Catch Feelings & Fireworks with Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway

Book a night to experience the comforts of Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway’s hospitality and watch the NDP2018 fireworks from the rooftop deck on either the 4th or 9th of August!

August hosts one of Singapore’s biggest, if not THE biggest, festive event of the year – our nation’s birthday aka National Day! The weekends leading up to it are always packed with National Day Parade (NDP) Preview Shows, complete with fireworks and the whole shazam of patriotic goodness.

And yes, if you couldn’t already tell, I’m one helluva patriot and can definitely sing you one too many National Day songs. Hehe.

Count me lucky as I spent last weekend at Hotel Jen Orchard Gateway, all kicked back and relaxed, worries parked aside, fully immersing myself in what the hotel had to offer. With a killer view of the city, and more specifically, of the Bay area, my friends and I got to look on as fiery sparks whipped up the sky in a burst of colours and combinations during that particular NDP Preview Show.

But I’ll let these following photos do the talking and chime in with details.

Whether you choose their Superior Cityview Room or Club Room, you’ll be greeted with a warm, welcoming aesthetic. Simple & straightforward, with a shower that doesn’t take advanced calculus to figure out how to turn on. Cos honey, I’ve chanced upon showers that have so many buttons, you’d be better off washing your hair in the sink. It’s all in the littlest of details, y’know?

I’m a sucker for infinity swimming pools and Hotel Jen OG’s is, in my opinion, one of the best on Orchard Road. I prefer rectangular-shaped pools over the odd ones you see in more resort-type establishments. Probably because I used to be a competitive swimmer and a very practical person at heart. But yes, this pool gets a gold star because the saltwater-chlorine mixture is supposedly better for my sensitive skin!

As night fell, my friends and I had drinks in hand, snacking on a generous serving of fried nibbles & freshly cut fruits as the fireworks lit up the sky. Heh, thanks Jem for the photos!

Of course, your girl made a bee-line to the egg station. I mean, where else would I go? Double sunny side-ups are LIFE. Also, I may have binged on the Putu Mayam as, to my knowledge, it hasn’t been part of any other hotel’s buffet spread so please keep the local delights coming!

After cramming in a few episodes of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?”, it was time to hit the hay. When I woke, it was to this view! With malls like Orchard Gateway and 313 literally at my doorstep, Hotel Jen OG’s location is literally the definition of accessible and convenient. I’d definitely recommend y’all book a night’s stay here and try it out for yourselves. Psst! Their Panorama Club Room looks sickkkkkk.
