Finally Got Rid Of My Ugly Mole & Warts!

I’ve always been bothered about these skin colored bumps on my face and going for a facial would always be a nightmare because of all the different kinds of diagnosis the helpful therapists would offer. I had been told that I had milia seeds, skin tags and even enlarged sweat glands (syringomas). However, I decided that the best person to consult on what’s invading my face would be an aesthetic doctor, someone with a medical background whom I could entrust my face with.

I made an appointment to see Dr Ivan Tan at Nu.Reflections clinic. Why Dr Tan? Well, he has 14 years of experience and specialized qualifications in dermatology. Dr Tan’s friendly demeanor made me at ease even though I was initially nervous. I could ask all the questions I wanted to without feeling silly. After examining my face, Dr Tan told me that these were warts.

A wart is a skin growth caused by some types of the virus called the human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV infects the top layer of skin, usually entering the body in an area of broken skin. The virus causes the top layer of skin to grow rapidly, forming a wart. Now, other than looking unsightly, the scary thing about these warts was that they could easily spread by direct contact with a human papillomavirus. You can infect yourself again by touching the wart and then touching another part of your body.

Now after learning about that, I was very certain that I had to have them removed. Dr Tan recommended removal of the warts through Radio Cautery. This is a procedure where radiowaves are used to vaporise the lesions on the skin. It can be used to remove warts, skin tag, moles and other skin growth. Continue reading

[Review] Joy Pharmacy’s Leader’s Clinic Tea Tree Healing Solution Mask

Of late, I’ve been getting zits and now there’s 6 blemish scars which I’m eagerly anticipating their dismiss. And also, 2 more fresh new zits which are such an eyesore. The culprit could be the hot, humid weather or the bacteria on my fingers and nails. Perhaps, my night skincare regime is too rich for my skin. I had started using a hydrating serum and a moisturizer after that. And despite sleeping in an air-conditioned room, it could still be too oily and clogging my pores. So many possibilities but anyway, I hope to get rid of these unsightly zits now.

So, when I received this package in the mail, it was like an answer to my problems.

Will you ever outgrow acne?

An article by PAULA BEGOUN of Cosmetic Cops to share :)

It’s a myth that women outgrow acne yet the belief that you’re not supposed to break out once you reach your 20s and beyond persists!

If only that myth were true, my skin-care struggles in life would have been very different. In fact, women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and even 50s can have acne just like teenagers, and the treatment principles remain the same.

Not everyone who has acne as a teenager will grow out of it, and even if you had clear skin as a teenager, there’s no guarantee that you won’t get acne later in life, perhaps during menopause.

You can blame this often-maddening inconsistency on hormones. What is true is that men can outgrow acne, because after puberty men’s hormone levels level out, while women’s hormone levels fluctuate throughout their lifetime, which is why many women experience breakouts around their menstrual cycle
(Sources: International Journal of Cosmetic Science, June 2004, pages 129-138; American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, May 2006, pages 281-290; International Journal of Dermatology, November 2007, pages 1188-1191).

Regardless of your age, gender, skin color, or ethnicity, what causes acne is the same across the board (Source: British Journal of Dermatology, May 2000, pages 885–892). As a result there are certain basics for fighting breakouts that are essential if you are going to have any chance of winning the battle.

To create a plan of action—and it does take an organized plan of action and experimentation—it is essential to let go of all the persistent and pervasive but inaccurate information concerning blemishes and instead learn what really can help your skin. You can’t choose wisely if you don’t know what you’re fighting against!

If you don’t understand all your options and don’t focus on what can work and what can’t, you will end up making the condition worse than it was to begin with, or find temporary relief only to have the problems show up time and time again.

I discuss all of the various options for managing acne in my latest book, The Original Beauty Bible, 3rd Edition.

Shills Review

Where to buy?: Beauty Bistro OR John Little / SASA
How much? SGD$21.50

I couldn’t find much info about this particular KoreanTaiwan brand, Shills.
However, I know that it’s much raved on NU REN WO ZUI DA and that it can
be found in
It is also retailing in some local online stores.
Try googling for ‘Beauty Bistro’ or ‘Yourlifestore’.

What I got recently:

Super Magic BB Cream, Sexy Legs Spray Foundation Retail Price $21.50
cus I have ugly legs….

Product Description: SHILLS B.B Cream Sexy Leg Spray Foundation gives you the instant effects of sexy glossy legs without stockings or pantyhose. With its creative super light nude-look particle adsorbing technology, it instantly modifies uneven skin complexion.

No oily & uncomfortable feeling in hot climates. Extracted from all natural herbal essence with Korean manufactured EGF technology.

Natural whitening Arbutin essence whitens and moisturizes the skin. Peppermint essence refreshes tired legs and cools down skin in hot weather.

VERDICT: It is just like what the product description suggests.
Foundation for your legs. What comes out of the nozzle is icy cold, beige mousse-like substances. Then you spread it evenly over your legs so that you don’t look like you’ve got patchy legs.

I don’t know how long can one tiny spray can like this last me!!!
Seriously, if you need to do this for both entire legs, it’s gonna take quite abit of
the BB cream.
It did work though but needs alot of spreading and proper blending lest you end up looking streakish.

You see, I get red marks after I epilate my legs.
And this would help in concealing the marks even if it’s just alil coverage.

And we shall move on to then next product….

Shills Chocolate Peel Off Mask Retail Price $21.50

Product Description: A French chocolate beauty secret. Firms and tighten pores without oiliness and brightens the skin immediately. Removes excess oil and impurities by peeling, purifies the skin surface.

Shills Chocolate Peel off Whitening Mask is creatively made using chocolate essence and natural herbs which help to deep cleanse pores, remove old dead skin and extra oil. It can effectively slim facial features to create 3D V-face. The results are a slim, whiter and soften skin.

Strong chocolate fragrance brightens your mood.

VERDICT: Ouch, painful when you peel it off!

It’s like chocolate fudge oozing out of a tube! You spread it evenly onto
the spot you want and wait for it to dry.
After that, you can start peeling and oh boy, does it hurts! Cus it’s
kinda like waxing.

This product REALLY removes your facial hair.
I saw like a zillion of tiny, very faint fine hair on the mask!!!

It was not as effective in removing my blackheads as a pore pack but I still
like this mask! Haha! I don’t know why. Maybe cus it’s something
so unique and innovative since it’s a CHOCOLATE mask. When on second thoughts,
it is really pretty similar to the Dasio Charcoal Mask which costs $2 only.

I think I’ll grab a charcoal mask soon and try it out again to compare the two.

Stick to the Shills mask.
I tried the Dasio charcoal mask and it didn’t really work at all.

It works great if you use a scrub before using the mask!

How BP – Benzoyl Peroxide Saved My Face

Where to buy?: Guardian
How much? RP $13.60

How I used it: Applied a thin layer over the affected areas.
As it can be drying, I would apply moisturiser over it.
But sometimes I don’t.
You just use it whenever you deem fit to.(Referring to BP)

Back then mid last year, I got a major breakout due to exam stress.
I was unhappy and never felt so ugly in my entire life before.
Everyone who saw me asked me what went wrong…
And I had to use such thick makeup in bid to conceal my horrible,
awful marks but in vain.

Life seemed meaningless. I tried everything and anything except BP
(Benzoyl Peroxide) because I read about how harsh it was and the brown
stains it would leave on your face.

I piled on sacrylic acid gel, even tried drinking and applying
organic apple cider vinegar!!! But nothing worked! Or at least I tried
to fool myself into thinking that it did.

Then, I kept going back to to read about the BP regime.
I was skeptical but at my wits’ ends. So I got myself a tube of
Benzac BP 2.5%.

And life was never the same again….

Let’s look at how it flattened my acne within 3 days!!!

One month later, the scars could barely be seen and I never felt so
relieved in my life. The whole ordeal was over….
I gained back my confidence but I never really took a proper closeup of my face
to do a comparision.

So a few days back, I did it as my skin has cleared up so well til now.

It could be the Bio-essence Tanaka White range at work too.
I love it and I love the way my skin looks now!
