Seoul Day 1-3 (Myeongdong, Express Bus Terminal, Nami Island, Petite France & N Seoul Tower)

The Seoul trip last month was kind of impromptu and I had only bqooked tickets and accommodation a month before so it was pretty pricey but the chance to just escape from all the crap down here was simply too alluring. And there was no regrets at all though travelling with the little one was really quite a headache.

Myeongdong

Our hotel was right smack in Myeongdong, also known as the beauty shopping street because there are so many skincare and cosmetic shops around. Here you can find Etude House, Innisfree, The Face Shop, Nature Republic, Olive Young and the list goes on. Many K-beauty fanatics like to come here to shop for their beauty supplies, which is probably cheaper only if you buy in bulk. However, with the convenience of online shopping, I can noticed that I could easily get the same items from online platforms such as Qoo10 which ships from Korea at around the same price too. So shopping wasn’t exactly a top priority for me this trip.

Brighten Up Someone’s Day With Beautiful Blooms From A Better Florist

We celebrated my mom’s birthday and I surprised her with a lovely table arrangement from A Better Florist. I chose The Priscilla because it was one of the prettiest blooms available on the site and it came in a glass vase that was wrapped in twine, giving it an overall rustic vibe. Check out the beautiful symphony of daisies, gerberas & roses which blew our breaths away.

Falling In Love With Flowers

It all started with a friend sharing photos of fresh flower bouquets with me and then subsequently surprising me with one.

Then I happened to attend a media event where I got to get hands-on with fresh flowers and put together my very own floral bouquet. We got to fiddle around with flowers such as hydrangeas, roses, orchids and even the cotton flowers. And I was pretty proud of my own creation.

[Valentine’s Day Special] Say It With Bears

Like most ladies, I have a soft spot for flowers but not when they start to wither and get all ugly and stinky. Won’t it be nice if Valentine’s day bouquets could last forever? That way, memories could be preserved for a long time.

These are not your typical Valentine’s day roses. Sure, real flowers are nice but let’s face it… they only look good for a short while before they start dying. I remember spotting flies circling my fresh flowers bouquet and the nasty stench it started to emit when it was nearing its expiry date. Trust me, it was definitely not a pretty picture.

You could avoid such an undesirable scenario by getting your sweetheart something special from Love U Beary Much. Their foam roses are obviously artificial but do not look the part. And best of all, they won’t wither or stink up the place. Continue reading

Survive Vday 101

And so it’s the day after Vday, some probably had their dreams crushed, some got wasted, some got lucky while some are just glad it’s damn well over. And you know what, I feel you, because it’s so overrated and plasticky superficial, I’m glad it’s over.
Trust me, if you’re in love, everyday’s gonna be paradise for the both of you till the magic dies off and of cause that’s gonna happen because this is reality. It’s ain’t a fairy tale where people live happily ever after. There’s still gonna be them ‘evil witches and villains’ trying to tear you guys apart. But it’s with these experiences that you learn and grow along with.
So if you didn’t score well last night then please bookmark these articles from My Fat Pocket. It’s like a Vday guide for dummies.

I don’t have any Vday plans

Like what I’ve mentioned in my earlier blog entry on Vday, I find it overrated and commercialized. Everyday can be a Valentine’s day, you don’t need to wait till 14th Feb to remind each other of your love. When I was younger, I used to fuss over Vday. But now, let’s just say I’ve outgrown it.
You see, the restaurants will be packed and they’ll only serve a fixed menu which can be really boring for me. And the streets would be packed, the car parks would be full. And if you didn’t book in advance, you would probably have to join a long queue just to get a chance to taste that fixed set menu they serve.
