Scars – Kelo-cote Gel

As an individual who scars pretty easily.

Even a little mosquito bite leaves a glaring grey patch on my skin once the itch clears up, needless to say if I scratch it the condition would escalate to something more horrific. This monsoon season – has left me pretty much the main course and dessert to all the mosquitoes in the area. Le sigh

While thinking about how to prevent these bites (since my first line of defence and my arsenal of mosquito patches and citronella oil sprays doesn’t seem to be working) , and taking it further – mosquito coils only choke my lungs up. Let’s talk about care of scars and the prevention of them.

I recently read about Kelo-Cote. I first came across this brand during Aesthetics Asia, and finally found time to read more about how it helps in scar management today.

Distributed by SinClair IS Pharma, an international speciality pharma company whom strives to improve the health, appearance and confidence of the consumers. Kelo-cote uses the patented self-drying technology that allows the 100% silicone gel to dry on the skin as an occlusive layer, normalizing the production of collagen, improving the appearance of the scar and preventing abnormal, excessive scar formation.

Kelo-cote has been clinically proven to help reduce the redness, hardness, elevation, itch and pain associated with scars. This patented silicone gel is safe and effective for scars resulting from surgery, trauma, wounds, or burns.

Kelo-cote’s patented silicone scar gel dries within minutes forming a flexible, breathable, waterproof sheet over the affected area. This invisible silicone layer binds with the stratum corneum (the outer layer of dead skin cells) to protect the underlying tissue against chemical, physical and microbial invasion of the scar and provide the optimal healing environment for aesthetic scar outcome.

Other than Kelo-cote Gel, this line of product also has an exclusively and uniquely designed spray. The spray function is able to deliver Kelo-cote onto bigger surface area more efficiently with the same level of efficacy as Kelo-cote Gel. Also, the newest addition to the family, Kelo-cote UV has broad spectrum of UV protection, protecting the scar from post-inflamatory-hyperpigmentation (PIH), ideal for all scars as PIH is a very common problem.

It is available here in Singapore and is distributed by NeoAsia :) the same company that distributes Aknicare (which i’m already a fan off) , as well as Neostrata, heliocare (Again i’m a huge fan of heliocare) and many others amongst equipments such as lasers and more.
