Johor Bahru cafes are expanding fast and you get to see new cafes opening almost every other month. Apart from the cafes near the JB Checkpoint , Mount Austin and Taman Molek, it’s time to venture to Taman Ungku Tun Aminah. This area is located quite a distance from JB checkpoint but nearer to Sutera area. If you are taking Grab/ Uber from JB checkpoint, the fee is approximately RM25~RM35 (one way) depending on traffic, timing and demand on that point of time.

Here are the cafes that are located around Taman Ungku Tun Aminah:

We ordered the pasta and chicken waffles to try. It was surprisingly not bad in terms of the taste and value. We also ordered popcorn coffee latte which sounds interesting.

Car Born Café was previously located at Sutera area and moved to this new vicinity area. The café is well-known with its cute and gimmicky instagram-worthy desserts and drinks online. However, I personally feel that the price is a bit steep as compared with other cafes and the taste is not up to my liking. This applies to several of my friends who visited the place before. If you are looking for aesthetic desserts for social posting, you can give this place a try.

You can just chill and relax at the café ordering their coffee latte and dishes to spend with friends and family. The interesting part is that the café also uses musical instruments to decorate the café too.
