[Review] Heliocare Purewhite Radiance Max 240

My job requires me to move about regularly and that means that I am often at the mercy of the elements. Knowing Singapore’s weather, you can expect it to be sunny and scorching hot most of the time. Despite having bought tons of organic sunscreen, I still find myself forgetting to apply it most of the time. It is simply easier to just pop a pill and get on with business.

Heliocare PureWhite Radiance Max 240 is heaven sent because it not only helps to protect the skin from harmful UV rays, it also slows down skin ageing from free radical. This magical little purple pill also repairs and prevents DNA damage caused by the sun, prevents loss of moisture on the skin, promotes skin radiance and improves the appearance of hyper pigmentation while evening the overall skin tone on both face and body.

[Review] Beauty Haul From My Daily Skincare

Remember the last time I had shared about my favourite serum from Loveisderma?  Well, guess what? This time round I have managed to find a local online store that stocks not only products from Loveisderma but also a number of other cult beauty brands from Taiwan and Korea. So don’t say ‘Bo Jio‘ but do check out My Daily Skincare. The best thing is that they also offer international shipping so even you are located elsewhere other than Singapore, you can still get your beauty fix.

Presenting my beauty haul.

It might be a little late posting this since Oct is over. However, I just learnt that you can back purchase Oct’s Glamabox at the Glamabox Website. So if you like what you see here then you can head down to their website to purchase. It’s just S$19/month if you decide to go for the monthly membership, much cheaper than other beauty box subscription sites and the product samples given in the Glamabox are generous and unique.

I especially like the sample packaging for the EGO SunSense Ultra SPF 50+ & QV Face Purifying Mask. Such handy containers make it suitable to pack for an overseas trip. I think it’s great that we have such beauty subscription boxes like Glamabox which allows you to try out samples before deciding if you wish to commit to buying the full sized item.  On top of that, the sample sized packaging for the beauty products make it really convenient to pack for a vacation.

20131022_151417_resizedThere’s also a promotion going on at Glamabox called The Mask Box. You can select 10 different masks for just S$21 which is really a steal since some brands alone, for a single sheet, can cost up to that amount.

Curious about the October’s Glamabox? Check it out at the Glamabox Website.

[Review] Etude House Almighty Foundation Precious Minerals Any Cushion SPF 50++/PA +++

First, it was the BB creams, then we had the CC creams and now, one of the latest Korean cosmetic fads are BB creams in a cushion compact. Innovative, much? So what results would I achieve from this BB cushion compact? Would it be much better than the usual BB cream in a tube? Read on to find out…

The shade I tried on is Honey Beige W24. It may look sticky on the cushion sponge but upon application, it turns matt pretty quick. I was also delighted by the coverage it provided. As you can see from the below comparison photo, it managed to conceal most of my blemishes rather well. It did a good job with my dark eye circles for a BB cream.

2013-10-05 12.44.03_resizedThe texture is light and application with the sponge provided is a breeze. No need to worry about foundation stains on your clothing because you do not need to use your bare fingers.

20131005_091914_resizedIt’s compact sized casing fits well in my palm, I could just bring it out for a quick touch-ups in a small purse. Another plus point, I guess 😉

The Almighty Foundation boasts of 6 multi-functions: Suncreen, Sebum Control Powder, Moisture Essence, Whitening Essence, Cooling and Foundation.

Loving the light, natural sheen it gives off like that of a CC cream. If you have just ran out of BB or CC cream, maybe you would like to stop by an Etude House store to check this out.

Heliocare Pure White Radiance

heliocare1 Heliocare welcomes a new oral whitening supplement capsule, Heliocare PureWhite Radiance. Discovered through the combination of sophisticated proprietary technology FernblockTM + White Tech Complex, Heliocare PureWhite Radiance brightens up your complexion and fights early anti-aging signs, achieving youthful, radiant skin.

Co-developed by researchers at Harvard University, Heliocare features the patented Fernblock technology. Fernblock is derived from a Central American fern that developed unique photoprotective abilities in its evolution form an aquatic environment to a land-based plant. It’s the main active ingredient in HELIOCARE products and covered by US Patent 56141679 as an anti-oxidant and photo protector for oral and topical use.

This potent ingredient is not available in dietary sources. Through the combination of the Fernblock + White Tech complex, this natural plant extract helps protect skin from the harmful effects of UVA & UVB radiation. Its effectiveness has been clinically demonstrated in both topical and oral sun protection products.

heliocare2I understand how harmful and damaging the sun’s rays can be, especially for someone like me who’s already actively aging. I used to spend a lot of time soaking up the rays while on island getaways, guess that explains my tanned complexion. So I’m really excited to receive a jar to try out and experience it for myself.

helio

It looks really special because of it’s unique purple color.

Check out the new levels of protection offered by the Pure White Radiance other than sun protection :

Antioxidant

The global antioxidant effect was quantified chemically and previously confirmed with biological tests, showing significant results when compared to vitamin C and beta-carotene.

Photoprotector
(skin protector)

Administered orally or topically, it increases tolerance to sunburn. In studies conducted in conjunction with the Dermatology Department at Harvard University (Boston, MA, U.S.), it was found that oral intake prior to exposure to the sun significantly increased the minimum amount of solar erythema, resulting in a protection factor of approximately 2.5.

DNA or genetic material protector

Oral use of EPL prior to exposure to ultraviolet radiation significantly reduced the number of cells with thymine dimmers. After use, a significant reduction in the number of sunburned cells was observed.

Immunoprotector

The oral administration of EPL modulates the production of buffers and cytokines proinflammatories by the skin cells after their exposure to ultraviolet radiation. EPL has also shown protective capabilities in Langerhans cells, maintaining their numbers and morphology.

Skin aging
preventive

This benefit has been experimentally confirmed in a murine model for aging skin, showing a reduction of skin elastosis compared to general elastosis. It is a naturally-derived organic extract.

Above extract are from Heliocare’s fact sheet. Ok, can’t wait to try it out and blog a review. Do watch out for it 😉

[Giveaway] L’oreal White Perfect Laser, even better than IPL?

Recently, I attended a blogger event with June by L’oreal where they made a bold claim; that their latest L’oreal White Perfect Laser whitening skincare range had proven clinical results which resemble the aftermath of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).

Don’t mind my sickly, pasty white face as I was down was a bad flu and nearly forgotten all about this event till I got the reminder from L’oreal.

Check out the stars of the night:

Left to right; White Perfect Laser Anti-Spot Brightening Essence (S$39.90) and the All-Round Whitening Cream SPF19/PA+++ (S$32.90)

We all know that IPL as a popular though pricey method to whiten the skin. Others go for vitamin C drips which are also not very friendly on the pocket, costing a few hundreds a go. With the L’oreal White Perfect Laser, fairer and brighter skin seems achievable in a more affordable manner.

Details on how to WIN a L’oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence (S$39.90) & UV Perfect sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++ (S$17.90) under the cut…

[Review] Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk with SPF50 PA+++

If you do follow my blog, you will know that I am a Hada Labo fan! This will be the 5th product I am going to review. So excited to try it out after receiving it. If you wish to read up my other reviews, please CLICK HERE!

38ml for S$19.90, retailing exclusively at Watsons

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk with SPF50 PA+++ is a 3-In-1 Sun Protection which offers High Sun Protection While Caring For Skin. This multipurpose UV milk has 3-in-1 benefits: UV Protection, Hydration, and Make-Up Base

The UV milk is gentle on skin, as it is free of artificial ingredients such fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant that may burden the skin. This UV milk also keeps the skin’s pH balanced, and is rigorously tested for low skin irritation.

Sounds good, yeah? This is why I’m so excited to try it out. Especially since I have sensitive skin now, I wasn’t sure about experimenting with new products. But so far, Hada Labo products have been gentle on my skin. So I took the plunge…

As you can see, the bottle is pretty small and handy. Which makes it convenient to just bring it along anywhere.  I also like how it doubles up as a makeup base too. Just check out the texture:

This reminds me of another Japanese brand of sunscreen that is very popular. The runny liquid may seem watery but do not be fooled by its appearence. After a few rubs, it turns into what seems like a powdery touch. The skin is then protected with sunscreen but there is no unsightly white cast.

Because it is also a makeup base, makeup goes on smoothly after that and stays throughout the day. This is defintely another product by Hada Labo worth checking out.

[REVIEW] Joyce’s Pharmacy – Leaders Clinic Sensitive Sun Cream SPF 50+/PA+++

From this week onwards, I’ll be blogging about the products I’ve received from Joyce’s Pharmacy to try out. If you do remember, I did try out their Leaders Clinic’s Tea Tree Solution Mask. Do check out for the review here.

Leaders Clinic is a Korean skincare brand that is very popular in Korea and is now available in Singapore so that we beauty junkies here could also reap the benefits of their product offerings!

I was given this Leaders Clinic Sensitive Sun Cream SPF 50+ / PA+++ to try out. I’ve always emphasized on the importance of sunscreen and how using it can prevent photo-aging.
