Sporty Chic Fashion: How To Get It Right

I have never been a sporty person but who says you need to be one to dress the part? Sporty chic culture is not something new in the fashion scene, especially not to famous celebrity fashionistas such as Rihanna, Rita Ora & Cara Delevingne.

Sporty chic has also gained popularity in the land of Kimchi where Kpop celebrities add their own unique twists to this fashion style.

So what makes the marriage of sports and fashion? Here’s my list of MUST-HAVES if you want to make this look work. Continue reading

When Plastic Surgery Becomes An Obsession

With the media bombarding us with endless images of the supposed standards of beauty, it is no surprise that some women (and men) have turned to plastic surgery to achieve their ideals of the perfect look. And along the way, some get so obsessed with plastic surgery, that they end up looking far from good-looking. When I watch K-drama, I am in awe of how some of the Kpop stars still manage to look pretty natural despite the amount of work. While others are less fortunate and end up looking really PLASTIC.

How can such a taut-looking face be considered beautiful?

Everyone love pan asians and I’m one of those who secretly wishes that she looks pan-asian too. After all, it’s a very sought-after exotic look. Some take this obsession a step further by going for plastic surgery. Sadly, they all turn out looking the same; creepy and fake-looking. I recently saw a plastic-looking model who was pure chinese but underwent surgery to look eurasian. Her face was so frozen that when she spoke, there were these little unnatural lines that kept twitching at the corners of her upper lip. It’s sad because she used to look pretty before her obsession with surgery begun.  Continue reading

[Review] Etude House Almighty Foundation Precious Minerals Any Cushion SPF 50++/PA +++

First, it was the BB creams, then we had the CC creams and now, one of the latest Korean cosmetic fads are BB creams in a cushion compact. Innovative, much? So what results would I achieve from this BB cushion compact? Would it be much better than the usual BB cream in a tube? Read on to find out…

The shade I tried on is Honey Beige W24. It may look sticky on the cushion sponge but upon application, it turns matt pretty quick. I was also delighted by the coverage it provided. As you can see from the below comparison photo, it managed to conceal most of my blemishes rather well. It did a good job with my dark eye circles for a BB cream.

2013-10-05 12.44.03_resizedThe texture is light and application with the sponge provided is a breeze. No need to worry about foundation stains on your clothing because you do not need to use your bare fingers.

20131005_091914_resizedIt’s compact sized casing fits well in my palm, I could just bring it out for a quick touch-ups in a small purse. Another plus point, I guess 😉

The Almighty Foundation boasts of 6 multi-functions: Suncreen, Sebum Control Powder, Moisture Essence, Whitening Essence, Cooling and Foundation.

Loving the light, natural sheen it gives off like that of a CC cream. If you have just ran out of BB or CC cream, maybe you would like to stop by an Etude House store to check this out.

How do you Hook Korean Men?

So, Do I Look More Korean Now?

Koreans can think of anything and make a trend out of nothing. And it’s all because they are so influential in setting trends. So much so that now, this korean puffy eyes look which many Korean actresses and singers are spotting have caused normal folks to resort to plastic surgery. Yes, Koreans (and everyone whose just as crazy as them) are undergoing the knife just to have these fatty lower lids permanently there. Why? Because you look feminine, innocent and girly.

I have puffy eyes and now they are making it into a trend so isn’t it great? Let’s hope someday the Koreans decide that muffin tops and love handles are the new sexy and I would be one hot oh-la-la babe.

So now Korean-wannabes can achieve the Aegyo Sal korean eye bags look with Etude House’s Dear Girls Cute Eyes Maker. It’s an eye makeup wand that comes with 2 different colors of shimmery pigmented powder on each end. Step 1 is a light brown shade while Step 2 is a pearlized pink shade.

And it’s pretty simple to use if you follow the instruction sheet shown above. Create a shadow using the Step 1 and fill up the area above using Step 2 to make it pop and look puffy. Resulting in CUTE EYES or so the product states.

My dark eye rings were screaming out loud as I applied the Cute Eyes Maker. I’m not sure if I am doing it right or not. I did use tons of concealer before applying. Just to make sure I wasn’t accentuating my dark eye rings any further.

Anyway, this was fun to play around with. I already feel more Korean with my now very obvious puffy eyes @_@

Pretty Woman

In the past, undergoing the knife to look better was something kept under wraps and not to be talked about. However, as aesthetic procedures and plastic surgery became as common as taking a stroll in the park. People have started to be more open about having undergone such works. Some even taking it to the extends of sharing it online via social media websites.

And with the latest K-wave that swept Asia, beauty has once again been redefined. Everyone is dying to look, appear or even pass off as a Korean. All thanks to K-pop singers and groups such as Girls Generations and Missy A sporting fresh-faced, wide-eyed ladies with almost perfect-looking features.

Honestly, I don’t believe that their good looks can be attributed to just purely makeup. So there are rumors about plastic surgery. Well, with Korea being one of the top countries to go to for plastic surgery. Surely that is no big secret, right?

I mean, if you werent naturally blessed with good looks. Then there’s no harm forking out some money and having that fixed. Who won’t want to look like Kim Ah-Jung?

How bout Angelababy?

Or Nickhun for the guys?

So if you hate your droopy eyes or flat nose THAT much, then why not do something about? If you think that it would increase your self esteem and confidence, then why not? While I am probably gonna stick to just maybe minor, non-invasive aesthetic treatments such as botox and fillers, should I ever require them. I do not see anything wrong with undergoing plastic surgery or aesthetic procedures.

Personally, I think that life is too short, so just go ahead and do whatever that makes you happy. If I had the courage and money, I would love to pop by any famous surgeon’s clinic and get my face sharpened. I’m not sure how they are going to do it. Lengthen my face shape by adding chin fillers? Or inject botox into my square jaws. Perhaps, my face is too fat, I’ll probably need both procedures? Heh…

Speaking of which, I’ve tried jaw reduction with botox before. You can read all about my experience here. It was quick and relatively painless, my only grouse is the hefty price tag.

Also, aesthetic procedures are not just limited to botox and fillers. There’s a range of other treatments which are said to promote youthful looking skin through the use of lasers and other technology. Amazing, isn’t it?

Well, if you are curious and itching to find out more. Then you should really head down over to www.AestheticsHub.com , specially brought to you by MyFatPocket, is a new portal where consumers can gain knowledge and be empowered to make informed decisions about how to look and feel better.
