Katsu lovers can look forward to a taste-bud-tickling meal with the introduction of an authentic Japanese eatery serving katsu-concepts at digestible price tags. Located within Japan Foods Garden, Fry Pan Shokudo (Fry Pan “canteen”) is the latest eatery to join the enclave of Japanese food options tucked away in a corner of Isetan Scotts Food Republic. Wholly-owned by La Ditta Limited and helmed by successful restauranteur Mr. Taka Daiya, the concept will reignite the thirst for katsu all over again.
Synonymous with its name, Fry Pan Shokudo serves Western-inspired traditional Japanese cutlets on a miniature black ceramic-coated frying pan. The menu features varying katsu-options, with a choice to pair a flaky panko-crusted chicken or pork cutlet, topped with your choice of sauces. Conceptualised by Mr. Taka Daiya who formerly ran a restaurant in Los Angeles frequented by professional tennis player Maria Sharapova, as well as guitarist and singer-songwriter Eric Clapton, the menu retains its authenticity as it would typically be served at canteens in Japan.
LUSH fans rejoice because there’s a new outlet at Vivocity B1-04. Other than their usual array of natural, handmade and organic products, be sure to check out their brand new fragrances. We are really excited because Singapore is the first in Asia to launch the gorilla perfumes.
After trying out every single fragrance, I eventually decided on Amelie Mae & Sun. Amelie Mae has a saccharine sweet fruity and candy-like scent while Sun is refreshing with hints of a citrus note.
Not sure where to bring the kids to this school holiday? Check out the retelling of a timeless classic, The Nutcracker which is produced and presented by Gateway Entertainment and P’Art 1 Design. The Nutcracker infuse spectacular magic, special effects, video animation, and costumes that will capture the imagination and bring this wonderful tale to life. This is a first time I was seeing dance, lasers and magic tricks being combined into one exciting performance.
This magical, theatrical production, directed by Fan Dong Kai, will incorporate world-class illusions performed by award-winning illusionists and father-daughter duo Lawrence and Priscilla Khong. This is the first time the magic duo is staging a performance that has no narration or dialogue, and will rely solely on the art of magic, dance and state-of-the-art technology to tell the story. It will also combine classical music arranged in a modern style by renowned music director Kenn C. The retelling of the old Christmas classic will be the largest scale performance to be held at Gateway Theatre to date with an international dance troupe of 14 dancers and over 50 backstage production crew. The Nutcracker promises to take you on a magical adventure, that will dazzle your senses and touch your heart along the way.
When news of Kate Spade starting to close its Saturday stores in Singapore hit, I thought that the designer label was in troubled waters. Never mind that they said it was a move to concentrate more on their Kate Spade New York brand. But I guess things are looking better for them after Coach, another designer handbag maker, said it would buy Kate Spade & Co for a whooping $2.4 billion (S$3.4 billion).
Safra Yishun unveiled a pirate themed kids’ pool recently. It has added a nice touch to the previously bare swimming pool. The play area however is rather small but I doubt that the kids would mind at all.
Looking back, 2016 wasn’t as horrible as I had made it out to be. I had been so blinded by my anger and bitterness that I had overlooked the immerse amount of blessings I had received in 2016. Just to recall for my blog, I remember starting off the year with a wonderful media invite at CulinaryOn, Asher and I had blast making pasta. The following months brought some great blog collaboration opportunities. As for my social life, I had the chance to reconnect with friends whom played an essential role in being a pillar of strength for the trying period.
Last year’s resolution was simply to lose weight and save more since I was going to start a job. Moving forward this year, I am going to focus on spiritual and emotional healing and growth. I am thankful to a friend who has been giving me guidance so far. I also want to foster stronger relationship with family, communicate better and spend more quality time with them.
But I am not going to be ambitious and start listing my new year resolutions this round. because we all know what happen to new year resolutions after awhile. So I think I shall just end this here for now.
2017, I just know you are going to be an awesome year!
We celebrated my mom’s birthday and I surprised her with a lovely table arrangement from A Better Florist. I chose The Priscilla because it was one of the prettiest blooms available on the site and it came in a glass vase that was wrapped in twine, giving it an overall rustic vibe. Check out the beautiful symphony of daisies, gerberas & roses which blew our breaths away.
A Better Florist brings you the freshest flowers all the way from Cameron Highlands. And there’s no better way than to brighten someone’s day up, send a note that says “I love you”, “I’m thinking of you” or just a simple “Thank you!” than with FLOWERS!
Here’s the good news for my readers, you get a special discount off your total order. Continue reading
Lush is everyone’s favourite handmade cosmetic stores and I was really psyched to be one of the first to check out the latest festive launch which featured both the Halloween and Christmas collection.
My favourite section has got to be the bath bombs area. This Christmasarus Rex is just one of the many fun festive bath bombs available for sale. I found this new range of bath bombs to be more visually captivating the moment they touch the water.
