[Review] Facial & Massage at Passage New York

Nestled in the bustling Central Business District area is a spa boutique called Passage New York. A perfect haven for office workers in the area to come by for a quick lunch time treat or to simply unwind after work with an indulging spa session.

The moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in spa heaven. The place is lusciously furnished, with two levels dedicated to the spa’s amenities and treatment rooms for their members.

First, I had a consultation so that they could recommend a suitable customized treatment for me. I have knots in my shoulders and requested that they concentrated on my back.

This is where I would be having my massage, every room is equipped with a shower room and Jacuzzi bath tub. I had a full body scrub followed by a full body massage with tension relief oil. The therapist’s skillful hands lured me into a fitful slumber and I was slightly disappointed when it was over. But that was not the end of my spa treatment, I was ushered to the facial treatment room for more pampering.

Each facial treatment room is fully equipped with the treatment machines so that your treatment would not be disrupted because you had to wait for another customer to finish using the shared machine or you were disturbed by another therapist coming in to borrow the machine. I know some other facial places that share machines and yes, it can be quite annoying and disruptive. So it’s a good thing that there is nothing of such nonsense over here at Passage New York.

After checking my skin, Vivian, the therapist attending to me recommended an Intense premium facial to treat my dehydrated skin. We begin with the usual cleansing, then facial steaming and a scrub to exfoliate before extraction. I have a bad blackhead problem on my nose and so I will be honest with you, I totally dread extraction since it can hurt sometimes. Amazingly, the extraction did not hurt because Vivian used a special tool to pluck out the blackheads instead of squeezing them out. Hence, there was minimal discomfort felt and my nose was not red at all after the session.

She mentioned that I had very fine blackheads which would be difficult to remove even if I did a diamond peel and that was why she had to pluck them out. This is the first time I had my blackheads plucked instead of squeezed out and it was the best extraction experience ever.

After the routine eyebrow trimming, my tired eyes got to indulge in an ampoule treatment with ultrasound for better absorption, this would help with my fine lines, dark eye rings and puffiness. I also received a white tea and hydrating ampoule treatment for the face. Next, a hydrating double mask was applied onto the whole face while my eyes and neck were treated with a collagen mask.

This is the first time I leave a facial room with zero redness on my face, especially on the nose area. And that pretty much sums up my wonderful spa and facial experience at Passage New York. Want to experience it for yourself? Well, good news because Passage New York has a special promo for you!
