Sexual empowerment is about understanding, embracing and owning your sexuality, your body and your sexual needs. I am sure having sex is a great way to do so but there are other ways to explore your body and sexuality too. This is where sex toys come into the picture. Smile Makers supports sexual empowerment by offering high quality products that are feminine, friendly and fun.
I have heard horror stories about how sex life after kids is almost non-existent especially when you have more than one. And if you are getting your sexy fix weekly, then you are considered one of the lucky ones because there are some couples who seem to manage by with monthly sex or even quarterly sex. While I understand that some couples are both fine with having lesser sex, it can be frustrating if there is a mismatch in libido.
Well, things do not have to be this way, as I believe that sex is a healthy and natural part of marriage. Sex isn’t just about getting physical but it is also about being intimate and connecting with your spouse.
Besides rushing through five minutes quickies while the children are watching their favourite cartoon on TV, why not make an effort to rekindle that romance by planning a trip sans the kids. Even just a simple staycation would be a good break from the children. Continue reading →
This video has been circulating on Facebook recently and I am so inspired by all these individual stories. Did you know that you were more likely to achieve your goals if you wrote them down, visualise them and thought about them often?
When news of Kate Spade starting to close its Saturday stores in Singapore hit, I thought that the designer label was in troubled waters. Never mind that they said it was a move to concentrate more on their Kate Spade New York brand. But I guess things are looking better for them after Coach, another designer handbag maker, said it would buy Kate Spade & Co for a whooping $2.4 billion (S$3.4 billion).

Safra Yishun unveiled a pirate themed kids’ pool recently. It has added a nice touch to the previously bare swimming pool. The play area however is rather small but I doubt that the kids would mind at all.

Today I am going to write about a topic that has been bugging me for quite sometime; women acting like makeup or even filtering your pictures is such a bad thing. Like it makes you any less beautiful or adequate just because you choose not to go around bare-faced. Now, if you are perfectly fine being au naturale like Alicia Keys, then by all means go ahead. Alicia Keys did also state that her wanting to be makeup-free does not mean that she is anti-makeup. She is not saying that wearing makeup is bad. She is not implying that women who choose to do so, do that to make up for their low self-esteem or whatever other issues you think they have. Alicia Keys just feels better being makeup free and it is her choice. Why should we be persecuting others who choose not to go makeup free?
Today happens to be International Women’s Day, where we celebrate women, their strength, unity and sisterhood. You would expect women to be more supportive of one another but yet ironically, women also tend to be harsh critics of each other. I won’t be surprised if any female on my Facebook list had actually rolled their eyes at my photos such as the one above and bitched about how much makeup I had on or how heavily filtered the picture is, not that I care.
I was first introduced to crystals by a friend and yes, I have seen them around shops. I recall that my dad has an amethyst geode at home. From my limited knowledge of crystals, I used to think of crystal usage in primarily Feng Shui functions. Feng Shui is a Chinese philosophical system of harmonizing everyone with the surrounding environment. Likewise, many New Age practitioners also use crystals for similar functions as Feng Shui practitioners.
There are two types of crystal collectors, the ones that keep them for their beauty and use them as decorative purposes. And there are the ones who believe that crystals have healing properties and use them in their various mediation or healing processes.
Crystals are thought to possess different levels of energy and have a vibration which can be measured, and according to the level of the vibration can be effective healers of individual chakras. The Sanskrit word Chakra literally Translate to wheel or disk. It is believed that the human body has seven centres of spiritual power,of which these are referred to as the chakra. I could go on more about this but let’s keep things simple and talk about my crystals first.
Crystal healing is an ancient art that dates back many years and I understand that there are studies claiming crystal healing to be pseudoscience. Some believe that it is just a placebo effect that people who had positive encounters with crystal healing. Personally, I would suggest going with your intuition. If you think that crystals are just a bunch of hogwash then it would remain what it is and never work for you. But if you have an open mind when it comes to crystals, then you might be surprised at what you would discover and experience.
