In April, I went to Cameron Highlands with Simon, Sebas and Ivy! It was a short 3 days 2 nights trip and it was our very first trip together.

Simon and I used to like Cameron Highlands, we were there a few years ago when we couldnt afford to go anywhere except for Malaysia. We were amazed with the weather, the fresh organic vegetables and the fresh crisp air. But this was what it feels like a few years back. Cameron highlands now is alot different. Probably much more commercialized now which explains the constructions and pollution. Well the food is still good though. Anything strawberry or vegetables related is heaven and the steamboat is the best.

Nevertheless it was still a fun trip even though the bus journey took a lot longer than the usual. – good friday.

So this was quite a last minute trip.. the 4 of us were supposed to go taiwan in October but your girl here tendered, found a New job and hence screw up the plan. We were lucky enough to get tickets. Very lucky indeed because it was the exact last 4tickets for the round trip.

You can use this link to book your bus tickets to Cameron highlands:
We had to go with 2 different bus operators though, Un Express & Travel and Konsortium. Altogether the round trip tickets are about close to $100 per pax.

So as I mentioned, it was a really long trip. Usually the trip would take about 10hours.. but because it was the public holidays, it took us about 15hours to reach our hotel. The jam was super crazy. The bus just didn’t move at all, it didn’t move for 3 freaking hours!! Lesson learnt, never take bus to Malaysia again during public holidays.

And here this is where the summary starts.

Day 1. Checked into our hotel at Cameron Highlands Resort Hotel at Tanah Rata.

There are so many pine trees around this hotel. Do you know your girl here loves pine trees? We even engraved pine tree onto our wedding band. 😀 4

Lunch was at Restoran Ferm Nyonya. Steamboat is a must have here in Cameron Highlands. The soup base is damn sick. So so so so good.

78A-D, Jalan Camellia 4, Cameron Highland, 39000 Tanah Rata, Pahang, Malaysia

After our very good lunch, we walked to Tanah Rata bus terminal. Our original plan was to take a bus to the Brinchang night market but we ended up with a half day tour for the next day. Oh we cab to the night market in the end. 18Book our tour with Unititi Express Service.

Here we are at Brinchang Night Market! Can see mountains from here!

We ate quite abit over here. Got crispy pancake.

Milk tea. Lol their expressions. 38

Its very beautiful at night.

The very sweet milk tea which I have problems taking pic with. 43

After night market, we cab back to Tanah Rata and head to starbucks. Sebas and Ivy bought Marrybrown for dinner and Simon and I had an early night.

2nd day, Hotel breakfast.

More photos will be up! 51.5

Couple travel couple date!

There’s an egg counter too! With all kinds of eggs!

After our breakfast and preparation, we went down to our hotel lobby to find our tour bus and driver.

Damn! Jam here again. After 2hours, we finally reach Boh tea plantation. 54

Then next we went to Mossy forest! 61

Also learnt a few things about herbs and plants from the tour guide.

Then to Boh tea cafe. You need to try the scones and tarts here! It was so so crowded on that day though. 73

We queued for an hour and still cant get seats. So we just ordered ice tea and chicken pie to takeaway.

Nasi lemak cheesecake ok. Dont play play.. 78

our chicken pie!

In the evening we went to Parit fall! And did abit of exploring. Really crazy. 82

Then we came to this small shop to get snacks cos we are starving.

Got myself strawberry milkshake! So so nice! 90

Also walk past the Smokehouse Hotel. I wanted to stay here actually but it’s very out of the way. 🙁

For dinner, Sebas suggested seafood so we came to Anjer’s corner! 94

We honestly don’t know if it’s clean anot but we ate these anyway. All 4 of us were like competing to see who got the smallest shrimp. LOL.

After our ‘afternoon tea’, we cab back to Barracks Cafe (very near our hotel) and had the most delicious chicken chop in our life.

Very nice setting too! 104

Black pepper chicken chop! The baby carrots are insanely good. You got to trust me! Never eaten anything like that before! 109

Day 3: Back to Singapore.. 110

Stopover at Ipoh and had Ipoh Horfun. It’s seriously damn good eh. I need to go Ipoh real soon. 116The white coffee is really awesome too, will share details on the blog soon. 😀

You can check out my part 1 and 2 🙂

Day 3 was upsetting cos we are leaving! our next stop is KL whereby we’re taking train instead of bus back to SG. was excited until…

last day of hotel breakfast, i make sure i eat to my full. as usual.

after breakfast we walked about our hotel as we’ve never had a good entire look/exploration at it yet.

garden area

the suite! i hate them cos they’gt heater and we dun have! =(

after this short tour and photo taking, we went back to our room. the strawbies that i bought the prev day which i deemed it smell nice and must taste yummy too and i got to slap myself at this, cos it’s not sweet at all. hai.. just not the season..

anw, it became frozen strawbies, definitely not my intention

and i dun reckon there’s freezer in minibar right? or am i wrong?

mr tey is god damn nua, he just lie there all d while. ohyah, yakult freeze.

after an hr or 2 of rotting, we bathed, packed and go. I believed we wanted to go to Restaurant Kumar to have our lunch as we’ve read good reviews from the net. But Sri Brinchang restaurant is damn good at pulling customers that we’ve got no choice but to settle there once again. hahhaa. but the food is awesome!

teh halia again!

egg prata

i asked for egg prata when im supp to ask for kosong, probably its the last day and im more than depress as usual. hahaha! i eat more when im depress. so the last day was pretty unhealthy!

maggi goreng

i missed eating maggi goreng so much, esp whenever i thought of the one i ate with selynn baby, it was so good. im going back for more. anw i dun like this maggi goreng, it taste like mee goreng. im disappointed. :/

there’s also herb naan and masala thosai. SUPER FULL + BLOATED. sinful max

after lunch we waited for our bus at this tourist area which i forgot where isit. it’s 28rm per pax for the bus trip to KL! By UNITITI! i think its under TiTiwangsa too! I swear we were both giddy on the bus, turns and more turns. but we manage to fall asleep, at least for awhile. Throughout this journey, i spotted huts and landslides which were scary, the landslides..

we reached KL sentral about 3-4hrs later if im not wrong.

settle at this chicken place which i wont go back again

i dont remember what’s the restaurant name! argh.
before that we were searching for a good and cheap restaurant for dinner, not to forget healthy eating. And to Simon’s amazement, i actually suggest that i want to eat Mac’s. I think im pretty depress still HAHA.

So he had his milk tea which tasted instant BUT d shortbread was good.

our meal. pathetic small drumstick i have. the boy even got more wedges than me! how unfair! *sulk*

we laughed at our dinner and both agreed that we wouldnt come back again. L.O.L
after dinner we walked around KL SENTRAL and settled at starbucks for awhile, redeem a venti drink from the lucky draw we won at TaNahRata.

cocoa cappucino we had and we still prefer cappu

about 11pm we took our train. I doubt there’s photos of it. It’s a small room with upper and lower deck mini beds? LOL the first thing we get into room/place or what sorts is to check for bedbugs! They are extremely grossed and we cant stand that especially he had a v bad experience to start with. And he sprayed insecticide HAHAHA especially for bedbugs!

LOL I guess it’s going to be a norm for us to bring begbug-ticide wherever we travel to in future. cos bedbugs really freak us out, and i believed it freaked everyone out as well!

The train journey was rather crap and I wont take train anymore. There’s a last minute notice that we have to alight at Kluang (which is near JB, but first is this the spelling?), and changed to a bus and take a train again, and the train that we are going to take its not going to be the one we book but a normal, old one. haiii… and i saw 3baby cockroaches during this journey and it’s disgusting.

The whole journey took about 10hrs?

But overall it’s a awesome experience because it’s my first time travelling to highlands, first time drinking teh halia, and first time taking the bloody train. 😀

going back in aug/sep period for real hiking and hopefully i would enjoy the bugs/insects and whatever there is to come. :O

This is my personal space, I blog because i love and not becos of other reasons. I will not let blogging stress me out anymore. 🙂

and today here you go, CAMERON HIGHLANDS DAY 1! We stayed at Century Pines Resort. Simon chanced upon many bad reviews about this hotel after we book, so we had really low expectations of the place, but surprisingly, it’s pretty decent, and I think maybe other visitors are too ATAS?

we r super cold

near our hotel

settle our breakfast in a random cafe

tho the food’s not awesome but the jam and butter on toast is good almost anywhere!!

we spent about rm25 here

we got ourselves coffee but i forgot what isit. cappucino?

Our purpose here is to walk walk walk and walk, hike hike hike and hike. trek trek trek and trek. so our first hunt was Parit Falls. Saw some minor landslides which was amazing as i’ve never been up close to them before. But of cos I didnt mean that landslides are amazing lah! lol okok ignore me.

before that we got to crawl under fallen log!

We actually WALK from TanahRata to Brinchang. Far. But we love walking.

im upset cos the strawberries are in yellow color

We didn’t walk to Gunung Brinchang on Day 1 cos it’s quite late already. Look at the distance 13km

cactus. i remember it was very cheap! hahaha

Had lunch at this random shophouse

random craving for chee cheong fun!

well, food not v good luhhh

back to hotel!

no contact lens *proud of myself*

I wanted steamboat so badly, and we walked around TANAHRATA to hunt for it. and finally we found this! btw Brinchang got more food and definitely more steamboat restns!

We had yuanyang steamboat. Chicken soup and tomyam soup as the base. The tomyam is the dope! and I think we only spend about 12-14rm for 1pax? Super full from the food!

alright shall sign off.
Day 2 we went up for sunrise. And make a guess, do you think we caught the sunrise? 🙂
