Now that I’m graduated // Trip down memory lane

3 years.
I swear time flew by quicker than I could say slow down.
So much has happened during the poly days;
I’ve been through much,
but also learnt a lot and grown a lot since day 1.

I don’t think I can express how thankful I am towards Ngee Ann,
for shaping me and making me who I am today.

I still rmbr when I was a freshie.
Being in BA meant lots of fun and happening events.
Our orientation camp was and is still the most BOMBZ in NP.
Love the cheers, and we have the best seniors, best flags, best everything!

Picture

Thunderous Tecktonik, champs :>

Picture

Pretty seniors that guided me and cared for me over the whole BAOC. So thankful that they pushed me to be Tecktonik Mascot, will never forget the experience!

Picture

One with the Tecktonik ASCO and my first eye candy in Poly! Keith’s the most amazing guy I’ve ever met; with so much sincerity in him. He’s a great influential leader and really nice and just a wonderful human being.

Picture

Trying not to laugh and blush as Asian Zac Efron serenades to me.

Picture

Cinderfella and Tecktonik Princess :>
If you expected the orientation wave to die out, you’d be so disappointed!
In NP, its a tradition for OGs to have mass sentosa outings heheheh

Picture

Alvin laojiao drove us over, he’s the best mannnn.

Picture

Alvin’s face like a constipated only HAHA

Picture

Awaiting my fate.

Picture

First time getting my WHOLE BODY BURIED
Being a freshie is always about getting bullied. HAHAH
But it’s fun :>

It was a whole bunch of nerves upon going to a new class.
Didn’t know if you were gonna meet people you clicked off with and stuff;
but I’m glad I met my clique.
They have been such great life supports,
wouldn’t have completed poly without them.

Picture

Still my bestie from day 1:> Idk what kind of hairstyle was that back in 2011, god. And I sported army specs then. o.o

Picture

We all look so younggggg

Picture

We took tons of class photos in Year 1
I didn’t join any CCA per say because I was afraid of the amount of time that I would need to commit.
My parents didn’t allow me to stay out too late,
so I joined BA interest groups instead.
I was really lucky to have gotten into BA envoys and joined BA Comms.

OIP SHANGHAI MAR2012-APR2012

One of my best memories with NP, has got to be OIP SHANGHAI 2012!
So thankful to have been given the opportunity to spend 5 weeks in SH.
We went over for company visits, had cultural lessons and completed B Comm 1 there :>

Although I didn’t score well for the modules and it pulled down my GPA;
but I would never trade the memories made there for anything else.

Because of TCP (The Christeria Programme), I got to be involved in Pre-University Seminar 2012.
It was a 5 day residential programme at NTU, got to stay at a pretty lovely hall :>
There, we discussed current affairs and exchanged opinions and made new friendships.

National Family Celebrations 2013

When all my lucky stars aligned,
I found myself sitting on the Youth Committee for National Family Celebrations 2013
as well as the Public Relations Committee to give ideas and input on how to make NFC 2013 a success.

I don’t know if “scouted” would be the correct word,
because I simply attended a REACH Youth Ambassador Orientation
(which could not have been possible without NP’s TCP);
and I posed a question to the Minister at the forum that day
(and what I said seemed to resonate with everyone else cause there was claps and laughter)
and I guess that’s why I got invited on board :>

It was a busy but exciting journey,
where I spent weekends on 6 hour meetings to vet through submissions for the Project Superglue grant.
We funded many youth projects that promote family bonding!

I went on to double as a Youth media representative as well,
to field interviews and share about NFC 2013.
It was exciting to be on 95.8FM as well as Channel 8 ;>

Picture

Morning interview, omg my face chui

Picture

Went on Good Morning Singapore to share about the youth contributions towards NFC 2013 :>

Felt an immense sense of achievement when I saw project #famshot come to past
Do follow the new Ministry of Social development and Family’s FB for updates on Family events and ideas for family bonding!

PwC Internship (Sep 2013-Feb 2014)

Being from NP’s accountancy course; the 6 mths internship is a compulsory segment of our poly term.
It is a really valuable experience,
as you get insights into the industry and find out more about the potential career pathways available.

I was really lucky to be posted to PwC to do audit for my internship.
I figured audit would be the most interesting,
since you get to go to different client offices to work.

However, I quickly found out that I really didn’t like accounting and audit.
It was just not my thing yknow?
I just don’t feel the numbers, I don’t know where to pluck the numbers.
Everything is so grey instead of black and white.
I doubt the whole purpose of the audit, so I guess I really should leave Acc HAHAH.

Picture

Was kinda worried I wouldn’t fit in at first, but it turned out okay!

Picture

Talk about employee welfare hurhurhur :>

Picture

As Audrey Hepburn for PwC DND 2013!

Shopaholics, your number one blogshopping app!

As a blogshop owner (Kaizo: http://kaizo.tictail.com) ;
the saturation of the E-commerce market is crazy and it scares me.
There are online shopping giants; long-lasting labels such as Lovebonito and MGP that are really successful
and they have a SUPER strong following.

As a frequent online shopper,
I love the vast variety of choices and the thrill of discovering what every individual store as to offer.

And this is where Shopaholics bridges the gap. (http://www.shopaholics.sg/)

Picture

Search for Shopaholics in your apple Appstore or Andriod Google Play Store, THIS IS A FREE APP!

Picture

How the app looks like in Google Play Store

Picture

Th best part as a consumer, is to be able to shop at different blogshops on the same app!

Picture

This is what freedom of choice really means; 2 log in options and even allowing you to browse without logging in! Coolio :>

Picture

Upon opening the app, you will see a timeline of products by all the merchants.

Picture

The shophouse button will allow you to see all the merchants on the app. This is the best feature of Shopaholics because it allows you to view many different blogshops at one go!

Picture

Assuming you click into an item, you will be brought to the item’s page where you can see the price and description. You can also make payment on this app without the hassle of going over to the blogshop’s page itself!

Picture

Click add to cart and you should see your item in the cart section.

Picture

Click on the black lil cart and this prompt will pop up. Go on and press YES TAKE MY MONEY!

Picture

Select from Normal mail and Registered mail options!

Picture

Fill in all neccessary details and Proceed to Checkout!

Picture

If you have a Paypal account, you can choose to pay via that; or directly from your card. Payment is easy~

Picture

The Paypal should be pretty straight forward.

Picture

The card payment method has a really cool function that allows you to scan your card directly! Thou it didn’t really work for me. :/

Picture

There’s always the manual way of keying in your card details to save the day :>
So go on ahead and shop till you dropppppp!

NP Graduation Night 2014 X Red Carpet Affair

Still in a daze about graduating and turning twenty and entering university.
Everything feels so surreal,
and I feel stuck as ever.
Stuck in a teenager-cum-adult body.

Was glad to be invited for NP’s graduation dinner so I decided to spend a lil more money this time to do hair;
cause I didn’t manage to do my hair for my sec school prom :/

PREP – Manicure & Pedicure @ Nail Alcove

I just love to go back to do my nails at Nail Alcove,
because Chloe is such a friendly boss and does an awesome job to my nails everytime!

Black Hair Salon

HAD to do my hair for this grad night because it would be my only grad night I’m attending in poly!
Got a recommendation from the lady I bought my dress from,
and she suggested me to go to Black Hair Salon to make an appt with Raymond.

I felt a little unsure because I usually entrust my hair to Hair Partners, which is recommended by my mum.
As such, I first checked out Black Hair Salon’s IG account
and realised they have done hair for a lot of influencers and famous people!!

THE RESULTS ARE REALLY PRETTZ TOO!

Picture

LOVE THESE PURPLE HIGHLIGHTS SUPER WANNA TRY STOP TEMPTING ME OHMY

Picture

ERMERHGAWDZ PINK HAIR SO PRETTYZ

Picture

They offer hair styling services too!
After browsing through all the lovely hairstyles,
I immediately dropped Ray a text to make an appt!
At 4.30pm, to give them and myself ample time before the dinner :>

I struggled for a bit to find the place cause I’m such a sotong HAHAH
I saw The Bencoolen building just beside the Bugis OG
but it simply didn’t register into my head to walk in.
Until I asked several OG staff.  HAHA
Sigh Amanda Sigh.

Walked in and saw Ray attending to someone’s hair,
(HE’S SO CUTE???)
Cutest Hair Salon boss everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Picture

TBH, I stalked him before I made an appt. He’s really so cute and youthful looking and TALENTED.

Picture

I love the colour coordination heheh
Ray assigned a really friendly guy to help me!
First, I got my hair washed.
Then, they hair-dryer-blowed my hair into these BIGGGGG curls

Picture

AND I LURVE ITTTTTTT
The best part?
Ray only charged me $22 for a wash and blow!
So thankful that it didn’t burn a huge hole in my pocket just so I could look pretty :’)

So please, do head over to Black Hair Salon to get your hair styled/coloured/cut!
You’d feel really at home, with the cosy atmosphere and talkative friendly staff :>
I’d be sure to go back again heheheh, till then!

Breakfixnow

As some of you may know, my phone screen was smashed and cracked;
(beautifully? I think not)
Just before I flew to Sydney for my holiday.
It was all because I was running late for work and in a rush;
so while tumbling out of bed and making my way to the toilet,
I tripped and BAM
my phone lands face first on the ground.

I pick up my phone and omg wth.
BUT, I have glass screen protector on.
So by right, it should have cushioned the fall.
But, BY LEFT, it didn’t.
So my screen really cracked.
SOMEONE CLAP FOR THE GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR FROM SCAPE THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

BIG SIGHS EVERYWHERE.

After I returned to SG, I actually made a trip to the apple repair centre;
AND GOT THE BIGGEST SHOCK.
They told me I had to pay like $400+ to exchange for a new phone.
Being the daddy’s girl, I immediately called my dad for the game plan
And decided to walk out.
That kind of money was ridiculous, esp when my phone’s really pretty new.

My dad’s an engineer.
He solves problems.
He asks around and gives me this recommendation, Breakfixnow.
I look at their website and instagram
and the shop seems pretty legit.

I get a second opinion from my techie friend JJ and he says “no harm trying”

I was desperate anyway,
was really lazy to go find time to get into sim lim
and haggle with a bunch of men.
Since, I was in the area after doing my hair, I decided to drop my phone off for fixing.

The price quoted for a new screen (Iphone 5s) is $140 with a 2 months warranty.
The job can also be completed in approximately 30 mins!

Picture

Was a lil hard to find because Bugis Street has millions of shops; but its located beside 我爱台妹
They sell a lot of phone accessories too!
As well as glass screen protectors THAT ACTUALLY WORK.

Text for a rate if you need fixing :>
