[Review] Beauty Haul From My Daily Skincare

Remember the last time I had shared about my favourite serum from Loveisderma?  Well, guess what? This time round I have managed to find a local online store that stocks not only products from Loveisderma but also a number of other cult beauty brands from Taiwan and Korea. So don’t say ‘Bo Jio‘ but do check out My Daily Skincare. The best thing is that they also offer international shipping so even you are located elsewhere other than Singapore, you can still get your beauty fix.

Presenting my beauty haul.

Copper for October

Anyong-haseyo 안녕하세요! Went down back to my trusty Apgujeong hair salon for a colour change since the roots were showing. My senior K stylist, Sean Kim, recommended copper and I decided to go ahead with it.

IMG_4462He also tonged my hair to create these Korean curls which he unfortunately did not know what they call it in English and I have no idea how to type out what they call it in Korean lol so let’s just stick to Korean perm or Korean curls.

Fry Pan Shokudo at Isetan Scotts Food Republic

Katsu lovers can look forward to a taste-bud-tickling meal with the introduction of an authentic Japanese eatery serving katsu-concepts at digestible price tags. Located within Japan Foods Garden, Fry Pan Shokudo (Fry Pan “canteen”) is the latest eatery to join the enclave of Japanese food options tucked away in a corner of Isetan Scotts Food Republic. Wholly-owned by La Ditta Limited and helmed by successful restauranteur Mr. Taka Daiya, the concept will reignite the thirst for katsu all over again.

Synonymous with its name, Fry Pan Shokudo serves Western-inspired traditional Japanese cutlets on a miniature black ceramic-coated frying pan. The menu features varying katsu-options, with a choice to pair a flaky panko-crusted chicken or pork cutlet, topped with your choice of sauces. Conceptualised by Mr. Taka Daiya who formerly ran a restaurant in Los Angeles frequented by professional tennis player Maria Sharapova, as well as guitarist and singer-songwriter Eric Clapton, the menu retains its authenticity as it would typically be served at canteens in Japan.

Gel Nails with Nails Art by JC Beauty

Got my nails done at JC Beauty recently and here they are!

The roses and all the other nail art designs were hand-painted by Joyce herself. I had no specific design I had in mind so I let Joyce just do up something for me. She does mostly classy designs as evident in the ones she did for me.

LUSH opens new store at Vivocity

LUSH fans rejoice because there’s a new outlet at Vivocity B1-04. Other than their usual array of natural, handmade and organic products, be sure to check out their brand new fragrances. We are really excited because Singapore is the first in Asia to launch the gorilla perfumes.

After trying out every single fragrance, I eventually decided on Amelie Mae & Sun. Amelie Mae has a saccharine sweet fruity and candy-like scent while Sun is refreshing with hints of a citrus note.

Hair Cut & Mucota Hair Treatment @ Agpujeong Salon

So I’m really excited to share that I’ve gotten a new hair sponsor: Agpujeong, which also happened to the salon which I had my hair dye job and cut done previously in Nov last year after returning from a holiday in Seoul.

This round, my stylist was Korean senior stylist, Mr Sean. He felt that my hair was too “big” aka “pong”. Well, I have really thick hair and as mentioned, my hair was previously ruined at another salon where they over-layered my hair and so it got really big and frizzy. So he was going to help me thin it without adding on to the layers.

Enchanted Evening of Wonder and Magic with the Fascinating Retelling of The Nutcracker

Not sure where to bring the kids to this school holiday? Check out the retelling of a timeless classic, The Nutcracker which is produced and presented by Gateway Entertainment and P’Art 1 Design. The Nutcracker infuse spectacular magic, special effects, video animation, and costumes that will capture the imagination and bring this wonderful tale to life. This is a first time I was seeing dance, lasers and magic tricks being combined into one exciting performance.

This magical, theatrical production, directed by Fan Dong Kai, will incorporate world-class illusions performed by award-winning illusionists and father-daughter duo Lawrence and Priscilla Khong. This is the first time the magic duo is staging a performance that has no narration or dialogue, and will rely solely on the art of magic, dance and state-of-the-art technology to tell the story. It will also combine classical music arranged in a modern style by renowned music director Kenn C. The retelling of the old Christmas classic will be the largest scale performance to be held at Gateway Theatre to date with an international dance troupe of 14 dancers and over 50 backstage production crew. The Nutcracker promises to take you on a magical adventure, that will dazzle your senses and touch your heart along the way.

Vision board DIY in time for New Moon Intentions

We all are pretty familiar with new year resolutions, usually we come up with a list, get enthusiastic about them for awhile and then ditch them before even half the year is gone. What started out as a new year resolution, which was to go on a spiritual journey of emotional and mental healing has craved a path of calm, happiness and gratitude. All the crap I had faced and endured in 2016 was for a reason and essential to my own spiritual and mental growth this year. The results I have been receiving has been amazing! Relationships have been healed, lots of blessings have come my way and I feel like a burden has been lifted from my shoulders.

Looking back, I had dabbled a little with crystals in early Feb, tried my hand at manifestation and read up on the law of attraction in May. I am not sure when I started doing moon rituals but I had started out doing full moons. Tonight at 2.30am, it would be a new moon, but before I dive into details about the new moon ritual, first let me share a little about moon rituals.

My Floral Garage Bouquet!

So you guys probably know that I love flowers and the works, that I had even gone for floral arrangement classes before. And that my equally crazy over flowers girlfriend likes to send me bouquets. In fact, just last month I’d received a sunflower bouquet and I reciprocated with her favourite blooms which featured the cotton flower. I also had rainbow baby breath bouquet sent to surprise another girlfriend too. So I have been studying and practising new beliefs lately and I strongly believe that it was because I started giving back that is why I am receiving more as well. So that’s why I was elated when I was offered a bouquet from Floral Garage. It felt like the Universe’s way of saying, here are some more flowers for you.
