[Review] Eyelash Extensions At ES Beauty Tokyo

Nestled conveniently in the heart of Orchard is this lovely beauty parlour owned and ran by Japanese ladies. This is ES Beauty Tokyo, located at #03-21 of Orchard Central. They offer a host of beauty services such as nail services, facials, slimming treatments, IPL hair removal services , eyelash perming and extension.

I was invited to try out their eyelash extension services and as you know, it has been a very long time since I had eyelash extensions done. I have this hate-love relationship with eyelash extensions because while I love long, dolly lashes, I am sometimes not careful enough when it comes to maintaining them. Like for example, rubbing my eyes without thinking. Anyway, I decided to give eyelash extensions another try.

[Review] New Moon Inner Radiance Collagen Drink

I’m sure most of us are familiar with New Moon, especially during Chinese new year because they are the number 1 Abalone brand in the market. New Moon has since expanded its product range to include more than 100 products through constant innovation and one of their latest offerings is the New Moon Inner Radiance Collagen Drink.

A couple of months ago, I was part of the R&D process for this collagen drink. The MFP bloggers including myself went through the blind testing of flavors, voted for the packaging and also a skin analysis after a one month’s trial of the product to determine its effectiveness. We had totally no idea which brand was launching this until now.

[Review+Event] Japanese Anime Sailor Moon Miracle Romance Makeup By CreerBeaute

You’ve got to give it to the Japanese for coming up with the most kawaii cosmetic packaging. Especially one that has your childhood Japanese anime characters on it. Some of you might have spotted these La Rose de Versailles makeup products in Watsons, and if you are a fan, rejoice because CreerBeaute (Japanese cosmetic brand under Bandai) will be officially launching in Singapore!

[Review] Fueki Nakayoshi Horse Oil Body Cream

Horse oil? I see you cringe and honestly, I did that too but the packaging was too irresistibly cute that I had to buy it. Just look at that jar and those puppy eyes, get what I mean? Sadly, after my purchase, it was then left forgotten in my heap of beauty stash until a few days ago where I chanced upon it again..

[Review] Liese Hair Spray – Best selling Hair Spray in Japan!

I hardly ever use hair styling products cuz I’m such a lazy person. I prefer to wear my hair as it is but sometimes it gets so unmanageable. And there are days where I’m feeling slightly more adventurous and want to spice up things alittle.

Now, Liese has 2 best-selling hair sprays you can check out. I was given both to play around with. There is the Free Arrange Hair Spray for Airy and Light style without any stickiness. And there is Super Hard Hair Spray for those who want to lock their hairstyle in place.

Untitled 5.33.42 PM

I am a fan of the Super Hard Hair Spray, never thought I would say this though. Because I am one of those who would prefer an airy and light hair-do instead. However, I didn’t really feel much difference with the Free Arrange Hair Spray.

You see all the flyaway baby hairs sticking out like a sore thumb? I managed to tame them with Liese’s Clear Cube Wax 01. Then to get it to stay in place for the entire day, I used the Super Hard Hair Spray and guess what? I’m pretty pleased with the end result :)

Are you a Rilakkuma fan?

Move aside, Hello Kitty fans. It’s the Rilakkuma invasion. This adorable, lazy bear character from Japan has gained fans worldwide that it even have stores dedicated to selling only its merchandise.

Rilakkuma (リラックマ Rirakkuma?, a combination of the Japanese pronunciation of relax and the Japanese word for bear) is a Japanese character designed by Aki Kondo, produced by San-X in 2003.

Here’s my take on the top items every Rilakkuma fan should have.

Rilakkuma apparel:

Every self-respecting Rilakkuma fan must own at least one piece of Rilakkuma apparel. It doesn’t matter if its authentic Sanrio merchandise or not. But you must own a piece before you can truly proclaim yourself as a fan.

Rilakkuma stationery:

To keep you motivated at school or your desk job, it’s highly recommended that you as a Rilakkuma fan keep some stationery of this kawaii relax bear. Besides being irresistibly cute, at least these character merchandise are practical and functional.

Rilakkuma cushion/pillow:

Because a cushion or pillow is much more practical than a plush toy. You can hug it or use as a back support too.

Rilakkuma handphone case:

As you carry your mobile with you all the time, why not add a little eye candy to it with a Rilakkuma handphone casing?

And because you have everything else. A Rilakkuma plush would complete the collection.

Gossip Gossip Gossip

If there had to be an award for top gossiper, I would have bagged it or at least be on the list of nominees.

And when it comes to crazy news around the world from weird stuff happening in whichever neighbor or who your favorite celebrity is seeing. My Fat Pocket & Rocket News 24 has got you covered. Go ahead and leech on their gossip database, I won’t tell.

To bring you the latest juicy updates, MyFatPocket has partnered with RocketNews24, a Japanese-language news blog from Tokyo. Since their humble launch in 2008, they’ve built a massive fan base by reporting the interesting, strange and random, much of it brought over from the English-speaking world.

Two years later, they launched their English site to bring Asia’s own brand of strange to the English-speaking world. Most of the articles offered are translated right from the Japanese site, providing you unique stories and trivial information about Japan, by Japan.
