It has been quite awhile since I last had a facial, so I decided to head down and let Helen check out my skin and recommend what she thought was most suitable. With more than 10 years in the organic beauty business, you can bet that Helen (one of the owners of Pure Tincture) knows her stuff well. That also made me feel well-assured that I was in good hands.

2015-05-26 13.09.05After removing my makeup and analyzing my skin condition, she then recommended the OSEA ANTIOXIDANT FACIAL for me. As my skin type is normal and slightly dry, OSEA products would work very well for me.

The OSEA range is rich in vitamins and minerals with seaweed as one of its main ingredients. Seaweed is one of the richest sources of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, trace elements, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese and zinc. Seaweed is also rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and unsaturated fatty acids; such as linoleic acids and Vitamin K, which are the basis of lipoproteins that strengthen and maintain the quality of a healthy cell membrane. It slows the aging process and protects skin from harsh environmental factors.

The facial was so pampering and relaxing that I think I was drifting in and out of sleep throughout the whole session. So Helen was really sweet to go through the steps of the facial with me again. Here’s what went on during my OSEA Antioxidant Facial:

First, my makeup was removed with the OSEA Cleansing Milk. This was followed by the Vitamin Sea Boost Toner to remove any residual makeup and to tone and prepare the skin for the next step.

After that, it was exfoliation time! A Black Algae Mask was used to reveal clearer skin. It works with deep-cleansing enzymes from with black marine silt and pure fig extract while micro black jojoba spheres provide a gentle granular exfoliation.

Then, I was treated to a lovely exfoliation massage with the steam on to further activate the enzyme. The steamer also gently opens up and unclog pores. I think I fell asleep after being lured into slumber by Helen’s expert hands as she performed the hydration massage next with the OSEA Signature Gigartina Seaweed Gel. This is prepared fresh by soaking a dried freeze seaweed gel and using the gel formed from the seaweed.

After this, it was extraction time and surprisingly, I did not tear at all. Helen’s hands worked her magic and it was almost painless. This was followed by toning of the skin and then another relaxing tapping massage with Gigartina Seaweed Gel to calm skin follow by Vitamin Sea Serum to infuse the skin with anti-oxidants. You must be thinking so many massages? Yes and I love it so much. In fact, you get to choose light or medium-strong for the massages.

Last but not least, the session comes almost to an end with the White Algae Mask that is formulated to correct uneven skin tone and soothes redness while visibly firming and lifting. Maybe this is the reason why I did not have any redness on my skin after the facial session.

I also received a shoulder, decollate and head massage during the mask. After the mask was removed, a toner was used to remove any mask residues before I had another lovely facial massage with Essential Hydrating Oil, an intoxicating bouquet of Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Calendula and Geranium oils deliver advanced hydration and leave skin looking visibly refreshed while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Once we were done, another thin layer of Gigartina Seaweed Gel was applied to my skin to seal and protect it. And sunblock was applied since I would be heading outdoors afterwards.

This has to be one of the best facial experiences I ever had and I would love to return for another one again. Never had I been treated to so many massages in a facial session till I was almost in la-la land. Plus, the products used were all pure, vegan and organic, directly from the sea.
