Last week, I spend an evening surrounded by dazzling and trendy jewelry pieces at 2am:dessert bar. It was the launch of Singapore’s fashion accessories brand, Claine by Elaine Chng. Her passion and love for jewelry runs in the family, with both parents being veterans in the local jewelry industry. If statement jewelry and unique finds are your thing, then you would be interested in what I have to share…
I have always been a minimalist and I don’t usually wear accessories except for maybe a pair of earrings when I bother to dress up more. And yet, when I see ladies with layered or chunky statement accessories, I feel envious but was convinced that it was not my style.
This is just part of the collection which I had managed to capture. It’s interesting how despite all the layering, it all seems to fall into place and not look too complicated.
My sister and I had fun trying on the various designs and I think my favorites would be those in black and gold. Edgy and yet with a hint of classiness, I like it that way.
Then we got some help from Tino, the stylist on site in layering the necklaces. He mentioned that because I had a long neck and fair skin (I’m fair? Whoopee!), I should not be afraid to go all the way. I also learnt that greens and blues complimented my skin tone.
Founder and designer, Elaine, feels that the necklace is a must-have accessory to complete her outfit. Hence, there is a huge emphasis on necklaces but they also have other accessories available such as earrings, bracelets and rings.
All items are reasonably priced from S$10+ and above. You can browse for more designs and items over at www.claineonline.com
