L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise Introduces EverStrong Hair & Scalp System

L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise introduces a new hair care range – the EverStrong Hair & Scalp System to beat hair problems at the root. Hair loss takes centre stage as one of the growing concerns among both men and women today. I’m currently using the EverPure Range as it is sulphate-free and makes my scalp feel light and clean. But I do love volume and cant’ wait to switch over to EverStrong!

Clinically tested for stronger and thicker hair in 30 days, the new EverStrong Hair & Scalp System revives hair to the strength and volume it truly deserves with the complete regime from this thickening range.

Here’s how The EverStrong Hair & Scalp System Works

The strength of the hair lies at its very core. The EverStrong Hair & Scalp System targets the signs hair loss by getting to the root of the problem. Outside of genetic predisposition, Unhealthy Scalp and Breakage are the two most common causes of hair loss. EverStrong Hair & Scalp System combats hair loss by giving unhealthy scalp the cleansing and purifying treatment it truly needs.

Unhealthy Scalp – A common problem, unhealthy scalps are usually caused by the clogging of hair follicles due to excessive sebum production combined with pollutants and leftover styling products. Hair stand is trapped and unable to grow or becomes thinner. Overtime, less hair grows out, resulting in hair loss.

Breakage – Hair breaks easily, weakened overtime by chemical processes.

Delicate hair strands and sensitive scalps easily fall victim to sulfates, a harsh cleansing agent that over-strips natural oils, leaving hair and scalp dry and deprived of natural nutrients

What i like about the range is that it is 100% free of sulfates, harsh salts and parabens; 100% vegan; and enhanced only with natural botanicals. The L’Oreal patented Amino Acid Complex fortifies weak, thinning hair to create density while caring for the scalp.

It contains:

Rosemary: Commonly used in recipes for hair growth stimulation and is known to help hair grow faster and prevent baldness. It also helps soothe dry, sensitive scalp and prevents dandruff.

Mint: A well-known scalp and follicle stimulant, mint is also often used in aromatherapy to invigorate and revitalize the senses.

Directions for Use

The L’Oréal Paris EverStrong Hair & Scalp System comes complete with shampoo, conditioner and tonic treatment.

  1. Cleanse: Gently massage EverStrong Thickening Shampoo onto wet hair and scalp to clarify scalp. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Condition: Gently massage EverStrong Thickening Conditioner onto wet hair and scalp. Leave on for 1-2 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Swedish Hair Care brand Timotei is back at our shores.

“Beautiful hair… Inspired by nature!”

Timotei has stayed true to its mantra decade after decade, and established its reputation as the original nature-inspired brand in the competitive hair care industry. Launched in the 1980s, Timotei made its name through a winning shampoo formula of pure, natural herb extracts that is renowned for its mild yet nourishing properties. Today, it is an iconic brand all around the world, and similarly produces lasting, beautiful results for women everywhere. We’re thrilled Timotei is available once again in Singapore.

We checked out the range during a brand presentation and terrarium workshop :)

Head at the beautiful Backstage Salon located downtown in Winsland House. You have got to check out the interiors of this one of a kind hair salon. I was so focused on Timotei I had to forgotten to snap all the beautiful pictures of the interiors of the salon. awww

The wonderful thing about terrariums is that you water them just about once every 6months, perfect for workaholics like me lol.

I love the vanilla and flora scents of the shampoo, and the fact that the brand uses uses 100% PET recyclable packaging that is made from 25% recycled material.

Kudos to their love for Mother Nature. And for walking the talk.

here’s a picture of me, with christina whom i bumped into at the event.

Introducing the Jericho Rose Range

The latest range of shampoo from Timotei is not only Paraben-free, it also features the active key ingredient – extract of Jericho Rose that helps breathe life and energy into even the dullest, most unmanageable hair. Jericho Rose is also known as the Selaginella Lepidophylla Extract. Garnering attention within the beauty industry as the Resurrection Flower, this ancient plant has incredible powers of rejuvenation that Timotei has tapped into for formulating nourishing hair-care treatments.

Jericho Rose can survive for years in the West Texas desert under the most extreme conditions, and regenerates instantly with the first drop of rain. It delivers superb hydration and anti-aging properties to keep hair supple, strong and ready to go.

Performance you can expect:

Easy combing

L’Oreal EverPure + Decleor Aromessence Sculpt

L’Oreal EverPure

The media has spoken at length about that and so many hair care brands now have a sulphate free formula.

Well the main reason to avoid Sulfates is that: It’s the foaming agent found in countless hair care products. This chemical detergent can aggravate scalps and damage hair fiber. Healthy hair becomes dry and hair colour becomes dull.
Besides Photo damage which is some times quite unavoidable – we should all do what we can to protect our tresses.

Delicate hair strands and sensitive scalps easily fall victim to sulfates, especially since the main aim of these detergents are to completely encapsulate dirt and all oils, including the good ones so that water can wash it away. In fact, sulfates are actually used as the baseline standard irritant for sensitive skin, meaning that all other irritants to the skin are tested against it.

Sulfates can be absorbed through the hair fiber, skin and scalp, and the problem with sulfates lie in the fact that it is very difficult to completely remove foaming agents even after washing the hair, leading to a growing amount of sulfate deposit on the hair and scalp. This is exacerbated by the foam it produces which coats the scalp and hair, leading to a higher chance of depositing its particles in every part of your hair. (vicious cycle …urgh)

Developed by L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise Laboratories to protect hair (and scalp) from the irritation of Sulfates, the Hair Expertise range includes four franchises specifically formulated for every hair type to ensure beautiful hair without chemical harshness:

EverSleek (to smooth frizzy hair without the heavy additions)
EverPure (to protect coloured hair for a longer-lasting colour and a healthier scalp)
EverStrong (to strengthen weak and brittle hair)
EverCreme (to nourish and restore lost moisture to dry hair)

A few months ago I started out on using EverCreme, and now that I’ve finished up my mask I’m ready to use EverPure and EverSleek.

Here’s a study conducted by L’Oreal on how shampoos here fare with smoothness and detangling which is one of the top things Singporean women look out for.

Want to give it a try?

From mid June 2013 to July 2013, join L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise in its Sulfate-Free revolution by trading in any of the bottled hair care products that contains sulfate for a 59ml bottle of L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise shampoo and conditioner at selected retail outlets. The Asiarooms Pop Up Hotel

I was lucky enough to be 1 out of the 3 people who got a chance to stay at the Asiarooms Pop Up Hotel. The other 2 were bloggers Dawn, and Darren.

So I invited my bestie along, and we gamely took to the Asiarooms Pop Up Hotel just last weekend at Cineleisure. I have to admit we’re are the most shy people around and so we were really making ourselves at home here :)

Clowning around – upon check in.

A little unglam here- but all for good fun.

Our every move is monitored…..LOL

But oh don’t worry – we were allowed to draw the curtains whenever we wanted.

The bed was really comfy . And we had fresh bedsheets too. hehehe. I slept short but well that night.

I love the Asiarooms Teddy – but sadly we couldn’t keep him :( guess I got to go build myself one now. At the Build A Bear workshop? lol.

Know what impressed me?

I was most thrilled to see so much customization going into my little stay. The Asiarooms team are so detailed :) and thoughtful. They packed juices and chocolate bars for us, arranged for supper, dvds, and more. I felt almost like a princess or perhaps a bride on her wedding day – where everyone panders to her requests hahahah.

Here we have our very own butler – who is quite the cutie with a bowtie :)

he’s actually our personnel and butler all rolled in one – my bestie and I totally approve. hahahahhaha!!!

He delivered our supper :) – and stayed up the entire night to ensure our safety. Needless to say we were super touched! She bought him coffee the next morning.

We had Dvds to occupy ourselves with. Guess what we watched? We had decided we watched to watch the rum diaries because of Johnny Depp, but we were a tad tired and didn’t want to go thru the intellectual dialogue…..so we ….decided ..to watch….Meet The Fockers hahahah.

Oh and we were also given in-room mani + pedi + a massage by the Therapists from Siglap’s Hands + Feet studio. Fast Forward to today (Monday) I have ruin my lovely nails already *cries*.

Onto our male masseur – we realized he’s super skilled! A pretty humourous dude as well :) Well usually one wouldn’t be too comfortable with a male masseur but he’s really professional and knows the exact places to knead your muscles.

Mandy then worked her magic on my hands and feet : ) amazing speed there. I went from Maroon nails.

Ok if you are wondering why I’m dressed like that with super elaborate hair. That’s because I had attending the Singapore Blog Awards which happens to be themed the 60s. :) This was styled by Vernice from Clover Salon at Far East Plaza on Scotts Road.

Here’s a peek of the process – I love my hair color too! and the streaks (from my dipdye days)

Amazing yea? Made me look like I was 40 years old however (I guess it is the Tweed jacket hahaha) .

Here’s a more relaxed look the next morning just before check out – and before drawing the curtains fully.

If you think that was all – I was given a voucher for One Night Stay with breakfast for 2 persons at Ramada Singapore at ZhongShan Park. Located on 16 Ah Hood Road, Singapore 329982. (Hilarious road name btw).

Hello to my next Staycation  –  I could really get used to this. <3

MARC ANTHONY : ARGAN OIL + KERATIN, a Match Made in Heaven

Morocco – what better place to look for beauty secrets than a land filled with beauty and exotic vistas. Well known for centuries in its homeland as a beauty staple for healthy looking hair, ARGAN OIL is the foundation for MARC ANTHONY’s latest haircare range. It is deemed as one of the greatest ancestral beauty secrets from Morocco and has garnered a huge following of celebrities including Selena Gomez, Madonna and Josie
Maran, all whom are amazed by the multiple benefits and the results seen after using this super-oil.

Did you know?
Argan Oil strengthens, moisturizes, gives shine and relieves hair from damages.

Weak, dull, dry hair is often the byproduct of a damaged cuticle resulting from regular styling, processing and environmental stress over time. To help combat damaged cuticles, the Oil of Morocco Collection has combined Argan Oil with another super-ingredient, KERATIN, which helps to fortify, protect and correct hair cuticles. This divine combination ensures that your hair transform into a lush, rich shine that reflects a healthy scalp. Suitable for all hair types.

The Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Collection is entirely sulfate free (Hurray!), thus, every single step helps to cleanse, strengthen and retain your hair’s natural oils. Suited for sensitive scalp, the sulfate free formula is mild and will help liberate the scalp from any irritation. The result is healthy hair that is strong and frizz-free.

Here’s a peek into the ingredients: Featuring grape seed oi, and sunflower seed oil in additional to of course Argan Oil. The shampoo is lightly scented – I never was a fan of heavy or overpowering smells so this is perfect.

This is the conditioner, the shampoo is a light milky emulsion :)

The argan oil treatment is a light orange colored oil  – use 2 to 3 pumps each time.

The Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Collection is available at selected Watson’s stores, including Ngee Ann City, Bugis Junction, ION Orchard, Marina Square and Vivo City.

The New Tsubaki Shampoo by Shiseido – avaliable 4th july at watsons

Camellias are known as cháhuā (茶花) in Chinese, “tea flower”, an apt designation, as tsubaki (椿) in Japanese, as dongbaek-kkot (동백꽃) in Korean and as hoa trà or hoa chèin Vietnamese.

Camellia oil pressed from seeds of C. japonica, also called tsubaki oil or tsubaki-abura (椿油) in Japanese, has been traditionally used in Japan for hair care.

A study done by Shiseido helped to shed some light on asian hair. Melanin found in the black hair of japanese women were monitored in a study and researchers found that damage from exposure to UV or heat causes a loss of melanin within the hair fiber.

which in turn —-> leads to loss of shine and luster :( . When faced with heat and photo damage, melanin decomposes and flows out of your hair when you shampoo it, leaving holes behind. Perhaps’ that is bad news but here comes the good news!

Arginine, an amino acid found in soy, nuts, raisins, milk and brown rice (health ingredients isn’t it) actually helps to repair melanin holes. In fact, it restores lustre and shine once it is coated onto your hair.

The word Tsubaki as you already know, actually means Camellia :) and that’s what Tsubaki is about. The new Tsubaki shampoo that will be launched this 4th July at Watsons Stores in Singapore contains camellia oil which repairs the cuticle, and smoothes and softens your hair fiber allowing it to reflect light to give it glorious shine *cue music and wind in hair*

Ok sorry no special fx today, but Valerie and I, we’ve got a happy tree friend to grace our pictures.

Do use your Tsubaki shampoo wisely because the camellia oil used in it, is harvested by hand. The seeds are then sent to press using a traditional extration method. Only the first pure press is used. (kinda like extra virgin olive oil!)

Available in 3 ranges

Shining, Damage Care, and Head Spa (which is my favourite scent)

The 550ml bottles are priced with a slight variation

Shining Shampoo $17.90 – contains Camellia leaf essence
Damage Care Shampoo$18.90 – contains Camellia Repair Butter
Head Spa Shampoo $19.90 – Contains essential oils like Sage, Rosehip, Thyme and of course the Camellia flower extract. No wonder this smelt best. It’s the gold color bottle range :)

Camellia flower essence is said to be an anti-inflammatory agent too!

Each range also features a conditioner and treatment. Some ranges have hair mask, and the gold range now features a cleansing shampoo which is recommended for use once a week.

It helps with the models fronting your products are sooooo beautiful too. They are Mizuhara Kiko, Anne Watanabe (Daughter of Ken Watanabe of Hollywood fame), as well as Ebihara Yuri and Kojima Haruna from AKB.

The lovely ladies from Tsubaki and DSPG had some very lovely activities lined up for us, there was a memory game which admitted i sucked at, and then there was fashion illustration portraits done for us too :) by Sharon and Teresa from OICsingapore. These lovely ladies draw so well.

instagram them!

CLOVER SALON – waterfall braids and 38% off

As I’ve been quite satisfied with my hair colour recently and trying to avoid damage from having too many color changes to it. I’ve chosen to go just for a simple protein hair treatment and some styling recently with Vernice from Clover Salon. :)

A hair treatment for hair my length will cost around $168 before discount. For shorter hair it will probably cost $128. The hair tech will pick out either a color treatment, repair or a hydration treatment according to their analysis of your hair.

For those keen to touch up on your color, it cost $78. And for those who want to do a hair dye it will cost $148.

And hair styling will commence at $45.

Clover salon offers 2 types of treatments (Either the Wella or SP brand). Today I’m trying out Wella since I’ve previously done SP’s color lock.

Please drop me an email at hello@party-parlour.com if you’re keen on receiving Clover’s membership card. The card entitles you to 20% off chemical services with my hairstylist, Vernice. Prices above are before discount :) from now till August.

But guess what? there’s even better news!

From 2nd May

One of Vernice’s colleague starts of with washing my hair , and then applying the wella hair mask as well as serum. Afterwhich they start steaming my hair

Oh yes. my head is up in space now. Anyways this takes about 15minutes :)

Afterwhich Vernice and her colleague do a quick blowdry for me. And we’re done!

Now comes the fun! I’ve requested for Waterfall Braids :)

But first Vernice helps to trim my fringe down since it’s almost blocking my eyes

And then she got started. Vernice was really quick! By the time I whipped out my camera she was already half way thru.

L’Oreal ELSEVE Extraordinary Oil – natures gift

So Light, So Indulgent. L’Oreal’s new miracle hair oil treatment –  called the” Extraordinary Oil ” is the perfect alchemy of 6 precious flower oils that will give your hair the TLC it deserves.

Now women everywhere can have hair so richly nourished and intensely protected with an ultra-light weight finish.

Set in Fullerton Hotel upon the backdrop of the Marina Bay Sands, a launch befitting of this miracle oil. God knows tired and weathered tresses like mine need a solution and this is it! After 2 rounds of dip dyes and alot more coloring my hair needs real help and I think I found what I had needed.

The ” Extraordinary Oil ” itself is actually clear, it is the glass that is tinted brown.

Being an individual with an oily scalp, who on earth would have thought that I would be open to apply more oil only my hair? but ah the extraordinary oil is so different.

Us bloggers did a test with some other popular brands of hair oil ,labelled Oil A and Oil B, against the L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil and the results were clear.

  • No residue on your hands (Unlike Oil A and Oil B)
  • Your hair doesn’t clump together (Oil A made my hair clump)
  • In fact it is more manageable after use, however you don’t feel that it weighs down your hair.

Verdict: After testing this on my hair I had noted that it doesn’t feel sticky on your hands and it has a delicate warm vanilla kind of fragrance, which isn’t at all overpowering. I guess that is what we all one in an old – a non greasy formula, something that is light weight (because if you asked me , our weather alone is enough to wreck quite abit of damage)

Some inferior oils – actually does not get absorbed and so it coats and weighs down your hair so much so that if you blot your hair you will see a whole lot of residue. This did not happen for the Extraordinary Oil however and that is why I love it so far.

This 5-in-1 Miracle Hair Perfector has this stable of benefits for you:
1 Hair has a glowing shine
2 Feels intensely nourished
3 Flows with silky softness
4 Seems sumptuously smooth
5 Looks beautifully perfected

It is recommended that we use 2 to 3 pumps each time. I applied 2 first, and followed up by 3 : all this time my hair didn’t feel like it got heavier :) hurray.

*Use Before shampooing
*Before blowdrying
*As a finishing touch Ultra versatile. Non-greasy.
*Add it to your hair mask for more “power”.
*Before you straighten or curl your hair with hot irons (the oil protects against heat damage)

Formulated with the oils of these flowers: Flax, Tiare, Rose, Lotus, Chamomile and Marticaria, it also contains coconut oil. Now if you want beautiful hair you can use the Extraordinary Oil but it is said that ones’ diet is important too.

Diet: The first and most important is getting more omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. Many people report greatly improved hair and better health in general with a daily dosage of flax oil taken in a certain way. Flax is also said to be good for your liver so if you frequent watering holes, or clubs, and drink a whole lot. Do consider having flax seed oil in your diet :)

The following are the oils found in L’Oreal’s Miracle Hair Oil Treatment. Let’s find out more about them.

Flaxseed oil can give you strong and shiny hair and both of them rely on the extremely high omega-3 alpha linolenic acid content of flax seeds.

Tiare Oil – Believed to relieve migraines, some forms of eczema and even heal wounds, the Tiara flower is said to be sweet and hypnotic. It is often paired with coconut oil and applied to hair and body.

Rose oil can help keep the hair moisturized and prevent dehydration. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, so it may help calm a range of scalp conditions and skin problems.

Lotus flower oil is said to effective in preventing gray hair and stimulating the body’s production of melanin.

Chamomile and Marticaria is known to soothe the nerves  and it does the same for your hair and scalp, in fact it is the most soothing of the essential oils for the hair and scalp. Chamomile helps to retract skin cells that have been inflamed from chemical procedures, and harsh weather conditions and helps with itching scaly scalp and dandruff.

It’s no secret too that virgin coconut oil is bursting with fortifying fatty acids. Studies show coconut oil actually penetrates the hair shaft and reduces protein loss. These fatty acids are proven to enhance and strengthen the hair shaft.

Some shampoos can strip your hair of its natural oils. This is why you may have to use a hair conditioner to prevent dry, brittle hair.

Unfortunately, some hair conditioners don’t really replace your natural hair oils – they simply coat the hair shaft, giving you the illusion of healthy hair.

Virgin coconut oil is proven to replenish the vital oils that give your hair shine and bounce. Dry damaged hair can easily break and leads to split ends. Polynesian women have been using coconut oil for hair moisturizing for hundreds of years. This ancient remedy has been handed down from family to family – giving these island women their trademark thick and shiny hair.
