Masego’s MANDELIC REJUVENATION PEEL – and promo below
Mandelic Acid is anti bacterial .Derived from bitter almonds ;it contains antibacterial properties and improves acne, abnormal pigmentation and photo damaged skin. It’s use often as an AHA peel and is less harmful to what dermatologist have been using in the past.
The good news is! Mandelic peels are now available in Singapore. Here’s my review on the medical graded Mandelic Rejuvenating Peel available at Masego The Safra Spa.
Read my previous post of Masego here:
How It Works
Mandelic Acid is used to treat a variety of skin issues including photo aging, acne, rosacea and other pigmentation disorders. It has a pH of 3.4 and is strong enough to produce a mild exfoliation, but is tolerable by most skin types because of its lighter “prickling” sensation.
Mandelic Acid’s antiseptic and antibacterial activity makes it useful in treating acne in adults and teens, and since it reduces inflammation and redness it is supportive in pre- and post- treatments. It helps prevent the formation of damaging radicals following the cell disruption caused by microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser.
According to its manufacturer, mandelamine is safe for long-term usage.
1.The Therapist starts by double cleansing my skin and then analysing it
2. She tells me I should take more “cooling” stuff such as “liang cha aka cooling tea” since I seem to be “heaty”.
3. She proceeds to apply the Enerpeel Mandelic acid peel all over face. Each Enerpeel has a brush attached it. The formula is gently applied all over skin when the therapist squeezes the attached tube to release the mandelic acid.
4. The Enerpeel sloughs away your dead skin on the top, and then penetrates deep into the skin to generate collagen and renew cells.
5. After about 10mins, neutralizer is applied all over face. It was comfortable at first but it got only my lip and stung just a little bit.
6. After which I had a shoulder massage and mask is applied for about 15mins.
Therapist – applying neutralizer
The results were quite immediate and stunning. I looked into the mirror and felt super pleased because my pores were almost non existent on my nose and cheeks and my skin felt really smooth and radiant. Best facial I had in 2013.
Note to mention the entire process was painless and very comfortable. Mandelic acid is actually suitable for individuals with sensitive skin. Thumbs up for this discovery.
The facial was a quick 45minutes as there is no massaging. 4-5 days later, my skin peeled very very lightly (It almost not noticable at all). I only noticed while applying foundation as there’s when dry skin or any peeling becomes obvious.
I can’t wait to go back to do this!

Mandelic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid but it has a number of chemical properties apart from acting as an exfoliating solution which does not trigger erythema. Its ability to help control rosacea has been shown but its actual mechanism of action in treating rosacea symptoms of reddening and thread veins is unknown but there is evidence that may point us in the right direction. It is ideal for those prone to reddening.
It is known to be antibacterial and antiviral and also helps to encourage vascular turnover and regeneration while suppressing reddening skin chemical reactions. Enerpeel MA 40% will reduce the thickness of the stratum corneum from 37 microns to 25 microns immediately after the peel and then it will reduce further over next 24 hours to 23 microns.
So Enerpeel MA is an exfoliating peel where the Mandelic Acid AHA molecule size means it is absorbed more slowly and hence does not trigger Erythema and therefore does not trigger excessive reddening or post inflammatory pigmentation,
