Visited The Local People Art Flea to support local designers and entrepreneurs last Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the huge turnout for the event! Tanjong Pagar Railway track was massively packed from the entrance and I could barely moved from stalls to stalls inside.
As someone who has always been interested in entrepreneurial activities, I am really happy to see Singaporeans supporting local businesses. I considered myself extremely blessed to have been able to be on the prestigious NUS Overseas College (NOC) program where I had the opportunity to study in Fudan University and interned in a start up company of my choice in Shanghai for a year. The overseas and internship experience in a start-up was enriching and life-changing. It changed my perspective of life, and I am so glad I get to live my entrepreneurial dreams now that I am managing Le Queenz too! #supportlocal
Anyway, the flea had many handmade items and if you would like unique accessories, quirky items and indie products, you will definitely love the flea! More importantly, you will also get to support local entrepreneurs with dreams together with the courage to pursue their dreams 🙂 To find out more about the local people’s upcoming flea, follow them on @thelocalpeoplesg on IG or follow their Facebook account here. (P.S. I do not get paid for saying these and this is not a sponsored advertisement)
Outfit of the day is my first denim overalls from PurPur that is so casual and chic. For the month of March, they are also having a 10% storewide discount + additional 10% off if you purchase a minimum of 2 pieces; so shop away!
ilight marina bay is Asia’s leading sustainable light art festival; happening from 4 -27 March (admission is completely free), you can expect to see kaleidoscopic display of light installations and be serenaded by live music performances along marina bay.
This is the forth edition of the light art festival, but my very first visit. I started my walk from Marina Bay Sands, and am pleasantly surprised by the number of people I see at the pop up stalls of Pasar Bella and how happening the area is! You can expect to see flea market vendors at the Marina Waterfront Bazaar, musical acts at the festival stage and Uncle Ringo’s carnival games! There’s basically something to see and play for people of all ages to enjoy.
For a person who loves taking photo, there are a couple of places for you to grab images. and this is my favorite photo of the night!
I had a lot of fun looking at the different installations while keeping my tummy happy by getting food options from pop-up store of Haagen Dazs and food truck like Old Chang Kee. P.S. this is usually how I look because I love stuffing my face silly with food!
Lastly, I really like that the participating artists make use of recyclable materials and adopted energy-efficient lighting technology for some of their installations. As Leonardo DiCarprio said, “Let’s not take this planet for granted”, so let us collectively actively promote and remind each other to practice an environmentally responsible behavior for a sustainable future.
Dressed in a full outfit from Pur Pur, featuring a blue floral frills tube top and a D-ring white skorts. I like that the outfit is feminine and chic at the same time, it is perfect for everyday wear and even to casual dinner dates. The versatile top can be worn two ways, either as a tube top or an off-shoulder top depending on how you like it. Either way, it’s perfect for our tropical climate and you can show off your collarbone at the same time (think fun and sexy!). The skorts is both girly and convenient for you when running errands; there’s going to be zero worry about up-skirt situations.
