Supermarket Hauls From Batam

So I went on a short 2 days 1 night getaway to Batam last week. When I plan a trip down there, I would just do the usuals which included eating at A&Ws and getting a massage. If you ask me about the shopping, I would tell you that there is nothing much to get over there. The more popular mall which is at Nagoya Hill is full of stores selling counterfeit products. Then my girlfriend told me to check out the supermarkets instead. And I could not believe myself, as a self-proclaimed bargain hunter who sweeps shelves in supermarkets in Johor Bahru, how could I totally not think of this!?

Unfortunately due to bad planning, we reached Batam in time for our massage and after that it was a race against time to grab dinner and do a little shopping. I had only managed to hit the supermarket the next day before leaving for Singapore. Guess what were my hauls?

[Review] Marc Anthony’s Oil of Morocco Argan Oil

image (22)

After trying out Marc Anthony’s Oil of Morocco Argan Oil hair range. I couldn’t stop running my hands through my hair. Some shampoos despite claiming to be moisturizing and for damaged hair have left my locks all dry and brittle. But not this range, in fact, it felt so good just using the shampoo + conditioner combo only. You can only imagine the results when used together with the Argan Oil Treatment.

What’s so special about this Oil of Morocco range is that it has combined Argan Oil with another super-ingredient, Keratin, which helps to fortify, protect and correct hair cuticles. You would be pleased to know that the products are sulfate free and suitable for those with sensitive scalps.

Both shampoo and conditioner contains Keratin, Grape Seed Oil and Argan Oil. It protects hair from damage, prevents frizz and preserves color. The shampoo deeply cleanses to rejuvenate and rid hair of impurities while the conditioner instantly smoothes frizz and creates soft, shiny and supple hair.

I wasn’t expecting for such astonishing results until I tried it for myself. And I should have known better since Argan Oil is very versatile essential oil that has multipurpose benefits. I was saved from stretch marks on my tummy during pregnancy all thanks to Argan Oil. It boosts of high levels of antioxidants. When it comes to hair, Argan Oil helps to regain shine and strengthen. So it’s really a very useful and nourishing product.

Also in this collection is the Argan Oil Treatment which can be used daily for stronger, glossier and frizz-free hair. It contains all these rich, antioxidant and nourishing properties such as Argan Oil, Mediterranean Olive Oil, Keratin, Vitamin E and Shea Butter.

You can use it on either dry or damp hair, just apply 1-3 drops, spreading it evenly and style hair as per normal. For damaged hair, apply 2-4 drops at night before bedtime. You will definitely feel and see the difference in the morning. Trust me on that.

You can find Marc Anthony’s Oil of Morocco Argan Oil products at selected Watson’s Stores including Ngee Ann City, Bugis Junction, ION Orchard, Marina Square and Vivo City. Both Shampoo & Conditioner are going for S$17.90 each while the Treatment Oil is priced at S$18.90.

Tsubaki Hair Range Repackaged & Improved

Some time back, I was invited to the Tsubaki media launch for their improved and repackaged product range.  The new bottles that feature the key ingredient in its product, the Camellia flowers on its packaging. My first encounter with Tsubaki products was back in 2011 and I have nothing but raves for the range. You would probably like to read back my previous entries on Tsubaki.

This new range has been newly improved to suit the latest haircare preference, which is natural lightness. Women are going for that natural, airy lightness in their hair on top of beautiful hair that is and looks healthy. Healthy-looking hair is not only beautiful but also shiny. However, damage from exposure to UV or heat can cause loss of melanin which then leads to loss of shine and luster. This is where the new Tsubaki products plays an important role with its special ingredient, Arginine. It internally repairs the damaged hair so that achieving lustrous hair is now a possibility.

Like the previous range, there are 3 types so that there’s something for each hair type.

image

The SHINING Series is for silky manageable hair with a satiny smooth texture. The range features the hair melanin hole reparative ingredient- Arginine, for hair shine – Camellia oil, for moisture and shine – Camellia Leaf Essence.

Available in this SHINING series is the shampoo, conditioner , treatment and hair mask.

The DAMAGE CARE series features the usual hair melanin hole reparative ingredient- Arginine, for hair shine – Camellia oil and the Camellia Repair Butter which is for hair repair and moisture. This range is suitable for those with damaged and dry hair.

Like the SHINING series, it also comes with the shampoo, conditioner, treatment and mask.

The HEAD SPA series is for those who are looking for a head spa experience in the comforts and convenience of their own home and without burning a hole in their pocket. Shiseido’s research has shown that an unhealthy scalp would result in unhealthy hair. Thus, it is important to maintain a healthy scalp. The Camellia Flower Essence is an anti-inflammatory agent and hair moisturizing agent so that hair is firm and supple right from the roots. It also boosts of a new relaxing natural aroma with floral notes that helps one to relax and unwind.

The essential oil blend in this HEAD SPA series consists of sage oil, ginger, thyme, rosehip and sorbitol, all of which promote healthy scalp and hair growth. This range consists of the shampoo, conditioner, extra cleansing and treatment.

Remember the Head Spa Extract Cleansing from the previous range which recommended a once a week usage guideline? Well, the newly improved version is gentle enough to be used daily.

The new range is now available exclusively at Watsons stores. Do check them out :)

[Review] New ASIENCE Leave-On Hair Treatment range

Oh look what we have here… It’s the new ASIENCE Leave-On Hair Treatment range.

“Stepping out of house with the perfect hair, only to find your confidence waning by mid-day? With Singapore’s humid weather creating undesirable frizz and flyaway, having silky-smooth hair would seem almost unattainable. Achieving beautiful hair that lasts all day is just a step away with the New ASIENCE Leave-On Hair Treatment range.

Containing ASIENCE’s exclusive Beauty Essences (Lotus Flower, Camellia Oil, Pearl and Shell Ginger Leaf), the range provides intensive repair and moisturises hair from within. Enhanced with a hair ‘veiling’ ingredient,ASIENCE’s advanced Moisture-Lock Complex retains moisture to give long-lasting smoothness and manageability, so you can flaunt those silky tresses at any moment, everyday!”

Now, I’m excited to try out the leave-on hair treatment for myself 😀

photo 1

So there are 3 types available as different hair types require different treatments.

ASIENCE Leave-On Treatment Water: For Tangled and Untamed Hair – Light as water, it instantly repairs and retains moisture without weighing your hair down

ASIENCE Leave-On Treatment Milk: For dry and frizzy hair – Nourishing yet non-greasy, it instantly repairs and retains moisture to keep hair beautifully soft and healthy

ASIENCE Leave-On Treatment Oil: For Severely Dry and Damaged Hair – Concentrated yet non-oily, it intensively repairs and retains moisture to keep hair glossy and healthy

Judging from the above list, my hair type belongs to the tangled and untamed kind so the ASIENCE Leave-On Treatment Water is most suitable for me. Having it a spray bottle makes it really convenient to use.

You can use this on towel-dry or damp hair, simply just spray a few times while making sure that it’s evenly spread out before combing through. I’m amazed at how hassle-free and easy this is. I would most probably be keeping a bottle of it in my car so that I can look neat and presentable before my appointments.

ascience

As you can see in the BEFORE photo, I’m quite a victim of frizzy, tangled hair with all the flyaways. But after using the ASIENCE Leave-On Treatment Water, my hair is so much neater and manageable. Now I can say goodbye to cursed flyaway hair!

With a texture and consistency that’s like water, I don’t need to worry about any oily sheen or if hair that would look unnatural and stiff. So this one is definitely a keeper :)

ASIENCE Leave-On Treatment range retails at S$14.90 and is available at selected hypermarkets, supermarkets and pharmacies.

Shiseido reveals new range of hair products – Tsubaki Head Spa Series

If you do recall, I had blogged about the Tsubaki hair products previously HERE. For months, I have been using these products and friends have commented that my hair looks much healthier than before. Previously, the Tsubaki Shining range (Red) and Tsubaki Damage Care Range (White) were introduced to the Singapore market.

I am personally a fan of the Damage Care Range since my hair has been chemically treated many times over, it is pretty badly damaged. And I require all the care and nourishment to mend it. I also learnt that some may find the Shining Range a tad bit too moisturizing for them. So this time round, a new range is introduced to resolve that issue.

Presenting the TSUBAKI HEAD SPA series:

Shampoo – 550ml S$19.90

Conditioner – 550ml S$19.90

Treatment Mask – 180g S$22.90

Extra Cleansing – 280ml S$15.90

With this new range, you can now enjoy a head spa in the comforts of your own home. These 4 products; the Shampoo, Conditioner, Mask Treatment and Extra Cleansing (left to right above) all contain a combination of natural essential oils – Marigold, Rose, Cinnamon, Geranium, Mango, Olibanum, Litchi, Patchouli, Tangerine, Orange flower, Muguet, Laurel leaf, Cognac oil, Vetivr, Musk, Cedar wood, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Bergamot, Vanilla for moisturizing the scalp and hair. The Tsubaki Head Spa‘s fine textured foam penetrates the nutrients deep into hair and scalp which removes build-up and residue. So you can have healthy hair from root to tip.
