It’s August! 8 months of 2016 gone in a blink of the eye.
August on EverestSays.com means it is red and white outfits for Singapore’s National Day. 51 years of nation building. Every year, I will try to share some red and outfit ideas, see last year’s post here, so that I could get you inspired to dress up for any fun event that has been lined up for Singaporeans in the month of August. This year is no exception where I celebrate national day by dedicating this post to all fashion loving Singaporeans.
In my red and white ensemble, I tried to incorporate this generously flared sleeve top from a Singapore apparel brand, Eight Slate. Known for their interesting silhouettes in basic colour palettes, I have been a big fan of this brand since I was introduced close to two years ago.
Needless to say this is one of the many items I own from Eight Slate. I should probably do a look book of sorts of the items I own. Perhaps perhaps…
It is impossible to miss this beautiful bucket of blooms from Gift Flowers Singapore, that has been specially customized for the theme of National Day. The classy flower boxes are available in a variety of colours and sizes suited for all budgets and occasions. Not only are their flower boxes attractive, they offer free same day delivery for orders on most places around the island.

With all that flare and flutter going on at the upper half, I wore a fitted red skirt with lace overlay from H&M to keep everything nice and neat. I bought this skirt at the end of last year during their year end sale and at $20, it has served me very well from Chinese New Year to National Day.
So this good buy deserves a mini dance. 😉
Booties are a must in our hot tropical environment where they are the closest we can get to wearing boots. They provide another dimension to the outfit, wrapping it up ever so nicely and elegantly with that little tinge of toughness amidst its sexy mesh design.

In this year’s showcase of red and whites, Aldora and Melissa have joined in the patriotic fun of dressing up in our national colours.
When picking out our outfit choices, comfort and practicality were key ideas in the warm and humid climate of Singapore.
Although my initial intent of styling a Parisian chic look in red and white with an outer jacket may look and sound great, it is hardly practical in a normal daily outfit.
Aldora styled her look so perfect for a picnic in the open fields while waiting to catch the fireworks in the evening. A pair of stylish shorts that you can sit comfortably on the floor and finished with a pair of brown platform to elongate those legs.
Melissa styled hers like a girly day out, with bright blooms on her asymmetrical skirt and comfy with a soft and flowy top.
If adding red into your wardrobe seems too bold and loud, take the cue from us that red accessories does the trick too!
All three of us amped up our outfits with a pop of red from our bags which was purely coincidental. Talk about great minds thinking alike! 😉
Have a great National Day holiday!
