowly over time about 1 year so that you need to get it filled again. Hope this info helps
I want a nose job pretty bad. It’s so expensive here and wouldn’t mind going abroad but my concern is it the medical standards in Taiwan are similar to those in the US.
Yes taiwan has one of the highest medical standards in the world
