So while some folks spent their Sunday night at the F1 race, I was over at Amara Hotel, surrounded by beautiful women, for the Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant 2014. Joining me for the night was fellow My Fat Pocket blogger, Jessie.
We were here to witness the 17 hopefuls vie for just 4 crowns, namely the Miss Tourism Queen International 2014, Miss Global Beauty Queen 2014, Miss Singapore All Nations 2014, Miss Friendship International 2014. The 1st runner-up would be given the title, Singapore International Model of the Year 2014 and the 2nd runner-up would be given the title, Singapore Bride of the World 2014.
Charity has always been a priority for all of ERM Singapore’s beauty pageants. And this year’s contest was no different, with its theme being “Beauty with a Heart”. And these ladies had actively helped to raise funds for the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped.
I love how my hair turns out in the photos! Woohoo!
(WARNING! LOTS OF IMAGES.. INCLUDING BIKINI BABES)
The evening opened with an Indonesian dance by the contestants before they did their self-introductions. The casual wear they had on were sponsored by Bag Charm Love and accessories were by Jewel De Belle.
Contestant 10, Luisa Gan & Contestant 11, Tammy Ng were hot favorites, both receiving loud cheers and whistles from the enthusiastic crowd.
There was an award presentation to the sponsors where My Fat Pocket was the official online media for the Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant 2014. Here we have Jessie representing My Fat Pocket to receive the plaque on stage.
We were treated to a lovely belly dance performance while we dined but the crowd were eagerly anticipating the next segment which was the swimwear parade.
Look at all the slim ladies strutting on stage with such confidence. They have such tiny waists and some even had abs. I was telling Jessie that when I was around their age, I didn’t even have any abs. How embarrassing! It takes a lot of guts to be comfortable in your own skin and parade on stage wearing just a bikini. Kudos to the girls!
Some of the contestants also gave a talent show performance. Contestant 2, Gladys Chan, must be a dancer because she had some really slick moves. Contestant 10, Luisa Gan did a sexy number that included a hoola hoop performance while Contestant 11, Tammy Ng, wowed the crowd with a modern dance to a slow song before bringing down the house with a hip hop dance.
And now it’s time for the other segment which I was looking forward to; the evening wear parade. What is there not to love about pretty ladies adorned in beautiful gowns? The spectacular gowns shpwn here were sponsored by Dolce2Dolce.
As the night proceeded, only 8 contestants + 1 wild card would be selected for the final round.
These are the 9 gorgeous ladies who had made it to the final round but there would be only 4 crowns to be won. Before the judges could make their final decision, we had the last segment which was the Question & Answer. It was their last opportunity to impress the judges.
And now, finally the moment which everyone had been anticipating. Who would be the top winners for the night? Both Jessie & I were waiting to see if we had predicted correctly. So here are the 4 beautiful winners:
Miss Singapore All Nations 2014 – Miss Siyamala
Miss Singapore Global Beauty Queen 2014 – Miss Jasmine Chye
Miss Singapore Chinatown 2014 – Miss Tammy Ng
Miss Singapore Tourism Queen International 2014 – Miss Luisa Gan
Congratulations to the winners of the Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant 2014!
Here they are joined by the 1st runner-up, Miss Gladys Chan & 2nd runner-up, Miss Felicia Lim.
Good luck to the winners as they go on to represent Singapore at an international level.
