We have been to the Sembawang Shopping Centre playground several times but today we decided to try out the splash park instead. The splash park is in operation on weekdays from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm. While on the weekends, it is in operation during 11 am to 8 pm. We went on a weekday afternoon and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves
The splash park is packed with these water play equipment that features different water movements such as flowing, misting, and jetting.
Unlike most repellent patches currently available in the market which uses citronella or other oils, the Mozzieguard uses 100% natural lemon eucalyptus oil which is according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention an effective mosquito repellent on par with DEET repellents. It is also DEET-free, making it safe for infants and young children.
Well, I think we brought it out to its ultimate test field. And that would be the Night Safari after a rainy afternoon! So how did it fare? Read on to find out.
Safra Yishun unveiled a pirate themed kids’ pool recently. It has added a nice touch to the previously bare swimming pool. The play area however is rather small but I doubt that the kids would mind at all.
So the kiddo has allergy rhinitis, which apparently is rather common in Singapore, affecting up to 50 per cent of children aged 4 to 17 years. And the most common trigger for allergic rhinitis is exposure to house dust mites, followed by cigarette smoke. There are a couple of ways to get rid of house dust mites. You could call in the professionals for cleaning or buy a vacuum cleaner that is suitable for mattress cleaning.
It was saturday night when I decided to get a dust mite cleaner and I wanted to get one to start cleaning by sunday. So my first stop was Qoo10, I remember seeing a number of models selling online but after some thoughts, I decided to get it from a store because I could not wait for delivery.
The British Council had their open house for Napier, Toa Payoh and Marsiling branch on Saturday. We had initially registered for the trial class at the Toa Payoh centre but it was fully booked and they still had slots at the Marsiling centre. Thinking that since it wasn’t too far from our place, I figured why not. The Marsiling branch is located in the Fushun community centre.

I had been thinking of sending Asher to an english enrichment class and saw this as an opportunity to check out if such classes would be beneficial (you know, worth the money spent). When it came to selecting a school for english enrichment, British Council tops my list for obvious reasons. So you could say that I attended the trial lesson with really high expectations. CulinaryOn has to be by far the best cooking class both Asher & I has attended. We were lucky to get a glimpse into what goes on during a lesson at their media launch earlier on this month. The staff have injected so much fun and laughter in the lessons that there is never a dull moment and the children are often kept on their toes, anticipating the next surprise.
What do you do when your preschooler is getting bored of the usual indoor playgrounds he used to frequent? Well, you find something new to keep him busy. The Amped trampoline indoor park is the first in Singapore and has been around for at least a year. But we only got down to visiting it this weekend at their latest branch at River Valley, The Herencia.
Think of it as an indoor playground for the adults as well as children. In fact, it is open to all ages.
It is the time of the year again where parents have the excuse to dress up their little ones in costumes they wished that they had the guts to carry out. If you are wondering where are the appropriate places you could bring your children to celebrate Halloween without risking a nightmare or damaged childhood. Then fret not, because I have compiled a list of not-so-scary Halloween parties that are happening this October.
We had a little staycation over the weekend at Punggol Ranch Resort to celebrate Asher’s 3rd birthday. I think it is amazing how my little bun is looking all grown up already. I had been cracking my brains for a venue for his 3rd birthday since a few months back. For his first big bash, we had it held at KidsAmaze, then the 2nd one was done in our home and now I needed a fresh, new location for a cosy little private party with family and close friends.
Then I thought since he was fascinated with the horses and ponies whenever we visited Punggol Ranch, why not there? In fact, I had been trying to book a room there but apparently, it is very popular especially with families with young children. So when I finally scored a room via agoda.com, I was elated!
So the haze (or rain) might have kept you and your toddler indoors longer than expected but fret not, because there are so many activities you could do so in the comforts of your very own home. It’s time to stock up on some of the items required for these activities and best of all, you don’t need to get out of the house to purchase them. Hooray for online shopping! Continue reading →
